You have just articulated almost all my thoughts about this subject lol
I’ve matched font colours in response, so I don’t have to break up the quote & have black boxes everywhere 😉That’s a good idea! I thought mostly along the same lines as what you answered.

The little side comment about August stealing less of Neal’s money hints that maybe Neal has talked to Emma a bit about what happened. Unfortunately, we DO have to assume a lot of stuff that happens between episodes sometimes…
I thought the same. It is like the conversation we didn’t get about Neal’s reaction to Regina adopting Henry. I am still not sure that Regina knows who he is, or is she thinking “Gold’s son is as much of a meddler as he is.”

Maybe Emma thinks Neal is in league with Tamara and Greg.
I could see Emma thinking maybe Neal is supporting Tamara's anti-magic agenda, but the part that throws me is “and Greg”. She may not be the sharpest sheriff on the block but if she knew Tamara and Greg knew each other, she is going to channel Rumpel in Manhattan. “You two know each other.. You two KNOW each other…..” And more importantly for this thread, how is Emma going to react to Hook working with Tamara and Greg? Or does he turn them down flat, or betray them at the right moment ? Do you think Hook would hurt Regina/put her at risk, and would Emma care at this point if he did? What if he saves Regina?

ParticipantI find sometimes there are characters I “love” to hate, and then some I hate but don’t want to ever see again. The ones I love to hate I wouldn’t mind seeing more of their story at some point.
Also I sometimes hate what Regina and Rumpel do, but am always interested to see more of their story, and don’t really hate either of them, because I am rooting for them to change.
I’m not sure about Tamara. Right now, I’d put her in the Hate and “dont let the door hit you on the way out” category, but will have to see why she is doing what she is if she can move up to the “love to hate” category.
Love to hate, but want to see more story of them so I can hate them some more:
I hated Jimminie’s parents, but was oddly amused by them too.I hated Cora for choosing power and for being so cavalierly evil (yet I felt the story needed a villain of that chilling caliber).
I hate James for being an all around…well everything Charming is not.
And Maleficient…actually, I didn’t even hate her, since we had such a short glimpse of her brand of evil, but I want to see more.
Hate and don’t want darkening the screen again:
King George/Spencer just annoys me. He murdered Gus/Gus to frame Ruby to undermine David. It was just stupid and convoluted. He even had the gall to say he didn’t murder a person, just hacked up a mouse. I suppose Cora makes a similarly deluded comment when she says she isn’t wicked, but at least she realized she was killing other human beings. She just didn’t care as might made right to her. George on the other hand, he dehumanized his victims (because Ruby is a were-wolf, Gus was a mouse) to excuse what he did. So George is not evil enough to be chilling like Cora, but there’s something I just find annoying about him.And the Blind Witch…..gravy or butter? Appallingly evil creature yes to eat little children, enough in itself to hate her, but on top of that, apparently she has so little problem gaining weight that she can worry about which fat to drip on her meals and live in a house of sweets. Of course I hate her. 😆

But, luckily, this is Once, and there’ll be other stories intertwined.
That is what I like about the show. I think the showrunners are writing this one so likely some big stuff will happen for the plot more than just Rumbelle fluff, plus I want to see the take on Robinhood..

ParticipantThe only people I can’t imagine Emma ever threatening with a gun are MM, Charming or Henry. She doesn’t trust Neal enough right now to put him in that category of faith despite overwhelming circumstantial evidence. Still, she isn’t going to threaten him for no reason, so something probably happens, whether that’s to Henry or perhaps Tamara frames Neal for August’s death. I’m sure there will be context for the scene, and I agree it seems like it could be a fleeting moment, not a significant one.

ParticipantWe disagree about the personalities of all the characters to one extent or another. I do agree that we need more backstory on Hook, and I am particularly interested in seeing how he interacted with Neal.

Rumple might be willing to help Gregmara get Regina, even if he wasn’t involved in the actual torture sequence. After all, his deals have always been pretty binding, and he DID promise Belle HE wouldn’t hurt Regina.
I don’t see GOAT approaching Rumpel, or if they did, that he would want to deal with them. I can totally see Rumpel selling out Regina, but he doesn’t trust people from the outside world. He suggested letting Greg Mendel die to avoid revealing the town. I also think Greg doesn’t trust anyone in the town. As for Tamara, well, Rumpel won’t react kindly to Tamara playing his son, which she would have to reveal if she tried to make a deal about Regina. So I don’t see how GOAT and Rumpel would work together at this point in the story.
Hook, on the other hand, is a different story. Since it is likely that Tamara encountered Hook in the closet, perhaps that is what led to what we see in the Promo where she sounds like she is recruiting Hook. He wouldn’t draw a line at hurting Regina either. Regina and Hook were not friends, just convenient allies who would both cross and doublecross the other as the situation and their need for the other’s help changed.
Of course, he’d feel the same way about GOAT, so he could shift his allegiance away from them too.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Yeah, I’d really dislike to see Regina & Hook together.
Agree with KF- they had no chemistry that I saw at all & it would just be plain uncomfortable to watch- like watching Regina hit on David 🙄 …. *shudders*I found that uncomfortable because she was manipulating him and while we knew it, David didn’t. I don’t see Regina manipulating Hook in such a one-sided way (or Hook fooling Regina in terms of romance). I don’t dislike the idea of them per se, because I think any lasting pairing for either of them will involve some growth or change. I just don’t think they are likely to bring out the best in each other.

Regina would do better with someone innately ‘chilled, kind & more introverted/quiet’ to support her, she is well damaged from being Cora’s daughter, to the point of convincing herself 10 yr old Snow was responsible for the death of Daniel, despite Cora killing Daniel in front of her own eyes- pretty sure she takes the ‘most screwed up award’ on Once so far & that’s not an easy title to claim lol 😉 😆 😆 😆
Personally I think Neal’s character would do better for Regina (as things stand now), than Hook’s- he’s to …’big/ gregarious & honor bound’ in personality for her- Hook’s reaction to Emma betraying him at the top of the beanstalk was genuine & what he told her in the cell was also true- he wouldn’t have left her up there, so Hook & Regina would be a total train wreak by day 2 given their personalities.
Regina isn’t gregarious, but she does like to be the center of attention when she chooses (those outfits!). So I don’t see her with someone who is an introvert. Neal’s personality fits with Regina maybe even less than Hook’s does. I feel like she could manipulate Neal, just as Tamara is doing, but as I said, Hook could at least stand up to Regina. Neal seems like he avoids conflict, perhaps something that happened to him after Rumpel’s abandonment of him, and by fate having pushed him with then apart from Emma. The one thing he would have with Regina over Hook is a shared love for Henry, though I could see how Hook might have a soft spot for Henry for Milah’s sake.

Participant“Let me get my sword!” Charming responded.
Hook held up his hand. “No, the honor of my precious floor demands more than a simple sword fight. We must do something more fitting.”
