Red can be sheriff, Katherine/ Abi can be Mayor (she wanted to go to law school), Pino can fill the Henry role of wandering about getting into trouble. Belle can run the shop and help return the items to rightful owners, discovering the mirror.

Hm..I was thinking that one aspect they may leave out was Tiger Lilly and her tribe–what if instead of that, the mermaids are the original inhabitants of Neverland. So many ideas to play with there from the title–there’s a thread on the forums on how one must “never” land or you can’t escape, how it is a land where there’s never time, but maybe there’s a story of how there was never land there in this world until PP and his shadow minion/followers showed up. So maybe the mermaids aren’t the evil ones at all, just displaced and looking to regain their home.

Yes, they had to adapt, and there are always surprises to them too I’m sure that derail one plan or another. What’s neat is how often things seem such a good fit when maybe it wasn’t planned ahead of time–but then, some of our crack theories do pretty well at first blush until the show goes a different direction. Maybe it isn’t so hard to make things seem to fit in thinking they were planned all along after all!

They do look eerily alike, the actress for Grace and Alice. As Alice would say, curioser and curioser.

I don’t think the characters are going to be related though, not given what they have said about the timeline that it is after magic came to SB.

    Wishlist–

I love the elaborate costumes, so more scenes with that.
I want Pan and the Shadow, and HO stuff to make sense…and lead to meeting other classic characters briefly. I mean one episode brief, so that they have a complete arc to a happy ending (helped of course by our heroes) and we know we’re done with them (like Hansel and Gretel).
I want Ariel, and this is an exception to what I just said, but I want her to have a bigger arc.
I don’t want Neal’s journey back to be protracted–I want him to end up back in NL or SB so he can play a role in rescuing Henry and everyone else too.
I want answers on who wrote the book and how Henry got to SB.
I don’t want more “plot device” fairy. If we need a plot devicey thing about a portal, can they at least name check Jefferson if we can’t have him back in the season to actually be in a scene?
I want them to have a line of dialog that explains that Ruby is busy being acting Sheriff.
I do want some more back story on the previous Dark Ones, and all the character’s past experiences.

Pixie Dust might be the key–but what is that stuff in NL? The original PP fairies are created from a baby’s first laugh, but this is a darker neverland. Are they created from children’s tears or something? And what might they then make fairy dust from! Maybe it is not the same as the FTL ones who mine diamonds (or rather have dwarfs do it for them, dwarfs who apparently lay eggs to breed. )

I’m glad Meghan found another show. I grew to really like her character, but I have to agree she doesn’t fit into the NL arc too easily. They could have made some room for her though if they had really wanted to keep her in the mix, just as we HOPE they are doing with Belle.
The biggest thing I take out of her interview is this: A&E kind of got a new idea, and started flipping things around to play with that. It tells me that though there may be a vague idea of the end of the story in their minds, certainly the start, that not every detail has been completely meticulously planned. They did want Hook in S1–but it sounds like much of this NL story is something they started to come up with after S2 started. She mentions they “brought the girls back early”. Perhaps that’s why Cora’s arc felt kind of short–maybe it was truncated. They wanted time to build up to NL in the finale and play out this new idea of PP flipped on its head.

Maybe they can still give us some snippets of dialog from Belle, Whale or Granny at some point that reference her having interacted with them offscreen, until she can manage to guest star in something.

At least A&E let Megan know in time to get cast in another show, one that I think I’ll try to watch too.

Then again, he also has the most tenuous connection to the others as family. If everything turns on his sense of connection and attraction to Emma and longing for family, what happens if they find out Neal is alive?

Different folks will have different interpretations, but I read his motivation as being about Bae, Milah, and Hook’s own regrets. Milah and Hook wanted to form a family with Bae years ago. Hook was to be Bae’s stepfather, basically. Leaving Bae was Milah’s greatest regret, and righting that situation would have been a far greater way to honor her than Hook’s quest for vengeance. Hook started to try to do the right thing by Bae, but he gave up when it got too hard. Of course an angry teenage boy wasn’t going to just fall right into Hook’s arms. All the adults in Bae’s life played a role in events, and he was angry at them all and feeling abandoned. He was right that Hook had previously wanted to use him to get revenge on Rumple, but Hook needed to be the adult instead of acting out in return. Turning Milah’s son over to the Lost Ones was a betrayal of her memory, and she would have been outraged. On the launch Bae looked so betrayed yet again, and Hook looked quite guilty in return. He didn’t protect what was important to him, and he regretted it. Like Rumple, he’s there to honor Bae now. When they find Bae’s alive, Hook gets a chance to make things finally right with Bae. Hook has a place in the family already, and he still represents Milah’s memory and wishes for her son and grandson. Just my two cents.

I like that interpretation of his motivation better as there is less call to backslide, but it depends on the writers wanting to create conflict or not. I absolutely agree with you about the failure of Hook to honor Milah’s wishes. Especially the part I marked in Green. You put this so well –Hook acted out of hurt in a way that put Bae’s life in danger. Not just “not cool” but a pretty petty and rotten thing to do to any 14 year old let alone the one who could have been like a son to you. I would like to think he is trying to right that wrong rather than just feeling sorry for himself and lonely, but I do worry the writers might have some twists in store. It’s the kind of thing they did with Regina after all–you see that vulnerability, that search for love, then they’ll do something (as A&E put it) really stupid to try to get it. It really is parallel to Regina blaming a 12 year old Snow for not keeping a secret.

Regina asked “Who is Jefferson” when Emma mentioned him at the start of this season, when Emma was trying to get the hat to work to save Regina’s life from the wraith. Regina isn’t just reluctant to put her cards on the table, she actively tries to pretend she doesn’t even have any cards. We have to see how far her redemption sticks this time but those kind of old habits die hard sometimes.

As far as mermaids go, I’m wondering what twists they will do. They’ve already created the siren character and the original PP already put the idea out there that mermaids weren’t too nice, but more like wild creatures. Maybe Ariel is enough of a twist there even if a lot of fans are anticipating that. Would they need to do something bigger?

Mermaids were not nice in the original Peter Pan, and we’ve already seen a nasty Siren in Lake Nostros, would they
