ParticipantFor this sake of this idea, let’s agree that Rumple is now fighting for more honorable causes. I think the doll could be a reminder of a dark past that he truly regrets. Adam and Eddie have said this season is about the characters returning to who they always were. Rumple was once a good man. We’re seeing him strive for that again. The doll first struck me as a toy from the Darling’s house. I’m not sure why. Seemed very Napoleon or something for some reason. What if Rumple brought a lot of kids to Neverland to trade for Bae, but PP refused the deal. Last year, we all thought the Wendy Darling could have some connection to the Home Office. I really feel like the Darling children have to come to Neverland eventually. I’m wondering if Rumple brought them there to trade for Baelfire. When Baelfire discovered the deal and that the Darlings were trapped in Neverland because of his Dad, Bae hated Rumple more. I’m betting Rumple had something to do with Baelfire and Hook escaping Neverland.
That is fantastic and chilling. It would explain a lot. Rumpel not getting Bae in NL, but knowing he was alive centuries later. Bae never ever wanting to see his father again–because he hurts those Bae loves. He isn’t just angry. He needs to protect everyone he might meet but he wants love and a family too.
The only thing left is how Bae gets out of NL to be the age he is when he does.

ParticipantThat could work. So that is how Hook heard of NL. And a new mystery–how did that guy get out of NL?

ParticipantThat’s what I thought he meant. “Not like we can explain to authorities outside SB that he killed a guy who was actually a mouse, and he tried to frame a werewolf for it. And our only jail is the cells in the Sheriff station, so we had to stick him somewhere else permanently.” Didn’t read it as him being condescending to either Red or Billy at all, just stating that town business concerning magical animal people had to be dealt with within SB.
I knew that was what he ought to have meant too, but the way he said it came off way more ridiculous. It was another Pinocchio joke moment. Emma knows August, came to him for help about the curse, and Snow even mentioned Emma right after Gepetto as someone who would want to see he was safe. Emma knew the man she met was not some lying cartoon puppet, just like Charming knows Billy was not just a mouse, and Ruby is not a monstrous werewolf. Yet the line is delivered in a straight “who would ever believe this” way. Well, who cares in both cases what a real world person would believe as the point is all this is real to the people involved, and they cannot go to the outside world even if it were something like Gold assaulting Moe. Emma at least might have slipped up, then realized, ok it is not so simple. Charming could have just said “its not like we can expose ourselves to the outside world.” The writers went for the joke of how crazy it sounds to non-FTL, and it downplayed the coldness of how George wrote off the humanity of his victims.
They should have had George say that they have him chained up like an animal, instead of the real monster. Then have Charming defend Ruby, while Snow has a “”I am so proud of you: moment, then connects the conversation to how they can convince Anton that David is different. It would have been way more touching than what we got.

ParticipantI see drama in it but, they should have recognized each other in the bar/ship. They did not so I do not think Hook and Rumpel were lost boys together. It is possible they didn’t if it had been decades, but still odd.

ParticipantSorry, the description I’m giving is for the doll, deleted a sentence there, in reference to someone saying the doll looked like Rumpel. I am not sure it looks like Bae, but I thought Bae’s jacket on Hook’s ship was blue.
It would not make sense though for either of them in a small village if it is a nautical inspired doll. Then again, it is a toy and you do not have to make it a mini-me but a fantasy.

ParticipantWhatever the deal is with the doll, I want that backstory on how Neal got out, what happened the last time Rumple went to NL, and why Rumple didn’t seem to know Neal had been in NL for centuries. Or if he did, why he couldn’t do anything about it.
The doll had a blue jacket on. Have we ever seen Rumpel in a blue jacket? We have seen Bae in [Edit: a dark jacket. and the doll’s jacket ] had white trim, was boxy and looked cut to remain open.
Like this historical Privateer Navy garb:

ParticipantThat George scene is the only one I am glad they deleted. Ironic because I have been so curious about George’s fate. First there was Charming referring to Billy and Red as a mouse and werewolf and saying they can’t send George to the state prison for it. I thought Ruby was part of the family like a sister, but apparently its the way the dog is part of the family. Now I think it was meant to be Charming sneering at George’s description of his crimes. If it is the state prison, the bigger issue is revealing the town, so that is why George must be kept chained in the mines, in a ridiculously crisp white shirt. Magic is back, and apparently George has some.
The whole thing was cringe-inducing.I wish we had a better scene of George’s fate.

ParticipantI still think it has to do with Bae, and what happened on Rumpel’s previous trip as the Dark One that he did not leave with his son.
We all figured Bae had been in NL (well maybe not all…coffee anyone?). Rumpel however might not have realized this yet. It might just have hit him that he pushed for the curse and maybe even traded PP for it, and all the while, Bae was there in NL. Pan hid his son from him, despite all his power.

ParticipantIt is odd they specify that Liam is an orphan.
Just to throw it out there, it could be Liam is Eric. My hookriel hopes say “noooo” but some people like to imagine Hook’s mother is Ariel.

ParticipantIn the D23 panel, Eddy said we might see Neal and Emma flashback to them on the run.
I hope so! The tweet on the plot point shortened this to “we may see Emma’s bailbonds skills” or something, completely did not say the bit about Neal.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
