Ok, I can’t seem to copy that image that someone posted with Wendy holding something in her hand is that a Mermaid in her hand ❓
Can Wendy be both Ariel and Wendy ❓
I thought that was a statue of Peter? I just can’t see them merging Ariel and Wendy together like that. It’s not like Wendy is a Storybrooke counterpart or anything. They are also fairly different, character trait wise.
And Rumpel and a crocodile and Beast? Ruby and the wolf (with a boyfriend Peter no less….). IF they can connect it in a way that makes sense, then I am all for it. In a way, both Wendy and Ariel wanted to be part of a different world (although Wendy eventually misses her own). In the original versions of each tale, their love is unrequited. Both girls are spunky.
It’s too bad because an actress who can sign really did seem like a good choice for playing a character known for losing her voice….but oh well. The best thing if she is not Ariel is, we can still hope for Ariel to have that iconic red hair 😆

ParticipantIf you are willing to see spoilers, there are a lot of theories in that part of the forum.
Up in this section, all I can say is I agree that Tamara and Greg may have different agendas from each other.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantI agree that some worlds would just be too much and ruin the feel of the show. There’s a balance to how many “toys” they take off the shelf and mix together in this story. I’m all for a few crazy things from left field, but some references are better as parallels or nods rather than straight up incorporating them in (like, say Mickey mouse). Sadly I think that means a lot of the Pixar stories, as well as Star Wars are probably too different in their modern feel from “fairytales and classic tales” to be blended in. Of course, if they introduce Nemo and have that character literally jumping a shark….I’d give them a pass on that. 😆
I do like the idea of the Darlings running a magic hunter club–think Rumplesgirl suggested elsewhere that maybe Dorothy could lead something.

ParticipantWell…there is that famous quote from Arthur Clarke that magic and science really are the same–“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” So makes sense there is a price either way!

ParticipantI don’t want Hook to lose his spirit, just his revenge. We’ll have to learn more about him, but at this point, I think it is a pretty big leap to say “he just wants to settle down.” I don’t think he has THOUGHT about what might be next, or that there would be a “next”. That was what I took from his comments to Regina.
I agree with Sarah that Emma might like a little adventure, and that couples in love often change a little to be with each other. Though, I really don’t see a “big happy family” around a TV kind of thing.
Hookian, as with your other post where you talk about a scene jump, I think you’re downplaying GOAT’s role in the show. That scene jump seemed to me to connect Emma’s worry about the danger to SB with the two who are the danger. Similarly, Hook didn’t kill Mallificient –they did. I do agree that Hook is on a journey, but he is still playing the anti-hero type role. He anticipated Regina would betray him, and he actually betrayed her in anticipation, or else GOAT wouldn’t have been there. Perhaps if she hadn’t betrayed him, he would have helped her with GOAT–he’s a pirate. We know he’s the type to shift sides when the odds change.
Now we’ll have to wait to see him do something that does not just further his revenge or save himself or undo a harm he caused or helped to cause in the first place. We need to SEE his heroic moment. Even better if Emma sees it–like if he warns the town, even though it means Rumpel gets away from him. We need to see him pick the good side and stick to it, even though it might cost him the one thing that’s been motivating him for years. That to me is the most likely heroic moment for him….cause I don’t think his revenge thing is going to work out. Rumpel’s too important :).
That’s the kind of change I think that would set up CS pretty well.

Seeing Mal again, creepy and weird, but don’t like the implication she’s done for now, courtesy of GOAT.
The cross and double cross between Hook and Regina.
Greg’s “I’m a man on a mission” line—I feel that must be a reference to some movie somehow.
Least Favorite:
Regina telling Henry with a straight face that she will be a hero by killing everyone. We need Inigo Montoya to pop up and say “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it does.”“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. ParticipantIts the romantic in me, but I would like to see Ruby be the reason Whale doesn’t just sell everyone out. 😉 He’s not from FTL really, so hard to say whether Greg would lump him in with the rest or not, and which side he would fall on. I think he’s bonded with the town folk enough to not work with GOAT, should GOAT approach him.

ParticipantDoesn’t Peter also say that to live would be a big adventure? This idea of Peter as someone caught between life and death is a great parallel to the wraith and what it supposedly did. Not that the shadow is the wraith but that type of magic is connected to Neverland. There is someone on the board that keeps mispelling Neverland as Netherland, and commonly we refer to the land of the dead as Netherworld. So I’m thinking Neverland isn’t quite the Disney land that’s all cute and fluffy, with fairies and such. It’s really a dark place that ties in to the imagery one associates with a netherworld that houses lost spirits.
That aside there’s another line Barie wrote in Peter Pan that makes me think of someone:
It was then that Hook bit him.
Not the pain of this but its unfairness was what dazed Peter. It made him quite helpless. He could only stare, horrified. Every child is affected thus the first time he is treated unfairly. All he thinks he has a right to when he comes to you to be yours is fairness. After you have been unfair to him he will love you again, but he will never afterwards be quite the same boy. No one ever gets over the first unfairness; no one except Peter.”
― J.M. Barrie, Peter PanIf this is a show about hope, if you have a child that can eventually forgive abandonment….that might be something we see in the show.

ParticipantI agree we are due for some Tamara back story–it seemed to me that she and Greg likely met within the organization for which they work. I’m not sure why I got that vibe, but I don’t think it is just that she met him and got swept up in his quest.

ParticipantSnow says to disguised Regina that in her mind the Queen was in too much pain and looking for someone to blame. The she sees the bodies and changes her mind. Yet we know she changes her mind back again at the scene in the Cricket Game flashback, where Regina was about to be executed.
So now I wonder this–what made her change her mind back? What good did she see in Regina after the village slaughter?
