ParticipantYes, I’m on the fence too. It could be a set up to just hand-waive away previous development and create a whole new dynamic between everyone. The part that’s most thought provoking here is that “not everyone can be trusted”. What to make of that? Once again, no mention of Neal. We never get the assurance that Neal and Emma will have scenes together and time to truly deal with the things that have happened to them–some fairy tale obstacle is always in the way. I’m trying to take Slurpeez’s words and kindle that flame of hope that the writers will not just do a rug sweep here and that there will be some payoff to the storyline and all the set-up with things like putting Emma in NYC, having her keep the bug, and other elements. Sigh…March is a long way, and I’m seriously tempted to just delay watching the whole thing too, as it may be more enjoyable to just be in my own thoughts and let it unfold as it will. Spoilers are always a double-edged sword. You get a hint, perhaps ruin something by pre-judging what is going to happen before it does but sometimes it encourages you to keep watching.

ParticipantHow about we let people worry about themselves whether they want false hope or false fear, or reasonable certainty and to adjust expectations? I can tell you my attitude is, that I’d rather expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised but for others, they’d rather get upset about something when it happens and not waste energy on it until they’ve no choice. At the same time, I am a bit reluctant to just take at face value “reports” given the particular atmosphere in which we’ve had it happen before that Neal was in a scene but no one knew until we saw it on screen.
Speculation tends to be tinged by what people want to happen. It is true, we are going to go round, but it isn’t fair to those who feel it helps to discuss to shut down ALL discussion everywhere. We can all agree to keep it out of chat. Some will say–then just do it in ship threads but I think some people don’t want that discussed there either. What if I want to bring up an idea about why it might be Regina or Belle for example, in the middle of a SF thread, that is really not a good place to get into it as it might be distressing for those who didn’t want to talk about the death at all, just wanted to talk about the ship itself. In general its probably true that most people on the CS thread “don’t mind” if it is Neal and the SF thread “don’t mind” if it is Hook, but even then there are people on both who find it distressing either way. We’re all different in how we feel and how much emotion we bring to our experiences as fans.
If people want to discuss the death, then they need to be prepared that there will be speculation for characters they adore, and they can leave the thread and ignore it exists if they wish to do so. Yet that is an imposition on RG and MP who must moderate, so if it is the will of the forums then so be it, but I’d rather have people discussing it here than in chat, especially the spoiler who is filming thread.

ParticipantThey definitely think a lot about the costumes and poses and things like that. The second outfit he has on is definitely the one he is wearing in Going Home. The first though is one I can’t place.
Emma obviously wore that tank/jeans and sword throughout her time in NL. I’m not sure about Henry or anyone else’s outfits.
I have to agree, these are gorgeous pictures and so easy to photo shop into beautiful backgrounds that it is mind boggling that the promo department messed up so badly.
I wonder if we’ll get new promo shots this time around?

ParticipantHe does, but definitely looks a lot older than Eva Braun who plays young Eva. I wonder where they are going with this storyline.

ParticipantEmma’s plaid isn’t strongly purple though. I don’t think it is a very royal look at all, quite opposite. It’s also not the shirt she had on in the apartment in NY because those were pajamas (I think they were pink/green?). I think plaid might be the influence of someone in her new New York life and memories. Either that or Regina slipping in curses when you’re not looking–cursed fashion sense!

ParticipantThe promo department had those pictures and ruined them with cloudy photoshop. Sigh. Monkeys.

ParticipantHere’s my crack theory today — Tink and Ariel get into a LT over Hook. Tink was jealous so that is why she made those comments about Hook’s feelings about Emma, wishing he’d feel that way about her (she was awfully quick to think he was making moves, but he was awfully quick to make some too). Her first offense as a fairy was falling in love, which led to BF’s attitude with Nova and Tink’s first warning. So Tink’s always been a romantic. The WWW though, not so much. The WWW kills Eric, and a heartbroken Ariel ends up commiserating with a heartbroken Hook, but Tink tries to use a love swap spell and it goes horribly wrong. Horribly wrong. And we get:
TinkerAriel who’s spirits are merged into one body, therefore triangle resolved! Kind of.
You see the merge spell doesn’t stop there, no, we get Robin Hook, in a tragic accident Robin Hood and Hook are merged too and now there’s a love polygon of epic proportions.

ParticipantIt is a fine line between hope and fear sometimes. I just don’t know with these writers, and in a way, I really get into Emma’s mindset in the cave here. I’m not sure I can take my heart being crushed again no matter how much I love the show, and in a way, its easier to believe the worst than to hope and be disappointed as I was with the show Heroes. Yet happy endings DO start with hope, and I’m trying to have a little of it. A corner of my mind is starting to ask some questions about the the things people are saying we “know” and thinking, well we don’t know. Sometimes funerals have open caskets, so the actor could be on set at a signing thing, because they’re needed to be lying down as “the body”. In which case, it’s not Neal. Also very possible that a minor character is dead (and close casket thing) perhaps even Gorham’s character, maybe he was a real world guy who didn’t believe Emma, came to town and got mixed up in a confrontation with the Witch and dies. That’d be harsh for Emma of course but as fans we aren’t attached to that character yet. We have no idea of context and MRJ definitely could be filming in studio due to the plot that has him perhaps stranded yet again somewhere. That seems to be his fate, hopping around worlds. So we just have to wait and see. A lot of people are great at putting out volumes of headcannons about how Neal is unimportant, and obviously it must be him that’s dead but some of these are the same people who will say things in chat like “Neal didn’t know about the curse when he left Emma.” Or will insist Emma ignored him at the townline. When people are editing the show in their own memories to quite that extent, it does make me question the speculation and spoilers that get filtered by them too. I know many of them aren’t doing it on purpose out of dislike for the character but simply they WANT and NEED to believe that things are this way because of how much they like Hook. They often admit they watch only for Hook, and that’s not how I think the show is written. I do not think (ABC media aside ) that the writers think of Hook as the main character around which the show revolves. So we should wait and see how things go and I know it may sound like I’m totally convinced at times by the doom and gloom, but really, a small flicker of hope is still hope. It’s there, and it might get brighter with some more information about the next episode A&E are writing. So fingers crossed we get some more hopeful signs.

ParticipantShe certainly doesn’t look like she’s towing the “nun” line set by BF in that outfit, though I don’t think she’s going the Ruby “brain searing” direction either. Then again, consider Blue’s jellyfish dress. Kind of hypocritical for BF to tell Tink she’s dressed inappropriately after that look!
I’m not sure the writers will show jealous Tink at all. While I’m curious what her “first offense” was to get her to lose her wings, it seems to me they’ve written this Tink as very sweet and good, but just not as straight laced as BF.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would.
