ParticipantHm interesting Kranen. Given his condition, landing in water would be softer than hard sand.
RumplesGirl–the feels! I would love that parallel.

ParticipantThey could always do flashbacks to SB, action in NL ? No flashbacks, but cuts between the locations?
I’m mostly mystified how they can simplify these various locations quickly.

ParticipantNice idea on the colors Happy-Ending–and exciting to see Adam confirm it, RumplesGirl!
Now if only we knew what color was what land!
Well that I don’t need u ne–could be missing punctuation, as it’s obviously mispelling “you”.
I don’t need u, neverland is like home to me?
I don’t need u, never trusted you anyway?
I don’t need u, never gonna give you up, never gonna say good bye…(hope the hyperlink works, sorry couldn’t help the (Rickrolling).)

ParticipantWhat if it is short hand for ” I don’t need you–you need me”–with one of our villains storming off, like Rumpel, when the rest of the JR crew doesn’t want to do what he does?

ParticipantPhee, I agree, J.Mo. was being careful, and I am glad all the actors try to be careful too, as they know we read a lot into their words.
I also hope the writers spend some time on Nealfire. While it was fun to see a special on “Who is Baelfire”–the character ought to come out in the writing and action, not just in commentary. How would the writers define him in a catchphrase sort of way? We know he’s Henry’s father, Rumpel’s son, Emma’s ex and the first big love of her life, but what else is he doing in this story, besides being the original reason for the curse? He’s not the destined Savior, the Dark One, The Evil Queen, Notorious Pirate, the noble Princess and her Champion, so, who is he? I think his adventures out of NL could reveal him to have a very interesting role to play, like a wildcard, along with his adventures in FTL. Wherever they go with SF, I want Neal to be an interesting character, not a throwaway romantic endpoint or obstacle.
One of the biggest things I wonder about the CC footage, was revealed in the Colin and MJR interview at what looked like a cafeteria setting.
So they talked about how Colin broke his leg, and how they were supposed to have had a scene last season together, but did not. I am SO curious what we might have seen. Their feelings towards each other is really such a big puzzle piece in the whole “triangle”. And I put quotes around it, because like with Cora-Milah-Belle-Rumpel is not exactly a love quadrangle story–even with Cora meeting with Rumpel and kissing him when he was in love with Belle. Things happened in sequence, and we do not know if there will be this dramatic confrontation of Neal returning and Emma torn between them.

ParticipantHm, interesting point RG and thanks for help with the blackouts.
They are moral, and also eager to spend time with Emma, and she with them. I can’t picture Emma like a teenager, with the Charming’s disapproval fueling her attraction to Hook in a bid to establish independence from parental control. Emma is a parent too. I see her taking their opinion into consideration but she will make up her own mind. So she might trust him more than they might, but she is not going to dismiss their feelings either. He has not proven himself to them, but they might give him a chance to try, so we have to wait to see.

ParticipantAfter the meltdown and bad behavior of some shippers after Comic Con, I almost feel odd owning up to shipping anything. This should be fun, and whether the writers confirm or contradict what I think I want to see or saw, this show and character’s love lives are not worth hurting real people’s feelings over, by being disrespectful to each other and the creators/actors of the show.
If SF turns out to be no more than a brief a stop along Emma and Neal’s journey in the story, I will simply say thank you for the fun, and get busy shipping something else.
In the meantime, there are some SF bits of CC’s interviews and panels I want to discuss. I know this is a spoiler-free part of the forum, so giving some space in case I mention something. Not sure how the blacking out stuff works anymore.
(Space for the spoiler-phobes)…..
When the moderator, Keck, asked MJR about landing in FTL, it sounded like Keck made a deliberate pause between saying Mulan… and Aurora and Phillip. Then he brought up that apparently “fans” are shipping Neal and Mulan. I LOVED GG’s, MJR and Eddy’s and J.Mo’s responses, because it was exactly what I was thinking. Is anyone really shipping Neal and Mulan on their own merits as characters? MJR pointed out that Neal was really lucky to end up with people who might help him. That’s what I was thinking, not, ooh, can he hook up with Mulan ?
Then, there was J.Mo’s awesome reply to the suggestion, “Watch it. That’s my baby’s daddy.” GG also made me smile, when she demanded someone to “Name it” in response to the comment about this Neal & Mulan ship as if she couldn’t believe it was an actual thing, and she then name-checked Swanfire. Thankfully, because the moderator did not (and I found it odd he talked about Dearies, Evil Regals but not Hookers, instead talking about CS. As if all Hook fans want him with Emma…plenty do not, just as SQ does not mean Evil Regal.) Anyway, I’m positive not all CS fans ship Neal with Mulan ( just like not every SF fan likes Hookriel, Hooked Queen, Sleeping Hook or Hook&Book (ok I made that up, but he spent enough time under them to give the floor second thoughts). If there are people hoping for Ninjafire /Baelan or whatever fair enough, I have my crack ships, and some are mutually exclusive but I ship them anyway. I just found it very odd to bring up that particular crack ship in a very limited time panel.
Luckily, the responses were pretty much everything I as a SF fan could have expected. They won’t spoil the suspense, but I loved Eddy saying the last thing he saw Baelfire do was say “I love you” to Emma. Then MJR saying how he will move heaven and earth and if there’s a captain in the way too–so be it. Perhaps seeing Neal having to struggle to get back to Emma, overcoming obstacles, fighting to get back to her (though not for her, she’s not a prize to be won!), will change some people’s minds that he doesn’t “deserve” to be with her, doesn’t want to be with her, won’t do everything to make sure she has a happy ending. Then, there was DaddyCharming’s “not with my daughter” when the subject of Hook’s intentions to Emma came up.
I do think Charming and Snow could change their minds about Hook if Emma did, but really, everyone’s glossing over this bit: how is Emma going to react to finding out Hook’s Milah was Neal’s mom and Rumpel’s ex? Is she supposed to just think “Oh, how romantic!” Or is it not going to come up somehow? I guess Cora and Rumpel’s little fling never did see the light of day either, so maybe. So much stuff to be swept under the rug, we need the magic carpet from Aladdin to get in the story already (if its not hanging with Jafar in OUAT: WL….now there’s a crack ship–carpet-Jafar!). Ah, maybe my answer to what to do if SF doesn’t pan out.

ParticipantI like RQ as both Alice’s lost older sister, and Grace’s mother. When we were talking about how similar Sophie looked to Grace, the “Aunt” was the idea that appealed to me, because I didn’t see Alice being the mother and the timeline didn’t work for Grace to be Alice’s mother. The Red Queen thing is a great twist on that, and I vaguely recalled that passage about Alice’s sister, but that makes it seem more ripe for them to twist things!
“Lost” is definitely ambiguous as a term. My temporary backstory here is that Jefferson found out about the “hat’s rules” in a scenario similar to the wardrobe problem for Snow and Charming (if Gepetto had never lied). So I think Grace’s mother traveled with Jefferson somewhere, while pregnant. She gave birth early, but it was dangerous where they were, so they rushed to the portal to leave, and he was carrying Grace. He stepped through first, and to his horror and shock, she was left behind. I’m trying to think of what we saw in the Doctor, as it is not clear that rule was mentioned there, or exactly how Jefferson brought Whale to FTL (who traded places? Rumpel?). If he did already know about the same number in/same number out thing, then that doesn’t quite work, but he still could have been caught off guard somehow.
I don’t know–but I do hope Stan’s schedule clears up for him to drop by Wonderland, even more than for Once (as it is in that whole NL arc) at this point.
