ParticipantI’m curious to learn more about what they have in store for TEF portion of the story, now that we know that’s confirmed as where Neal ended up. Many people just assume that the next season will spend a lot of time in Neverland–but maybe it will be wrapped up by the midseason break, with the next big threat for our main characters stemming from TEF. A lot of things have happened much more quickly than we ever thought–for example, the memory curse breaking, finding Henry’s father, finding Bae, Cora dying, Snow and Emma returning from TEF, Neal finding out about Tamara. Some of these things could have sustained other shows for a season or more, and here it was just like zoom, zip, next development.
I love Tiny as a character, but I agree that episode was not one of my favorites. Selfess Brave and True was bad because of the reboot but otherwise it did have some good moments on the twist and turn scale of things. I really liked the Dragon character but wished they could have done more–perhaps that was the problem overall–too much potential, not enough payout. Of course, that goes back to them zipping by too fast.

ParticipantI’m worried that the “sister show” will drain plotlines/talent away from the main show. When it was just a mini-series type thing that was not a huge concern, but if they intend to really keep it going, then I do have to wonder how it will work. Some franchise shows manage to have several stories set in the same world but with completely different characters and plots, but its less clear cut to me how that would work for OUAT.

ParticipantI hadn’t seen that show of Dominic’s! Now I will feel its a sad waste of what could have been a brilliant turn in a villain role! I have a feeling that as usual, fans are on a completely different wavelength from that of casting directors. I am ok with that–I like what they’ve done on the show for the most part, but it is still fun as it is with our theory talk to throw out some wild-will-never-happen ideas.
More “reunion” style castings:
CHUCK: Zach Levi did the voice for Flynn Rider in Tangled. Zach could be fun as the scarecrow in OZ? Adam Baldwin for Tin Man? Josh Gomez as the Lion? How about Timothy Dalton as Merlin or as an “old” Robin Hood ?
Farscape/SG-1: Claudia Black as Morgan Le Fay and Ben Browder as Arthur, or I could see her as one of the bad witches in OZ, with Ben as the Wizard. Hey those two already in 2 shows together–what’s one more?
Heroes: We have David Anders (Whale), so how about Masi Oka (Hiro)? Not sure maybe a legendary samurai or something. I know we haven’t seen Shang, but he doesn’t strike me as the right type for that.
House: J. Mo was on that show. I never watched more than an episode or two and I doubt they could get Hugh Laurie–but again, aged up RH or Merlin or Arthur…reading the SB phonebook, I don’t care! Linda Edelstein could be a witch in OZ.

ParticipantThe writers made a distinction on Twitter about Alexandra and Henry, but not sure if the way they worded it ruled out Greg and /or Tamara surviving or being killed by it–they simply were not part of the scope of that answer. So I think it is quite possible for either thing to have have happened. All we know is that Tamara has said she is human, that she didn’t consider herself to be part of “your kind” when talking to Hook about the impact of the fail safe (or didn’t want Greg or Hook to know otherwise, if she knew she had magical roots). Hard to say as I think it is something the writers didn’t think about too deeply–so I don’t think Tamara will be RH’s child. Whatever her back story is, I think it will be more like Greg’s, if we indeed ever get it. She’s someone who ran into magic in “the real world” and hates it.
I also think the writers did not think about the fact that Emma has been in SB for an entire year, with time moving forward. I suppose it has been only a month since the memory curse broke, so maybe no babies were conceived and born in Storybrooke because of the curse. The writers didn’t TELL us that though. The only baby we knew about was Alexandra, but in retrospect seems odd that there were not any others.

ParticipantI think some characters are going to be random, one shot. They have to be some like that to keep the cast from swelling up. So A&E even said something like that in an interview, that to them it is more interesting to see a famous character than random thief, even if that means there will not be much more to the story of that character.

ParticipantWell, for the other stories it was sort of done pre-Emma breaking the curse, so it all made sense to see the contrast between “realworld” Aka Storybook and full on enchanted forest selves. Most of the Season 2 characters did not fit that pattern–Hook, Cora, MAP have no Storybook counterparts. Even the minor ones who were in Storybooke like Sheriff and Smee, we didn’t learn much of their daily identity–it seems like that plot device is just done.
So when we get Ariel, it could be we will have her in the past or the present, but I am not sure they will bother with “storybook” Ariel exactly.
I could see young Ariel as a crush for Henry, but I think it would play better in a year or two for Henry, and I want Ariel on the show now! I think an older Ariel is easier for them to do in terms of making a character that has a longer story arc.
While some people feel “our cast is set”–I’ve watched enough shows where some of my favorite characters did not show up until the middle or end of the series. New characters with major storylines they introduce can really help keep a show fresh. I think Ariel could be that type of character. Plus, with Ory leaving, they sort of have a gap open for a “friend” character. I think Emma could use a BFF friend of her own, besides her mother or mother’s friends.

ParticipantI don’t think PP wants Emma-why risk her dying in the failsafe thing? They all thought it might happen. I think he wants Henry, who is special in his own way. I am still going with the possession thing or sacrifice Henry for some reason.

ParticipantI just completed watching LOST, so there were many actors there that would be great in small roles just like Dale (Spencer) or Garcia (Tiny). Not to overwhelm OUAT with them but they really did have a great (and very large) cast.
Why not a Scottish trifecta with Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond)–he can play Rumpels father since they scrapped the earlier flashback stuff.
or for Hook’s father or pirate mentor (Blackbeard?), Mr. Needs-no-Guyliner himself, Nestor Carbonell (Richard).
Or Katie Segal (Helen) as Ursula or a cyclops (she does the voice for Leela on Futurama). And Dominick Monhagan would work as an aged up Peter Pan–especially an angry one (Charlie….but very recognizable as a Hobbit from the LOTRO movie.I think though they may feel they’ve tapped that well too often, so might prefer avoiding anyone very recognizably from that show.
For the recast on RH, I wouldn’t mind if we see the character again much older, but I can’t think of an actor right now for that.

ParticipantI agree with everything!
We do need to wrap up George–big gaping loose thread.
Hints of Frankenwolf from Frankie or Granny work for me until Meghan has time to guest star.
Baby boom–only thing is, that leaves plot hole for me with A&E saying Henry was born in land without magic, so he was the ONLY one to survive. They said Ashely ‘s Alexandra wasn’t conceived in the land without magic, so ok. Yet does that mean there were no other babies? That in itself could be an interesting plot–that the people of FTL cannot have more kids in SB, and Alex was the last one born. That leads to a mystery of why, and so on, or forces them to find a new way out of SB.I want to see Jefferson and Grace–but of course, like Frankenwolf…schedule difficulties.
I want to find out what Glass is doing. Magic is back–is he still there? I’d be happy with someone noting he “escaped” and just leave it out there for whenever Esposito can guest.
More than Frankenwolf–what about that whole magic v science thing, Whale totally should have been in on that. What about the folks in his world–didn’t they notice he was gone? I’d like a storyline that shows the curse impact on other lands.

ParticipantThat is interesting–but once Rumpel is just a man, and their story is no longer so much Beauty and the Beast–then it becomes like Snow’s dark heart storyline. Who is he if he isn’t this guy searching for love and unable to attain it? What is he like as a guy who has it again and is worried about losing it since now he doesn’t have unfathomable power and has an enemies list the size of SB? I think that’s where I see Rumpel going and Belle “saving” him in quite different ways than showing him goodness–there’s a part in the movie where Belle has to try to convince the townsfolk that the beast isn’t what he seems. They could play off that.
