ParticipantThese are so good–really helps with the wait between episodes!

And I loved the scenes with David checking out Neal and asking if everything was ok in Gold’s shop. I could just hear the thoughts in his head “So you’re the guy who knocked up my daughter?!?!?!” But it’s not really something Prince Charming would say out loud right???
I know I go back and forth at times to the point where I’m at least torn {snip}
I definitely wanna hear from Charming though. I’m sure he’ll have an opinion at some point
We and Emma might feel torn, but if I think about how Charming feels, one guy knocked up his “baby,” the other knocked him down. If they need a filler episode, maybe they’ll be showing Charming and Snow trying to set Emma up with “nice guys like Archie”… 😆

Most of the stuff you pointed out I agree with 🙂
Thanks for actually reading what I wrote, rather than lumping it in with those previous posters then.
So here is another thing the writers might play with for Emma and Hook. He has two names, but most of the FTL people have one far as I can recall. Is he actually from another land originally? Maybe ours, though I realize the original character by Barie is very different. There’s also a hint in Barie’s play that Hook is from the aristocracy of England since in the novel version it says that he went to Eton and it says something like Hook’s identity would shock the nation. So the Ouat time writers could play with that and reveal that Hook is (like Emma is, because of Snow and Charming) displaced royalty…..not that Emma takes much notice of her status as a Princess, but it is a potential parallel.

ParticipantIf you are the adventurous and well-funded type, you could get a little closer to Chimera. Traditionally Chimera’s were supposed to be part lion, goat and snake (don’t remember what they said in the show). So you could visit an Exotic Meat Market http://www.exoticmeatmarkets.com for supplies. If I had a deep fryer, that would be what I’d try (because that was what people on the show Top Chef did with rattlesnake…and the comment of the judge was, you can fry anything and make it taste good..probably a necessity for this “chimera”).

ParticipantMy least favorite was that Regina doesn’t have one thing to say about Neal/Bae. 😯 I know, it was supposed to be an action sequence. But as others pointed out on another thread, how silly for these guys with swords to be fighting magic wielding witches…and whatever happened to “magic is different/unpredictable?” A lot to fit in to a scene, but I felt like I had to do some major mental gap filler to make sense of it.
& I agree that a Neal & Hook swordfight would be awesome–lot better than watching someone throw a knife at Regina only to see her puff into smoke before it hits her.

ParticipantThey may not have last names in FTL. Rumpel’s draft letter had only one name, and I can’t recall anyone using two names.
Edit… wait, Killian Jones/Hook uses two names, but I can’t think of many other characters that do. Could that mean something?

Agreed though I think some of that was strictly because of Colin’s leg injury, not necessarily where they had originally planned him to be at this point.
Sadly, not the first time they had (or will) have to change their game plan b/c of the actors. Jefferson, Sydney Glass, Cinderella have dangling plots we may only get answers to in interviews and chats 😥 . And how much of August's future was altered b/c of Eion's other acting gig?So at least with Colin it is a fairly short detour from what they wanted to do with Hook. 😉

What I would love to see is a magic absorbing sword on this show. For any of you anime geeks, there’s this really old series called The Slayers. One of the characters is the best swordsman alive. However, he is usually the weak link in the group because he exists in a world where the strongest are all magic users. However, it’s revealed in one episode that his sword can absorb magic, he just never figured how to do it. So one episode has a villain take control of his mind through magic. In his possessed state, he was more dangerous than usual and fully knew how to use the magic absorption abilities of his sword. He took on the whole group of good guys, all experienced magic users and came pretty close to destroying them. They barely eaked out a victory. Basically, if you can find a way to nullify a magic user’s spells, they’re easy pickings.
If David had a sword like that, the power rankings on Once Upon a Time would shift dramatically in his favor
Yes! That would be a terrific addition! Adding to the anime geeking for The Slayers, they were also able to charge the sword up with magic to make powerful attacks. While I don’t wanna see Rumple charge up David’s sword with a Dragon Slave (Lol. Actually, after typing that I kinda do…. it’d be hilarious), it would be cool to have a sword that absorbed the magic and allowed it to be directed back at the caster or another target.
I will never be able to look at David again without thinking of Gourry Gabriev, blond… accomplished swordsman… pretty… has the brain of a jellyfish. No wonder I have such a softspot for Charming. LOL
😆 I loved that series. I agree, the writers should write something like that sword in. And Charming is totally the Gourry type–especially with that “But I’m Henry’s Grandpa” line.

ParticipantThe most interesting reaction to me was Rumpel’s. His ” I did nothing” really was chilling to me, the same way Cora’s “I’m not wicked” was. In contrast, you have Snow who feels guilty, despite having quite easy rationalizations for her actions.
I can’t help but wonder also, if Rumpel looks at Regina with resentment/bitterness that she could have been his child? You can say that Cora chose power, and she did, but she also chose the possibility of a child free of some magical contract.
Does Regina know of that history? Did she overhear any of that conversation?“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. He can hope all he wants but at the end of the day Emma knows that he knew about all of it, abandoned her in jail, and as annoyed as she will hopefully be with August someday she’ll know that Neal had the option to come find her the moment the curse was broken and confess all and say he did what he did out of love…and instead was off avoiding her because of his dad and getting engaged to someone else. That does not scream love to me. Coward sure, like father like son, but he CHOSE this path. He may be nice and sweet but Emma’s right about the hurtful side. He makes bad choices and apparently hasn’t stopped making them…yet.
I agree with SOME things you say, (I say this loving Nealfire, Swanfire and liking CaptainSwan too)….Nealfire has to make up for his wrongs (sending Emma to jail SO not nice), he has made some bad choices for sure, and acted cowardly by leaving Emma because of the possibility of being reunited with his father….. BUT I think that he is a GOOD person , and he did want her to be happy and truly loves her, and that everything that happened after Manhattan, seeing her again was a total surprise for him, I believe in his mind he thought when Emma would break the curse, she would have her family, and that they would all go back to fairytale land!! We have not seen August/Neal talk about the details of the curse yet, SO we don’t know if August told him they would all go back to FTL (remember Neal acted surprised to see Emma, he told her “what are you doing here??” this could point to that theory, also to back that up Everyone in the episode “Broken” was asking themselves WHY they did not go back to FTL),
So MAYBE Nealfire though he DID NOT HAVE AN OPTION!! Emma was gone forever (I will believe that until having the writers prove me otherwise) that he would NEVER see Emma again, and as the writers have said he thought “that door was closed for him”, so that is why I think he tried to move on with Tamara, because he thought Emma was forever gone as a possibility for him, But now I guess things could change….Still I hope for Swanfire to work it out, I agree they have a LONG way to go,lots of issues to resolve, BUT maybe the could fall in love again, or maybe not…we will see…
That was my take on it too, Eastofthesun, but with one wrinkle. I think at the time Neal agreed to send Emma to jail, at least until he asked for the postcard, he thought Emma would be free once the curse was broken. Then at some point later on, August reveals that Emma won’t be in the real world when the curse is broken and tells Neal to move on. Not that anyone should take relationship advice from Pinocchio, let alone a version who has spent a decade as a bachelor in Phuket (party hot spot reputation & all). But we don’t know that Neal knew August’s FTL identity or even the story of Pinocchio. His reaction when Emma mentions Pinocchio in Manhattan was hard for me to read. Neal trusted August to give Emma money, that it seems August ran away with. So there was probably a lot August did not tell Neal. If Neal had known of Pinocchio’s reputation as a liar/puppet, would he have trusted him?
