Participant😆 I love the dialog there!

This is just from an article. The writer has added in the rest. Sorry, but I don’t believe anything I hear/read unless it is specifically stated by the directors/cast/writers.
I’d go further–if they don’t put it in the show, then it doesn’t count until they do. They do sometimes change their minds or one writer thinks one thing, and the actor thinks another.
So while I wish I could find the source of what made me think Emma’s sacrifice was important somehow to Snow’s defense, it kind of doesn’t matter until there is a scene that supplies the answer.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. ParticipantI don’t bookmark interview or twitter answers, so I don’t have a link. I think the context of the question was something like “Do other true-love Babies have powers (like Cinderella’s baby) or is Emma special”. Now that I think about it, in that episode Gold tells Emma her magic comes from being true love. So if the writers changed their minds, it is kind of something they fudged and have not yet followed up on screen. If Regina takes Snow’s heart, they should either eventually show that Eva and Leo were not true love, or they should somehow explain why Emma could block Cora.

ParticipantI thought the writers said Cora could not take Emma’s heart in that moment because Emma was not her original target, and Emma was sacrificing herself to save Snow. So I’m not sure that Emma’s innate magic or status as the savior was what kept Cora at bay. I don’t think that the writers want us to think Emma (or anyone else with love) is invincible all the time. I think Regina could rip out Snow’s heart in the right circumstance.

ParticipantI have to see the context of this scene in the episode. I do think Rumpel has a hard time loving anyone besides Belle and Bae. Even then, he has trouble understanding what it means to love, to trust, to sacrifice. When it comes to Henry, even if there were not a prophecy haunting them, he might not be ready to love the kid just because of the blood tie, and more importantly to Rumpel, believe that the boy loves him. Of course, in this Rumpel might be a blind idiot, because if Henry can have love for Regina, he ought to realize Henry could love him too. And if he does know that, or feel that, and still wants to hurt Henry, THEN I agree, he reaches that point where it will be really hard to redeem him. We don’t know enough yet though to see what the writers have in store.
Maybe Emma’s magic is sort of pre-paid or else the cost of magic that comes from dark emotions is heavier.

ParticipantIt didn’t change how I felt about Cora at the point of her death. I understood how she got to that point more, but I didn’t sympathize with her.
Cora started from hardscrabble circumstances, but instead of that teaching her compassion and humility for others, it taught her to always put herself first. We see ambition, self-preservation, pride, and resourcefulness from her. We don’t see love, not that self-sacrificing, putting others first kind of love we see from other characters. Whatever she felt for Rumpel, well, it was not enough for her to feel strength from it. When Xavier tells Cora, “love is weakness,” why does she believe him? This is a man who humiliated her, who she disparaged for selling off his own flesh and blood, who just said about his son, “that there is not that much there to love”. Why does his opinion matter to her? The only reason I can think of is that she can’t stand the idea of “losing” to him, of letting him think she is weak. So she proves she is strong, by ripping her own heart out, and turning her back on love. (Ok, a creepy, dark weird destructive love, but I guess without a heart, she can’t even have any other type of love). She doesn’t just choose power. She chooses not to love. That is why I feel no sympathy for her when she dies.

ParticipantI don’t think it will water OUAT down, especially if they view it as a mini-series type thing. I do wonder also if they want to do some things that are too much for OUAT as it is on at 8pm Sunday.
The story they want to tell may not even take place in the Onciverse Wonderland. It is funny though–all they have released are character descriptions and I can already imagine people pairing Alice romantically with either of the 2 others. 😆

ParticipantI think it is also funny, that Henry having such a young step-grandmother would probably be the least weird part of his family tree, because that at least can happen in real life. (Hugh Hefner, I’m looking at you…) 😆

ParticipantI think the finale will involve going to Neverland to rescue Henry. I can think of several scenarios for how he might end up there:
— kidnapped by Hook and/or Regina
— chooses to go with Hook because he is afraid of Rumpel or Regina hurting those he loves if he stays
— stows away or is accidentally still on the ship without Hook knowing when he sails back.
I think that would be the cliffhanger at the end, and the rest would be setting up that everyone else is too busy with Greg or other plots to notice Henry is gone until too late.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantI think they parked in deep water on purpose, because the ship would be hidden better there. Cora, Hook and Regina knew of the other spot. Though they left Hook tied up, he has a way of getting out of those situations. Though that makes me wonder, how much angrier is he going to be when he realizes they jacked his ride!
