ParticipantThat is a good point–Rumpel thought he could not get the hat to go to the land without magic, but had no trouble going to the Land without color. Of course we don’t see him trying the hat, so it could be an erroneous assumption on his part. Yet if we assume that, it means the BF lied as where Bae went would have had magic (or Bae ended up in the wrong spot).

ParticipantSo those are your least favorite Mommys–which are your favorites? Or are you admiring Cindy for being willing to take on Rumpel /Gold to keep her child?
Milah also could make my list. Anyone who has spent any time with a baby knows they do not just smile cutely at you, so I don’t necessarily fault her for handing off Bae to go outside. Then again, I think the writers were trying to imply she wasn’t thinking “oh my aching back & head…..Calgon take me away”…so much as “hot pirate take me away, I’m done with this”

ParticipantIt’s probably a bit much to spoiler a theory on another blog that could have been posted here, that is true, but I wanted to be polite. It only takes a click to undarken it, but for normal spoilers, it can be quite annoying if they are not covered. Even in the spoiler section, we discuss by episode, so sometimes people spoil multiple episodes and a person only wanted to see what was ahead for the next one. Sometimes people also reference other shows–and I have not yet seen Lost and people are always revealing things about it. I know it has been off the air long enough people think ok, fair game, but I do appreciate it when I have the choice not to read about some aspect that OUAT is just like because the big twist was this or that.
It would be awesome if one could automatically turn off all spoiler bars (is there a setting to do so? I don’t even know!) so people who don’t care could just see everything, but I’d rather have them available.

ParticipantI just hope the Sarlacc pit is not where Neal does end up!!! 😮 😮 😮 I can picture A&E just saying “Well look, we didn’t KILL him did we?”

Jiminy’s parents were the worst. As awesome an episode it was, I still don’t understand why he couldn’t just run away once he got older. I mean, he wasn’t able to escape his parents for 40 or so years? 😆 😆
Exactly, Cora had taken her heart out–Jimminy is a poor doormat of a guy because his parents reared him to be a tool for them. That is how bad a job they did.

Merida makes 11- but there is a huge uproar over disney giving her a makeover (she’s slimmer, has bigger wider eyes, flasher dress & not a frizzy lock in sight)- I think they should leave how she is personally (It was nice to have a ‘real’ princess for a change).
I think my hair might turn bright red, curl and I’ll pick up a bow and shoot it in the general direction of whatever executive is in charge (though just a warning shot!) if they give her a prince too–especially if it is the arrogant McIntosh guy. It’d be kind of funny if its Dingwall though. I could totally see some exec at Disney giving her a classic sort of Prince, because they’ve done exactly that type of thing before.
My daughter loves those Princess Sing-Along videos where they do a Princess Tea. At the end of the video they have all the Disney Princesses dancing with their partners–but they included the character Melody, who is in a sequel as Ariel’s daughter. She is supposed to be only 12 (inexplicably dancing next to the 16 year old version of her mother….). Anyway, she has no real romance interest in the movie, but they have her dancing with the boy shown in her movie that she dances with at her birthday party–but he is supposed to be kind of a rude, stuck up kid (at least, you don’t get the feeling Melody or he would ever want to dance together again). But a Princess must have a prince and so there you go, they’re dancing! 😆 😆@Surayya wrote:
since it’s mothers day & all- it wouldn’t seem right to say ‘oops! take out cause I was online obsessing over CS rather than cooking you a special dinner’ 😉 😆 )
Hm but if you are the momma, does it then give you the excuse to say “I’m not cooking because I am obsessing over OUAT in general?” Cause that’s my general plan today.

ParticipantThanks for the photos RG! Yes, it is interesting seeing them side by side, and I had not thought of the clock to Tick Tock connection. I can’t wait until the finale–will it punch a big hole in this theory or simply leave things open enough over the summer that we continue to wonder?

ParticipantYes that photo definitely triggers the Chekov’s gun rule. but things can always be red herrings too.
So much fun to speculate–good thing, cause that’s all we get over the summer 🙁 😆

ParticipantNonnie– 😆 I still have a hard time picturing everyone going from heating and air conditioned homes with plumbing to their little hovels….yeah, Rumpel and the Charmings have it made in FTL, but what about everyone else?

There’s also the disconnect some people felt between how they idealized Baelfire would be as an adult and how he actually turned out to be, partially for the reasons you mentioned abouve. And then there’s that rival ship bias: no matter how much the show innocents Neal of what some Captain Swan shippers perceive as “crimes” against Emma they’ll never accept that and still see him as a low life. 🙂
Just as the characters are complex, so are the people watching and reacting! It’s not just CS of course, there are those fans of other pairings with Emma, or those who want Emma to be more empowered in general, but yes it feeds into it, just as there’s extra flack that people perceive for Hook along similar lines. Then there’s also the question of our own bias about what we perceive in the first place. So if someone simply types out something trying to be factual (such as, Neal left Emma and she went to jail for his crime or Hook shot Belle and she lost all her memories) fans of that character might start to feel the character is being maligned in some way, even if no judgement is really being implied there.

ParticipantBlacked out so people read the theory first, again, not a spoiler–RG, I agree the timeline here might not track, but I'm so confused about the timeline issues anyway I'll just go with it.
This theory would give a good reason why Rumpel ever encountered Dr. F in the first place. It's hard to picture him having sent Jefferson to the B&W world just on the hope he'd find a guy to gaslight Regina. If he sent him there to find news of Bae, on the other hand–that would make more sense, why he deployed Jefferson there.
Back to the timeline, long as I'm confused, could it be possible that Wendy was Dr. F's mother or grandmother? It was Dr. F's mother's watch, that belonged to her father we are told in In the Name of the Brother. This in turn leads me to remember how Gerhardt dies–he gets shot just for being in a graveyard more or less. It seemed kind of drastic but the episode moved along so fast I didn't trouble me. What if that guard was sort of clamping down on necromancy type magic activities, as part of the Home Office, that's why the shooting?
Dr. F's father also says something like “Foul magician's work” about Whale's having brought Gerhardt back.
Also, why does Dr. Whale take Greg's watch? Initially we think its just a reminder of Gerhard'ts pocket watch, but there could be a secondary meaning there, like he recognized it as from his home world. I'm just reading way too much into things I know but it is fun all the same.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would.
