    28. Don’t pay your federal or state income tax. You don’t officially exist out there anyway.

    29. If you file a claim for insurance, and list “giant threw my car,” expect to be rejected.

    30. If you see a wolf with different colored eyes–that is not Ruby, so be careful. If you do not see this wolf, don’t worry. It won’t be the only thing to mysteriously vanish after you thought it might be more important than it turned out to be.

    31. If you are out wandering in the woods, make sure Mary Margret is not shooting arrows. She occasionally misses her target. Unless you are made of wood, it will hurt.

    32. Don’t worry about overcrowding a small loft apartment. There are no occupancy limits in the leases.

    33. If you change your mind about living space, check the obituaries. ( A small trailer and a large house on the edge of town with a nice garden have just become available.)

    34. There’s also a room with a view in the clock tower above the library that’s now available for public use as a storage facility.

    35. If your child needs to miss school for a few weeks, don’t worry, the teachers aren’t there either.

So true–that goes for every character we see. I really hope the show moves away from implying magic inherently makes you bad as it almost does sometimes.

Suraya–I think there may be something to the physical violence versus magical violence thing but really, we’ve seen Rumpel be more bloody and brutal (“cane-o-pain” anyone?). It also could be the ship thing, but there is one more element. Hook is a season 2 character.

People wanted to see their faves from season 1. MAP got a lot of hate too. Belle was introduced in S1 as was Cora. Neal turned out to be Bae, also introduced in S1. So they weren’t as “new”.

S3 will start this all over with whatever new characters come in then.

I assume Hook would change a lot to be with Emma. Not so much he loses what makes him interesting. I don’t want a “mini-David” any more than Emma should be Snow.
With that in mind–my reaction to your questions Toothfairy:

Loyalty— Love motivates Hook, not just anger. If he only cared about vengeance, he would have burned Milah’s shawl so Rumpel’s desire to find his son would be thwarted.

Looks–There is nothing wrong in digging the eye candy, as long as that is not the ONLY thing a character has going on. They’ve given Hook some inner conflict and a sly intelligence. I loved his interactions with Cora. He has great banter too (though I could do without some of the over-the-top cheesy “hook” up lines).

History— He does not enjoy killing in and of itself. He lies and uses deceit to help him get what he wants without needing force, but he is ready to fight if it comes to that. Yes, he has been willing to kill, even murder (his words about the journey to wonderland), but only as necessary to getting his vengeance. He limited his collateral damage when he could and seemed to feel conflicted when he couldn’t. So I don’t think there’s much in his history that would prevent him from being believed if he turned a new leaf and hung up the hook.

Empathy. There was that subtle scene with him kicking fish guy into the water after Cora transformed the fisherman. Then what he said about rescuing the falling heart. He could show more, sure, but he was used in a fairly limited portion of the story so far. We’ll get more, I’m sure.

To Price of Magic: Hook doesn’t have to forget her, but I see it parallel to the story of Superman. His first love was Lana Lang, but when he became more than just “Clark Kent” he found Lois Lane who loved him for more than being the boy next door (at least in some versions of that story). Milah loved Killian Jones, the pirate. Emma could fall in love with the man as he is now, after living so many years in Neverland and all he has been through. He’d be a different person (but still sassy).

While this rules out the possibility of Rufio in the Once version of NL, it doesn’t exclude the possibility of Pan being more of a leadership title, similar to the title of the Dark One.

I have to agree, the fact the writers were pitching that character, that A&E talked about it in an interview does suggest there’s an element of Pan being a title belonging to whoever is the current leader of the lost boys.

Now I’m picturing a concert poster, with that picture someone had of Rumpel, Whale and Jefferson posing as a band, as the headliners, and then Captainfire as the opening act.

Ah the little moments of mother/daughter love :).

I wish Greg had seemed more like a pawn, because now a happy reunion with Kurt seems more unlikely to me. Poor Kurt. Loses his wife, then his son, and if he should ever meet the son, he won’t be proud if Greg is a villain. 😥 The only thing that could possibly justify Greg’s actions is if he does think the entire town is part of a conspiracy and they are a threat to the rest of the world– cue the Boss singing “We take care of our own”.

I wish we had a little more of a glimpse into what Hook was thinking about doing post-revenge, before GOAT shoved reality in his face. He’s talking about being satisfied, but he seemed a little unhinged too. Could that experience be the start for him of some small part of him realizing he is on the wrong track with this vendetta? Sometimes, you don’t know something isn’t worth having until you get a taste of it. Though he did seem plenty mad to see Rumpel alive, so it would have at best been a fleeting thought.

Oh, I’m certain we will see him in S3- I’m just wondering if he have confirmation on how much is all 😉
KFChimera I’m also hoping he is going to at least be a regular (esp given I’m sure we didn’t get to see everything they had planned for Hook this season, since Colin had a broken leg) & not be demoted to reoccurring or guest role.

I know I’m sure they had to scramble a lot because of the leg. Here’s hoping they can rework something even more exciting than plan A.

Regina just topped her mother’s “I’m not wicked” line in terms of delusion. She tells Henry she’s going to do the exact thing she said only a few episodes “he would never forgive” and then expects him not only to forgive, but actually think her a hero for it! Gold did say Regina would be worse than Cora since Regina has a heart but still does evil. We’re starting to see it.

I agree with Rumplesgirl–no one knows how to be sneaky. Par for the course. They should rename Granny’s the “diner of overheard conversations.”

Sneak Peak #3 – I think Emma is right to not trust to Tamara and she is doing everything she can to warn her mother but just that list alone won’t convince Snow that Tamara is not on the up & up but I think it will convince David & Rumple. I still think that it is Hook who gives GOAT that information about the residents of Storybrooke. Henry will most likely overhear Snow & Emma’s conversation and will go to Neal about it, I think he will also hear Emma tell Snow that she doesn’t have feelings for Neal, which she clearly does and Snow can see it and I wouldn’t be surprised if Henry picks up on that as well.

Snow is wrong about Emma’s superpower not functioning, because it is a safe assumption that Tamara is actually lying. So then I conclude that Emma wasn’t being too emotional (or her power wouldn’t work). So that makes me feel Emma protests were just frustration at not being believed.

The odd thing is, so far we haven’t seen Henry say a peep about Emma and Neal being together. Maybe Snow is just guessing that he would probably want that, because that would be a common response. I just thought Henry was very open to Tamara at the bagel breakfast. He’s already got 2 mothers, what’s one more? Until he knows the new potential mom is all kinds of bad news of course! So where does this come from with Snow, is that what she wants?

I’m still on the fence about Emma’s feelings. At one point I did think she had walls up and wasn’t being true even with herself, but in this scene I had the opposite vibe. Of course it is one scene out of context and we didn’t get to see the scene where Tamara is lying. Could it be another technically Tamara wasn’t lying kind of thing, such as with Greg ‘s response that he saw nothing unusual?

The logic of Emma’s superpower is really giving me a headache!
