Monkey Neal it is….here’s some weird speculation. So I wanted to look up monkeys in fairy tales, just for kicks because I knew I’d heard of one. One is the humorous and not uncourageous pig transgressed from an inebrious celestial general for his assault against a fairy; the other a sea monster who also used to be a celestial general now in exile for a misdemeanor. I had to laugh…a drunk former officer who assaulted a fairy ….sound like anyone?

Well it’s not dignified but hey, at least its a mammal. Naveen was turned into an amphibian so …step up at least there. And honestly the alternatives, are kind of dark and worse so you know, why not. The ohter thing is maybe she swaps Neal for Rumple in the Underworld to bring Rumple . I know people said they were filming 3.15 but….we have no idea of anything.

In PaTF, the bad guy Dr. Facillier cannot maintain the illusion spell without fresh blood so he needs to keep Naveen alive. I could see something similar here with why she’d kidnap rather than kill Neal but it is a bit of plot-armor but certainly no worse than we’ve seen before in this show why some characters do not kill others. Anyway, I think Wicked would send Walsh to keep Emma busy, and to try to entrap her in a sleeping curse of some sort so she could never die to break the curse, nor use TLK to break it either. So her eventual goal with Emma is to lure her to town to trap her. Hook shows up though and disrupts the WWW’s plans by bringing Emma to town early. From there, I am not sure at all what happens. I think the Wicked has Rumple’s dagger up her sleeve, and it is a big shock when he appears. I’m completely confused though why Walsh would reappear unless he’s a monkey double-agent perhaps, because he’s working with the Wicked only to help free HIS true love Rapunzel or something like that. Maybe he’s not originally a monkey either but it is a curse he’s suffereing and they transfer it to Neal. I have no idea. Weird show is weird.

It’s uncanny though and maybe not everything they wrote would be right but that name and Walsh as a name aren’t things I’d have guessed. Maybe they just sawa the press releases early or something and made same guesses we did though.

What if its a bit from the Princess and the Frog, where Lawrence in order to look like Naveen had to have a bit of Vodoo magic involving Naveen’s blood. Meanwhile Naveen was frogged. So what if Walsh becomes human and Neal turns Monkey?

I’m wary of starting a Neal thread, because at this point, there’s just too much potential for headaches and controversy. I”m not really in favor of this culture of ships but I don’t have to moderate either. I’m not in favor of things that make the moderators lives harder.
I would suggest Jenna that you start with what the writers have said about who this character is:
Watch the “Who is Baelfire” special by A&E. Read the interviews with the actor who plays him.
Adam says MRJ understands his character better than anyone–and there are several interviews where he talks about his character.
Read the Facebook untold story about Bae.
Maybe someone can find links, and we can add them to the first page of the thread for reference for others who have questions as to who Neal is and what he’s about.
There’s a lot of fan spin out there, and those of us who love Bae might come off like we’re exaggerating his good qualities, but then, to my point of view people are constantly exaggerating his negative qualities too in the same ways, and for mostly the same reasons as that happens to Henry or Snow when they make Regina sad.

I think 318 is definitely Rumple too for the same reasons–he’s the only main character in that land alive at the time that we would know about.
319 I don’t think will have Snow giving birth because they’d have done Cora giving birth in the previous episode. I suppose they can do two in a row (bulk discount if they throw in Aurora!) but really I have no idea what it will be expect something that moves the mythology along in some way as A&E tend to do those episodes.
So maybe we would see something about Aurora and Maleficient, Glinda.

Maybe he’s a monkey but he’s a good monkey working for Glinda, and he is trying to protect Emma.
He’s a double agent against Wicked! And his tie to Rapunzel is the monkey transformation is related to her magic hair or something like that . Who even knows at this point lol.

He sounds more and more like Tamara. I kept thinking no, she’s ordinary, they told us she’s ordinary, but this time I’m jumping to evil flying monkey before the episode airs. Because this show is that crazy.
