ParticipantI kind of think so but then again, does it matter? We, and Regina, knew already that Cora was evil and manipulative. Regina watched her mother rip her love’s heart out and crush it, but she still felt love for her mother after that! In fact, I think the whole “betrayal of the secret” thing was just sort of a trumped up reason for Regina to transfer her rage at her mother to someone else. So to find out that Cora knew all along and in fact Snow wasn’t telling Cora anything Cora didn’t already know, well, I don’t see Regina suddenly thinking “Oh….I guess I didn’t have a reason to be angry at Snow!”. Snow has a kind of goodness and happiness that Regina will never have (unless a lot changes!) and so Regina will still be resentful and hate her.

ParticipantI think the person who posted a theory that Snow uses the candle to kill Cora to save Charming has it right. I don’t see Snow crossing a moral line for Rumple, but maybe it is to save him. And it is a pretty grey moral line, because Snow could be justified to kill in self-defense, or in active defense of someone else. When it came to little Snow potentially using the candle to save Eva, there wasn’t (that they knew about) someone actively threatening their lives. This time around, Cora is an active threat, so it’s not as dark a choice, but for Snow to use dark magic still sort of sullies her goodness. Especially, if she does it more out of revenge (for her mother’s death, or Johanna’s) then out of necessity (to protect someone Cora’s actively killing or torturing or something). And I think the flashbacks will serve to also humanize Cora more, just in time for us to wince a bit when Snow kills her, despite how absolutely evil and heartless they’ve made Cora to this point.
It also sets up great drama with Regina, who after all, at this time is reconciled and loving her mother. She ought to blame Cora, but she doesn’t, for anything, and she transferred all that hate to Snow. So when Snow kills Cora, that is going to unravel Regina even more, as well as creating a new story arc about how Snow can atone for crossing (no matter how much we as viewers think she was justified to do it) a moral line.

ParticipantBut why flashback to Young Cora next season? How much more is there to that story? Could we learn something about Regina’s early years that we don’t know already ? I just wonder where they are going with it. Are they effectively replacing Barbara with Rose? I mean if you have magic…and some vanity…making yourself young again may be on your agenda…

ParticipantI have mixed feelings, because I could see potential in the idea of a series. Maybe something built around the search for the Hatter’s lost wife, with him traveling through many realms, happening contemporaneously with the events in SB/OUAT timeline.
While Stan was great in the role, the switch to a new actor could be even part of the storyline. Either the hatter transforms his body somehow or is altered in some way, or the hat is literally passed to someone else who becomes the Hatter (and so the lost wife storyline might not really work then) but there’s an explanation beyond the original actor couldn’t continue.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantWell Neal’s fiance, may save us from a storyline of Neal being partnered with Regina. That would be the daytime Soap approach, because after all, Regina is the adopted mother of his son…so if nothing else, the Fiance is good for that!
