So one night August picks up this hot blonde at a bar, (casting call said she’s a party girl), and he gets her alone and thinks he’s about to get lucky, and then she blurts out, “I know you’re Pinocchio,” then tells him all about who she is, and who Nealfire is, and Rumple and the dagger and the whole thing.

Ooh, that is interesting.  I definitely can see Tink in a green sequined strapless mini shooting pool (like Lacey), eyeing up August.

THat would be Tink’s surprising connection, because it isn’t so surprising to connect her to Bae, but if her story links to his in the “real” world would be quite surprising, that she was actually there and involved in their lives years ago

    That makes sense POM.

I do not think Regina’s favorite kill should be Greg.  It is like her vendetta with Snow.  Greg was a child, and she killed his father because he got in her way.  Kurt was even a widower like Leo, so Owen was already missing a mother.  Greg became a bit of a monster, so he is not getting a pass.  I just don’t think Regina ought to feel “yay, I win” as that is her problem in the first place.  She ought to be horrified or at least shook by the thought of killing him, perhaps realize she made him the same way she claimed that Snow made her what she was.  Then of course someone else kills him, like Tamara.

Then Regina can kill Tamara and we get whatever details on her backstory Cora-style (but maybe not as much a focus of the episode), when it is already too late for her present self, so we don’t lose out on feeling “yay the wicked witch is dead” even if there is a tragic note of what might have been. (Especially if she turns out to be RH’s daughter, a sort of anti-Emma, also born of true love, also sent ahead of the curse with a destiny to be the backup to break it or something like that….).

Just to play (Blue) Devil’s advocate, how do we know Dreamy and Nova were /are true love? BF said it was just a dream, and we saw how magical dust from Nova hit his egg, causing him to be hatched early and to kind of, like birds do, be imprinted on her.  He saw her face in a dream in the egg.  They did not spend a lot of time together before wanting to run away together.  Meanwhile, for Snowing and Rumbelle, it seems like the true love bond formed slowly over challenges that tested their love and understanding of each other.  BF saying break up for the greater good was the first test, and far as we saw, Dreamy gave up and resigned himself to being Grumpy and Nova to carrying on.  They meet again by accident, and it is left open except for the short in GMSB that is a unofficial comic con/dvd extra  clip.

I hope there is more (we did see Grumpy in King George’s jail for stealing a diamond to propose).  I don’t think their story is over, but if true love is not instant, then maybe at the time, BF was not standing in the way of it at all.  She was a part of the forging process, like a steel sword that gets tempered to be stronger.  They are minor characters so we might not see how they reconciled and worked through the whole dwarf/fairy destiny thing, but we all sort of assume they could /did and that BF was up to no good to ever give Dreamy a choice (because she doesn’t force him at all, though it is a big guilt trip that clearly hints what she thinks would be the “right” thing to do).

I do love the idea though that BF was motivated by her (or Tink’s) tragic love story, and that it ties in to how the Dark One (or Neverland/PP) came to be.

It’s the month of August, so the time for talking about our gingerheaded boy who used to be a scruffy, cryptic enigma wrapped in a riddle and stuffed in leather pants.

I’ve been reading all of the essays on   Screwball Ninja lately, and wishing she would do one on August.

I have so many questions about this character, and even more “headcannon” to explain away how he got to be the way he did.  I wish the show would SHOW more, and I know many people felt his   “happy ending” was not actually a satisfying resolution of this character’s role in the story.

We ought to find out how and what he knew about the curse.  How did he know about the dagger? We can guess BF told him some stuff before he left or gave him the book, or that Bae told him some details of his life.  We don’t KNOW it though. We weren’t shown it.

I love Demileto’s theory that little puppet Pino went to Pleasure Island AKA NL.  I think that would be the perfect way to wrap the character into the present tale.   Maybe rebooted August has selective memories of his past life that start to resurface (no friends with benefits in Phuket memories please!).

And while I don’t quite think the timeline works out here, it could be interesting to tie back to when we thought Whale was actually a whale, as in Monstro.  If they did do puppet Pino, maybe we could find out about the thing that was attacking them.  I’m just angling for more on the magic versus science (that really is magic) here.

Another question, like Emma, he was out in the real world. Did he meet NO one who was completely non-magical who ever cared about him enough to wonder where he went? I wonder that about Emma too, but I guess the answer we were given is, not really.   But what if his little bedmate in Phuket wasn’t just that?  It is a show about hope and happy endings, but the drama and conflict needs to be continual so if they wanted, they could tap back into this character and mine his story for more.

Too creepy for a halloween episode? Pino walks into Gold’s shop and discovers his puppet grandparents and brings them to (evil Chuckie-inspired puppet) life?

Well if PP sent that plot device cuff/taser  to GOAT, then the magic users better watch out–might be an interesting dynamic too as it does get silly with spells, why don’t they just do this or that.  You know, like teleporting an enemy or desired object.  Physical fights lets them play with Hook, Charming, Snow and Emma as physical fighters….and cane of pane could even work.  Maybe Regina can ride a horse to evade someone….

Interesting.  The fairies need dust to use for their spells , but seems like the dwarfs bear the brunt of that cost.

We’ve also thought that RH might have met Snow, though we were thinking before the secret wedding ? I’m a lost girl myself here on the timeline.

Would that be too confusing? RH in past teaching Snow to shoot, then RH in present with Belle revealing another means of portal travel, something he knows about as his baby daughter and wife used it to try to escape the curse. Then a big reveal that his daughter is Tamara (maybe by a brief clip to her showing her wearing some family heirloom, like a little bow and arrow charm).  That way RH would never know that his daughter  almost killed him).  They could have just a brief scene of her and most of the story is between Snow & Co in past, and Belle & RH in present.  It also creates a tragic similarity with Greg, because just as Greg searched for his father only to find him dead, RH could be searching for Tamara, then in the clip back to Tamara is when we learn she’s his daughter–just as PP kills her or something.

I am putting this in the category of things I wish they would do not what I think they would do.

In the premiere (first episode of new season) not a promo (promotion, those sneak peeks) is when they said we would find out.  May or may not be in a sneak peek.

I wonder if it will be Lana and J.Mo for the intro clips to sneak peeks or if they recorded new ones with the other actors?

We talked about this in chat.  I also thought it was possible to do Tamara’s backstory more through exposition, and then parallel it with revealing more Snowing history in the past.  I’m not as sure of the RH tie to Tamara  as a spoiler suggested he would be in SB.
