ParticipantThat is awesome! MRJ as Stitch, too cute.
I love that movie too and while Neal’s not nearly as chaotic as Stitch, I do think he’s had quite the life. I hope we get to see more of this story.

ParticipantMy reaction too….not going on the DVR list I’m afraid.
I keep meaning to watch Walking Dead and that’s all the zombies I can handle thank you very much.

ParticipantHm, that could be RG. Dorothy could have gone to Oz from EF.
What I’m wondering is if that conversation with Jeff and Rumple was staged or not. If Rumple knew there were slippers he wanted, why not go himself? Can he not go into Oz due to his magical nature? Perhaps he could not have used those slippers, and perhaps he knew it. The Witch couldn’t take them off Dorothy’s feet in the movie, and maybe it is something similar here where the Dark One’s magical nature prevented him from using the slippers himself.
If he wanted to motivate Apprentice #1 to cast the curse, tricking someone she cares about into using the slippers to go to Land Without Magic, that would be one way to approach it. Now she has the same incentive he does to want to there, but of course, WHEN would you arrive? He wanted to arrive when Bae would be there but how did he know? He had that crystal ball and we know it lets you see into NL.
So many things just don’t add up here that it’s confusing with what Rumple forsaw and didn’t. Still I think Rumple could be written as having played a role in separating Zelena from Cora, then from Dorothy before giving up on Zelena. The question is what might have happened with Zelena that she no longer worked as an apprentice for him? Did she not have anyone she loved to kill off for the curse? Did she have moral reservations with doing that kind of thing? Did a flying monkey come along and give him magical fleas that chased him out of Oz (and let’s us do a Bugs Life mash…..)
I don’t know. I doubt the last one but at this point I feel there is going to have to be some story of why Zelena didn’t work as Rumple’s caster, because I think he did know about her. He only came to Regina when she was a young woman and that’s a long time to wait for an opening.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantIf Dorothy knew a young Zelena, it could have been 40 or 50 years ago easily, in which time Dorothy might have aged. 28 for the curse + some random time between Rumple and Zelena interacting versus when he started training Regina, which went on for a half dozen years we think. Its hard to get it all the way back to the 1930’s though, but the 70’s would fit. So if say Dorothy were a young girl like Zelena, maybe both around 10 (Doroth’s a kid in the book right?) –maybe she’d be in her 60’s or 70’s now.

ParticipantObisgirl: I simply said the logic of what you’re saying didn’t make sense to me. In what way did what I write sound angry or upset?
We have enough drama with out things like this, but I am not upset with you, but I do think it is best for you to be careful how you read into things, rather than looking for drama.

ParticipantThat’s what I think, it’s just a good hiding spot, and unless she knew it was “Suspect property #1” –she wouldn’t avoid picking it as a place to hide someone.
On the other hand, maybe they’re just using the location and it will represent a completely different place and time than what we’re thinking right now. For all we know, its representing a place in Oz or something like that.
The Flying Monkey factory perhaps lol.

ParticipantWhy would Zelena know what went on with GOAT? They weren’t working for her, and no one she’s working with would know it–unless someone told her like Hook. I doubt you’re on the train of thought that he cooperated with Zelena, so this argument that she wouldn’t use it because GOAT did, makes no sense. She would have no reason to know that.

ParticipantNot if the reason they’re in the cannery is the same reason Goat picked it–isolated, big spaces, easy to hide.
Plus maybe GOAT did leave something behind–they had a whole truck of equipment and though they burned things, they didn’t really get around to burning everything.

ParticipantThis J.Mo article seemed to me to be better than previous ones. She mentions Neal and that she had a connection to him. Still she doesn’t talk about all the present day development. This type of omission is frustrating. Does she leave it out because in 312 there’s no development, as Neal doesn’t encounter Emma and Emma largely doesn’t have her memories? I hope that’s all it is, but getting a touch tired of hearing how Hook’s changed as if Emma’s totally oblivious to the fact that Neal as well isn’t the same old guy she thought. There’s more than a connection in the past, and a bond as a parent of Henry–there’s everything that happened between them as two people who still have love in their hearts for each other from the moment they met each other again. Of course this time around there’s a monkey in the works, because even if Emma turns Walsh down on his proposal, she still feels like she spent 8 months with him. They have to deal with that, and my guess is they’d deal with that the way they handled Tamara/Katherine, as Walsh starts to me to sound like a mix of the two.
It is possible THIS is the “hijacked” spell that is mentioned in one spoiler, and Emma doesn’t actually choose to date Walsh for 8 months, but just thinks she did due to tampering with the memory curse. Walsh, unlike Katherine though, has his memories, and knows what’s up, which makes him like Tamara, an agent of evil carrying out a mission. So then I think he’s going to actually fall for Emma, because, well, that’s what men do in this story. So let’s say he turns on Wicked and helps save them temporarily from her in some way, which is why she has to pull out the Dark One card. Maybe that funeral people saw is Walsh’s, but before he dies, he tells Emma where to find Neal because he’s been stuck in Oz or something like that. Maybe Neal had to be traded in someway to allow someone else to cross one world to another.
I don’t know for sure, but for now its easier to assume Hook’s on the up and up until the writing clearly shows he is not. In parts of the forum outside this one, that just causes less friction and feels more neutral attitude. I do feel it is fair to wonder, as it is fair to wonder about Neal, whether desperation might drive either of them to do something rash but we just have to wait and see. As I said, writers could do just about anything in the plot with the tricks they’ve contrived here, memory wipes, year that’s missing and all that.
