ParticipantI just feel like her not being recognized as a princess makes her seem less important in a way, and that really bothers me. To me she’s the savior of Rumple, and therefore a huge character.
It’s the strong female message of the show: she’s cool because of who she is and not because of who her dad is.
This!
Though I know there is the fantasy cache of the title of royalty, ultimately part of me says to reject it for the egalitarian cache of a meritocracy :).
Belle for Mayor, that is the title we should complain she does not have.

ParticipantThat’s a good set of questions. Maybe if they broke it and the laws fixed themselves quickly enough it was like it never happened?
How would you know a law was broken unless you tried it anyway?“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. ParticipantI love the bug drawing, so cute!
THat Emma shot needs a Neal in it too 😛“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. ParticipantIt is possible that’s true similar to Liz saying to Will, it doesn’t have to be love, just feel something for me! Tragic consequences of course to getting what you wish, and that could be true to Jafar’s situation as well. He doesn’t care at this point but he needs something, anything!
What makes me wonder though as I said is the unexplained resurrection. He seemed like as the Jabberwock dug in his memories, to actually die again and I wonder if he CAN die? The counterparts to genies are “ifrits” –there’s a couple of different versions of what/how they are created some involving sandstorms and murder and such.

ParticipantThat lip thing is…weird.
So …Glinda and Wicked, there’s going to be some story here. I wonder what it is.

ParticipantI just am skeptical that Jafar has his humanity intact, and maybe the Sultan knows it. Perhaps all Jafar wants is for the Sultan to love him so he can kill him and make him feel the pain he felt–the ultimate in cold revenge. Jafar’s lack of compassion for Alice’s father or for Alice who suffered so similarly to him in some ways is what makes me really wonder if Jafar does want love at all. I wonder who Jafar’s mother really was, or what she was now, and whether there’s things the Sultan knows that we don’t just yet about that whole situation. How far into middle eastern Djini mythology are they going? There are some frightening creatures.
Even if they don’t go there, something is off about Jafar’s resurrection. Did the Jabberwock perhaps have a hand in it? Magic isn’t supposed to bring you back from the dead, so what did bring him back?
Maybe Jafar will turn a corner and he will join the others to defeat the Jabberwock, realize he doesn’t need the Sultan’s love and be redeemed–but its not so bad to have one villain we’re meant to root against, because they have so little time left in this story for a good redemption arc to play out meaningfully. I adore Naveen Andrews and know he can play very complicated and layered characters, but so far Jafar seems to be wound too tightly around his own path of revenge to where he’s shown too little compassion for others.
I suppose we’ll see.

ParticipantI think that no MAN can kill the Jabberwocky but a WOMAN might be able to.
I like that head canon
So Alice is Eionwyn (LOTR?)…?
I wonder if the Jabba, Jaffar and the RQ end up trapped as genies in the other bottles?

ParticipantCheers to all the SF (and other artists).
Can’t wait to start seeing the Fan Art Friday. Rooting for the ducks because they have had lots of painting/drawing–time for some crochet to make the scene!

ParticipantSince we know Z’s bad news but they don’t, its sort of like Season 1 in that we knew Regina was a evil queen and she knew it but no one in the town did. So Z knows it and we do but no one else–except of course, if she has Rumple hidden away, he knows it but like Zoso before him can only act in limited ways–just like S1 really. Rumple had to be pretty cagey not to tip off Regina either in S1
Next big question : where does the flying monkey fit into this!? Is he meant to keep tabs on Emma, or keep her away? If so, that sort of cuts against luring Henry into town for Z to buddy up with him to annoy Regina. So maybe Z didn’t want Emma & Henry to show up but still hard for me to think she knows Regina and somehow just didn’t know about Henry, but maybe she didn’t know anything about the SB years, just that Regina was the Queen instead of her.
