Everything everyone’s said ! I’m also looking forward to the new spin-off and how it crosses over with Once.

Maybe they were just hastily written bridge characters and it will never quite add up. Gold was pretty dismissive of GOAT and odds are, they will be revealed as deluded foot soldiers of PP and die a pretty uneventful death (maybe they deliver Henry to PP and he just waves a hand and they die). I know some people feel like the sooner they’re gone the better, but I would prefer some of the plot holes get fixed with some more story-spackle. I also kind of want Greg to have that chance to redeem himself–he and Tamara attempted something bigger than our Villains (taking out all of FTL people rather than say, a village….torturing rather than squeezing a heart), but it is possible they knew that the fail safe wouldn’t actually go off.
Weren’t they busy trying to destroy all their files? Why bother if the whole town would be pulverized by trees and shrubs spouting up.

If they have an inside contact it probably was not a character we met.

Maybe Belle can find some info in the stuff they left.

I have to agree that they wouldn’t be likely to put the effort in to use the character names, as it is not public domain. If they really wanted they could work out rights. I think Time Warner did the last film adaptation. Yet they can get more impact just playing with some of the themes, so why bother?

I first thought of Lord of the Flies as more of a joke, back in the thread after SSTR when we are batting around ideas of why the shadow only wanted boys–before we had seen Felix. I just name checked it off the cuff, and then said it would be terrible. After reading your post running with the idea, and then the discussion here, I like the complexity it could add. Yet it is still a show for 8pm Sunday, and one that wants to put a more hopeful spin in the end, so it will likely just be a background influence (like others have said some of Steven King’s works are in the show–King in turn was influenced by Golding’s novel…). Rumpel’s not the only one with connections!

Aurora, I’m assuming, can use the poppies that Mulan knew about to force her to a deep sleep like they did for Snow.

I am not sure about MAP getting Neal to SB–that might be the major plot point is they have to find a way to get to SB or contact someone there.

I never saw LOST…..hm….maybe they totally are going to reference it. Look out for Ralph, Piggy or Jack as character names and a conch shell …could be clues! I mean, they could just easily have random Lost Ones have those names, and at one point a random set prop of the shell and they’d pretty much weave it in without having to do much.

Lord of the Flies is just such a dark story but It IS a classic story at this point, so I do wonder if they would go there. The boys on the island begin to be paranoid about a monster on the island, and I know they end up killing in fear of it. There are power struggles, group think/dynamics (like say, people who get all cult-crazy…like GOAT.), as well as sacrifices and weird rituals they concoct–to borrow a phrase from RumplesGirl–Oh My Gold….maybe they are going to do a take on it. The last time it was adapted in English for a movie version–the director was Harry Hook.

If they do….I am just… 😮 😯 😮 but kind of excited as well.

Depends on the character and why. Elmo or Tarzan for example do it to imply lack of command of the language. Sometimes it’s done to indicate a lack of self (like Dobby in Harry Potter) or too much importance of self (like Voldemort or and even Hook. Captain Hook in J. M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan and Wendy” (1911): ” ‘Better for Hook,’ he cried, ‘if he had had less ambition!’ It was in his darkest hours only that he referred to himself in the third person.”)
Generally though–KFChimera agrees it is annoying for the third person reference 😛 😆

So my new theory on the Home Office–all that hate magic stuff was just a sham explanation Greg and Tamara gave to fool Regina and especially Hook to throw them off the PP trail.

I bet there will be this tension where Henry knows Neal is alive but the others do not or do not believe him. I think it is most likely that Aurora has the poppy to get a deep sleep but Snow does not. Henry is somewhere scary & a kid. So Snow may not be able to contact Henry that way, but if they do it will get cut off (maybe PP minions figure out what Henry is doing).

    But I like the theory!

If it were just a plot device, they could just show each other the diamond of doom, no need to have that extra dialog of “don’t be jealous” and all that.

I have to rewatch it–but do they talk about Neal in front of Hook? Maybe that’s how he knew Neal = Bae.

I’m just trying to figure out whether the “hate magic” was an act they put on for show to keep Hook of all people (someone who had been in NL) from guessing they were connected with PP?
