Maybe Milah made the doll for Bae, but took it with her when she left to remember Bae? Then Bae found it on the ship, a sign that his mother did love him (in her miserable way).   Rumpel  hasn’t thought about her in years, but he never told Bae he killed her.  If he realizes that Hook met Bae (something it is not clear he realizes yet), he might finally realize that Bae found out what Rumpel did to her, and that has got to trigger waves of feelings, that Bae spent years in NL with not just the image of his father breaking their deal, but smashing  his mother’s heart.  Because if Bae could still love his Papa, after abandonment (though angry), he might have still loved his mother too and not been like “she had it coming, no big loss” as Rumple appears to feel.

Maybe it was up to keep it from getting straggly.  It did look arranged and fancy, but maybe that was just a side effect of how they’d pinned it up because they are hairstylist artist types.

I think Regina is in a place similar to that of Kym in the movie Rachel Getting Married.  I don’t think she is ready for full on romance yet.  She needs to learn to be part of Henry’s family first, confront her past as an abuser and as abused (by Cora).  She has her own “we are both” thing to work out–she isn’t innocent Regina, but its between Mayor Mills, driven single mom and Evil queen, hung up on revenge and power.  I think Regina may deny it, may have corrupted it, but she does want more than just her lost romantic love or Henry’s–she also wants to be part of a family.  She just doesn’t know how and it is never going to be easy.

Only problem with making Hook Eric. They want to make CaptainSwan seem like a potential end game relationship so Neal throws a spanner in the work. CaptainSwanFire triangle. Ariel wants Hook. Hook not interested, wants Emma. Ariel upset. If Emma ends up with Neal, it leaves Hook a free agent. Because Hook is Eric, he must end up with Ariel. Hook would be settling for Ariel because he can’t have Emma. Isn’t that unfair on Ariel?

I think there is something off in this reasoning.  No one says it is unfair to Hook or Neal that Emma had a thing with Graham.

There are lots of similarities.  One thing I feel is similar is they both at times underestimate their opponents willingness to be evil or good.  They are in the middle and thinking, planning, plotting and then these extreme actions catch them by surprise.

Well if they give too many blatant spoilers, we won’t have room for our crack theories so I’m ok with that 🙂

Interesting twist but it seems unlikely to me that they would make Rumpel Eric too.  Would feel redundant to layer another love story, plus it cannot have been a time in her past (she seemed like she had never explored much), so would be in her present.  Plus the certain mermaid line was said when Regina had captured Belle.

    I liked what Runaround said.

@LanaOurQueen @rochiss271 not confirming anything.   Cause I generally don’t do spoilers.

@LoganXfiles @sofaki26 have never spoiled a triangle with any one.  That’s fans reading into our answers to fan questions.

I am trying (and failing ) to embed a tweet here.  I think Adam said they are not confirming tink as the LI because no spoilers, so then someone said what about Captainswanfire? And he is saying that is not confirmed either.  The whole chain implies it may have started with a question about Regina but not sure.  It did start with that LanaourQueeen user ranting a bit that Tink as LI would make no sense.  No idea how to embed though, but I searched her tweets to see if I could find the start of the conversation.

I am doubtful that the doll was a clue Rumpel had been there before as  a child.  I think it has to do with Bae having been there, and Rumpel having been clueless that he was at the time.  Now Pan has Henry, and Rumple realizes once again his Dark One powers don’t work in NL.

That is a weakness for Rumpel, the belief that without his Dark One powers he is helpless.   (Obviously, he is capable of physically beating people with his cane, and is clever, so he is not helpless, but it goes back to why he brought magic back to SB–it is about his belief).  I think it will pick up that theme of love is strength, and he will have to realize he is not helpless without his powers, and believe in the others (because let’s face it, Rumple has had some trust issues).

As to  why Rumpel is powerless in NL, I think it has to do with Nl running on belief. Pan has magic that negates other magic, because it is based on belief not just emotion.  That is how the cuff/taser things worked.  It amplified the disbelief of Greg and Tamara  (or their belief in the superiority of science) to the point it cut off Regina’s powers.

Until Henry, Pan was the truest believer, but Pan only believes in himself.  Henry has belief just as true, but it is in those he loves as well, and that is why Henry is stronger.   All Pan knew was Henry was a threat, and that’s why he wanted him.  So he won’t be able to kill Henry right away, when Henry has hope of rescue.

So Pan’s threat to Rumpel is, if Rumpel keeps trying to get Henry, he will “believe” away the Dark One curse.  Rumpel then has to be strong enough to choose to give up the power, to be undone.  It’s a threat because of course, for Pan to summon enough disbelief to kill some magical thing, especially one capable of inspiring irrational fear, is not easy, that’s why he has all the kids.

On the fear point, it is like a kid can give up believing in the easter bunny and Santa, yet still be afraid of the dark/monsters basically, bad things.  Fear can bypass reason that might get in the way of belief.  That ties into why NL is so dark.

Now that I wrote that all out it feels like that can’t possibly be what the writers are doing.   So maybe it is just Rumpel was there as a boy.

Although we did not see Bae holding anything, a straw doll could have been tucked in his shirt.
