Good grief it wouldn’t be fair to all the other people, Gepetto gets to have a real kid twice, and if the Cricket can change his mind from wanting to be a cricket to a man, I don’t think that is right he made a choice so he should go back to being the Cricket. Gepetto can’t live much longer he is an old man and I am sorry to say if Gepetto dies then I think the Cricket should too no one else seems to get 2nd choices like that . Snow wasn’t giving a another chance to raise Emma as baby, I say no way for the Dr Hopper he should go back to being a cricket and so should Rumble in my opinion.
Good grief? Why do you like to call Jimminy “the Cricket” so much? This show is all about 2nd chances and hope. Some things can’t be set right as it is “too late” in terms of the plot of the show. Other things though, the writers have some freedom to craft a happier ending or not, as they choose. In this show, Jimminy chose to be a cricket only because he wanted to escape from his evil, awful, controlling parents and atone for what he’d done to Gepetto. That was in a way, an accident as Jimminy didn’t mean to hurt them, and didn’t know what would happen. At the time, cricket-dom was his wish, but what if his wish has changed?
Its not a plot line I expect they’ll be doing any time soon now given the NL story arc, but we had a hint of it with Whale and Ruby talking. The curse ruined a lot of lives, but there were some characters who were perhaps given the chance for a new start and maybe a better life.
I might like to see what would happen to Sydney Glass/Genie (were the actor to be available once again). Or Nova and Grumpy–or Tiny. They’ve been given humanity in a way, by the curse, and it would be an interesting plot to develop to what extent various FTL creature types would want to keep that or ought to keep that rather than just go back to FTL as if everything were so amazing there, when it wasn’t for everyone. Then there are characters like Jefferson and Grace/Paige. She has this whole family relationship with the couple who the curse made her think were her parents. Jefferson was driven mad–should he “stay mad” and not get to have custody of his daughter because it wouldn’t be “fair” for him to be reunited with his daughter, when Snow doesn’t get that chance?
It is kind of a plot hole why some magical creatures reverted (Ruby with her wolf form) and others didn’t (the dwarves and fairies). I think it’s ripe for a storyline to explain and explore. I would want to see stories about whether FTL and resuming their exact lives (to the extent possible given the stuff that cannot be reset) is even a good thing.Question: Why did it take till now when Bae showed up to finally give Felix a photo of the boy that the guy is looking for or for that much PP so they would have grabbed the right kid instead of collecting them ❓
I agree with Phee–but want to add that “meta-reason” is it was more dramatic to unfold the reveal that way, and its unlikely there’ll be an “in-story” reason for it shown on screen, so that kind of fan theory may be all we get. Kind of like there’ll never be an explanation why Greg and Tamara went and hid in the stacks when Regina came out of the elevator after getting the fail safe.
If you want more discussion of fan theories on why, you can reread how you were answered the last time you brought it up–on this thread “Peter Pan confirmed to be played by new male actor”

ParticipantJimminy being a cricket was a “blessing” given to him by the BF. She says to Jimminy that ” Find the boy, Jiminy. You will live as many years as you need to help him. Just find him.” So one question is, if Gepetto dies, would Jimminy? Or would that “help” transfer to little Pinocchio? Does Jimminy need to stay a cricket any longer–would he want to be a cricket? His original reason for it was to help him get away from his parents, and to in a way atone for all the bad he had done as a thief, especially the creepy puppet curse thing.
I don’t think the show is going to pick his story back up, but I think it could have been really interesting. What if, having experienced being Dr. Hopper, and having helped Gepetto and others in that form, he no longer wanted to be a cricket? The BF’s spell wasn’t meant to be a punishment on him.

ParticipantHopper was not born a cricket, so I don’t know if he would turn back into one. Rumpel’s curse is interesting–it is unclear why he didn’t go all scale skin the moment magic came back. I have a theory that Belle’s love broke the “skin deep” part of his curse–the ugly shell. Not the rest of it.

ParticipantJefferson says in Hat Trick ” And destroy her reality? I’m trapped by knowledge. How cruel do you think I am? You think I’d inflict that awareness on my daughter? It’s hard enough to live in a land where you don’t belong. But knowing it, holding conflicting realities in your head…will drive you mad.”
I think it sounds more like two sets of memories in that the realities conflict.

ParticipantThe visibility of the JR is a bonafide plot hole–but I think we don’t see it invisible after Cora dies. So I go with it ended with her death, although not all her enchantments did (like Tiny).

ParticipantWe have had some really long threads on this subject over in the episode section, back when all we were going on was spoilers and promos. I”m starting to lose track of what variation of theories we’ve talked about and haven’t but I’m not sure I like the idea of Rumpel having been taken to NL as a boy pre-Dark One. It’s possible as nothing would contradict that having happened–but I want being trapped in NL to have been something Bae and Hook shared that Rumpel did not. I just think it sets up some better conflict and dynamics, and Rumpel’s a bit over-used in a way, much as I love him.
I think I still prefer the idea that PP is nothing but a shadow (but not the one we saw). The scene where Felix talks about the ripping is the scene where you see Felix’s shadow on the door next to Hook–it’s quite noticeable as all the boys walk out of the cabin next to Hook, and their shadows appear, and Felix is the last and his appears as well.
From there I like the idea that Rumpel cut a deal with the shadow of some sort–originally we thought to find Bae, but that’s been disproven. So the other was that he wanted him to find the “undoing” boy. That seems off in the timeline. So now I think the deal was later on and it was ironic that Bae was there and Peter wanted Henry–but Rumpel did not know–because the deal he made was for that curse that Rumpel eventually had Regina cast.

Participant110. If you need dating advice, ask Charming. There IS a reason he’s called that.

It’s happened in real life! The link goes to an article about that.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. ParticipantPosssibly–but Jefferson was a wee bit off his rocker. Would BF have trusted him? I would LOVE if the story goes that way, but I am doubtful because of how Jefferson acted to Emma and Snow. Also, how would that exiled to WL fairy or house-bound Jefferson keep track of Emma? Either you got dragged with the curse and lost memories, or you had to have some way to get to the land without magic besides the curse.
