Or the WW was working “diagonally” against Pan just like Rumple did against Regina.    Or Glinda was!  A “chess match” thing would be part of building a new story I think.

    I know but …>SPOILERS!!!!

I still feel conflicted about everything we hear.  Is it bad, is it good?  It’s so hard to say at this point with all the spin.   Is it a “wrap-up ” arc or is it, they’re finally free to reveal some good things about Neal after trying to keep it on the down-low? I just don’t even know but I’ve been hoping that Neal had a trip through Oz to get to our world, and that since the Darling-pan -connections were so limited, that there was more ominous meddlign in his life from someone in Oz.  Guess we have to wait and see.  Someone sent August with information about Bae,  convinced August that Bae had to be run off from Emma, and I want to see who and what was their motive for doing that.

Guess we have to wait and see!  Sometimes we’ve been right (see Joanna and Charles Measure) and sometimes wildly wrong (that other girl who’s name I forget that came up Lanie? Something anyway was around the time with Freya Tingley, who was on once but not Ariel as we were speculating. We thought that other girl was Wendy ).

It’s exciting to maybe get some news though as its been VERY quiet with news.

So when I googled “curious thing” just as someone else did, I came up with that Scottish pop song, and apparently Bobby is friends with the producer Paul Weller (He’s a known musician )  and the title of the record by Amy Macdonald’s lead single is “Don’t tell me that it’s over”.   Who knows but maybe it could be a Rumple/Neal episode like Nasty Habits really was as their stories are often linked the way Snow and Regina stories are.  I do think Glinda and the slippers will feature in it some way, but I’m hoping that it’s not just flashbacks for Neal here, that it will be the episode where we see him present day perhaps after being misled that he’s gone.

Sometimes with them there’s multiple meanings to things.  I do think the most obvious reference here is the slippers–and I like that find Grimmstar about the Ugu character.   Perhaps just as we met Jefferson, who once made a magic hat to travel realms (or did he?) –we might meet the person who made the shoes, and that could be Glinda, or someone else.

I was speculating wildly in chat, what if Glinda is Grace’s mother (Jefferson’s partner who was ‘lost” somehow?).  It could be done without Jefferson necessarily needing to appear, if it were *her* side of things–and it seemed like Jefferson and some kind of falling out with Rumple, which he would if he refused to go searching in different worlds anymore because of Grace.

I don’t know how to edit since I was cutting and pasting quotes, from 4 different sources there, but basically they were from Lemony Snicket (about death), Harry Potter (about power), Verdon (the past)  and Orwell (the past).   Then something about a Scottish pop album.  Those were just random references on Google to the phrase “curious thing”.

So all those seem to be themes we could expect in this season I’d think, power, death, the past–the common element though is what’s curious is unexpected in some way.

I googled for references, just to see what came up.

“A curious thing” is the name of a Scottish pop album

It’s the start of a quote form a Lemony Snickett novel about death being a curious thing–

Lemony Snicket > Quotes > Quotable Quote

    Lemony Snicket

“It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.”

It is also used in Harry Potter, in a quote about power

“It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who, like you, have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.”

― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

John Verdon > Quotes > Quotable Quote

    John Verdon

“It was a curious thing about the past–how it lay in wait for you, quietly, invisibly, almost as though it weren’t there. You might be tempted to think it was gone, no longer existed. Then, like a pheasant flushed from cover, it would roar up in an explosion of sound, color, motion–shockingly alive.”  John Verdon

The past is a curious thing. It’s with you all the time. I suppose an hour never passes without your thinking of things that happened ten or twenty years ago, and yet most of the time it’s got no reality, it’s just a set of facts that you’ve learned, like a lot of stuff in a history book. Then some chance sight or sound or smell, especially smell, sets you going, and the past doesn’t merely come back to you, you’re actually IN the past. It was like that at this moment.”

― George Orwell, Coming Up for Air

Who even knows what their influence was–but something curious obviously could be linked to something surprising or unexpected in terms of a larger theme, as that’s what is the common element in these quotes.

There was a line of dialog about it.  Check the transcript site if you want HE, it goes up to Miller’s Daughter.

    Queen is Dead:

(Neal and Henry exit the pizza shop and join them.)

Neal: What are we talking about?

Henry: Emma, Neal wanted to show me the museum. Do you think we can go back to the apartment and get my camera?

Neal: Yeah, well, I… Kids like culture, right?

Emma: Sure. Yeah, that’s fine. You like the New York pizza?

Henry: Yeah. It’s delicious, cheesy, and doesn’t lie.

    _____

So I don’t know of screenshots or anything of it (or why that would be important!), but there’s the dialog about Henry having a camera.

Hope we do! Loved Robbie. I would have loved to have seen flashbacks of him with hook/bae/tinkerbell. I feel like we missed out. I still want to know why he had the picture of Henry and why he was connected to Rumple. I hope that even if we don’t see him that that is still explained.

The picture was not explained, but Pan’s connection to Rumple was kind of the big reveal of the season! Unless you mean, why did one have to die for the other to die, which I agree wasn’t explained well at all.   Rumple said it, but it was just stated like a fact.   I also was curious about the Shadow, what was it and all that.

They know the fans loved Robbie, but I think they’re basically saying if they want to bring him back and it works out, they would, just like with Hatter.   Robbie may not be as busy as a younger actor, but then again, all it takes is one role to book someone up sometimes.
