ParticipantOnce again an article suggests that it isn’t smooth sailing at all for Hook and Emma. She’s not all that receptive to Hook and I love how they say if a stranger with guyliner and leather showed up, how would you react? And we KNOW how certain fans would react “KISS HIM!” but guess what Eddy and Adam thought the normal response is? Baseball bat! So …maybe they aren’t as swept away with the charm of Hook as it seems if they would say that. It does hint Emma will get her memories, and we know they’d called her experiences post Manhattan on a “benefit” versus her current cursed state opinion of Neal….that looks hopeful to me.

ParticipantI think maybe we’ll see why Cora was so furious about Eva marrying Leo–maybe it was a love match for them, meanwhile she’s obviously not in love with Henry Sr.
Eva gets everything–the power AND Love. Cora’s heart goes into murderous fits of envy. Now that envy and her magic will turn her first baby…green and Rumple , who lets her know the problem also has a solution. Give the baby to him as she was SUPPOSED to do per earlier deal. Cora doesn’t want to give in though and finds another way.
She curses the baby that Eva is carrying so that IT will bear the curse–and Eva and Leo sadly send their baby away. That would make WIcked SNOW’s sister that she never knew about.
How’s that crack?

ParticipantHm well the article @TVLINE practically pointed a finger at Neal. So saying not who we think should be good for SF but who even knows, can we get that Vinzini thing in a gifset? And again, I want to make a gifset of August saying nonchalantly “its good” and Neal saying “How is it good” and put OUAT Writers about Death spoiler on August’s head, and then on Neal’s head put “OUAT FANS”. How is this going to get us excited? Unless the writers played a fast one, like telling the reports someone significant enough to be in the main cast is going to die–and HA HA it’s Red, because see, she isn’t main cast NOW, but she was….and the reporters just assumed the meant NOW. That’d be so like A&E. Such trolls.

ParticipantI love that Blue Jeans one, so cute. And yay on the trending. It’s nice to know that MRJ saw there’s lots of fans that are interested in his tweets.

ParticipantSpoilering in case I ramble into something–this is a ramble sorry 🙂
Ah fandom, where there’s chicken littles and pollyannas dancing about, and I don’t know what to believe!
I want to keep my expectations in line. It is important to note that the rumor mill has always had a kind of odd spin to it, hasn’t it? Remember that time when a promo showed a gun held on Neal and people were convinced it was Emma? There was an elaborate theory that she would never trust Neal ever again, besides he hates magic and is probably going to side with Tamara. Screencaps to back the hand analysis up too. Then what did we see? Oh that’s right. Emma rushed to defend Neal, he’d gotten her back and they said I love you. But then he fell through the portal!
Next people denied Neal would be back because not a series regular (he’d been promoted by then). They said Emma didn’t grieve much and if she did it was only for Henry’s sake. What happened next? Oh that’s right, she’s equating Neal and Graham dying as awful things for which she nonsensically blames Snow and Charming, instead of you know, Regina who actually killed Graham or Tamara or even Hook who worked with them and could have lifted a finger to help instead of worry about his revenge. Plus she admits outright she knew the instant she saw him and never stopped loving him. Something she repeats later on in the cave to him, but then, she tacks on she was hoping it was a trick in a very confusing ending to what could have been a happier reunion. Under the circumstances though, I feel like it made sense for Emma to be too afraid he’d die again on NL to be really happy to see him in a cage given all the stuff she’d just heard and Pan’s threats.
Emma does deny things, which makes her tough to read. Yet the writers have underscored that her denial with Neal comes from fears about fate now, her role as savior first but haven’t really tackled what she thinks in terms of his romantic bid. Does she believe him about why he left, and of course, can she forgive his relationship with Tamara knowing what she knew about Tamara? We didn’t see that on screen really. We saw Emma at her emotional and logical limits over Henry, her father and all of it and unable to deal right then, right there. Then when maybe she can? She’s still fighting her spidey sense that all is not well and then the next fairy-tale separation happens.
So I don’t think they resolved everything here but I’ve thought that before too about other things. I don’t know with these writers anymore. They’re a little too much on the “anything is possible” tack for me to think what’s come before has to make sense with what will be next because you know, when something that’s a crack spec becomes true like PapaPan (despite an already filmed and shot but cutting room floor scene to the contrary?) who knows.
I’ve just got enough chicken little in me to worry about things like that but enough PollyAnna to say but…its a story about fairytales. Hope! Neal’s their own creation! Adam just namechecked Neal the other day in a tweet to one of his idols, Stephen King! Talking about characters on TV talking about TV. He could have used Hook/Emma scene shown at the PCA about the permed hair but didn’t. What came to his mind? The less recent Neal/Mulan one. Does it mean something? I think it means Adam unlike some fans remembers Neal exists.
[spoiler] Heather’s spec is fun and I think Neal is definitely going to be in some kind of peril. Its his role right, the dude in distress? We’re going to be sweating bullets about his fate no matter what I think, because Emma is the heroine. She’s going to have to save him, but he’ll be a partner in some way because that’s the modern thing. No one’s passive all the way, tied to the railroad tracks. Except Belle….I kid, I kid. She’s had her moments too. I think Neal could be in the hospital injured, or in another land, or memory-less perhaps. I have no idea. Maybe he’s body swapped with Henry! Who even knows but makes more sense than a 13 year old getting driving lessons as a means of consoling him. Yes let’s take this huge metal car and hope we don’t crash and seriously injure ourselves. Should take your mind off it! We know blood magic is a thing, that Neal may have been through more worlds, and he means a lot to Emma and Henry. There are lots of things to do with Neal if the writers want besides the trash basket. Eddy said the experiences post Manhattan were a “benefit” versus her meeting him without those experiences, but we already guessed she’d get her memory back by then.
ANyway my overall reaction to the spoiler that shall not be named is that of Neal hearing Emma is in jail “How is this good!?” I need someone to make a gifset of August saying its good and put “writers” on it and Neal saying that in response. That’s how I feel. I don’t care what character is the target, it is not giving me excited to be watching feels….but I do still hope for good things and a real second chance for Neal and Emma.

ParticipantMy condolences for your (and friend’s) loss. I wish I had cheerier thoughts for you but I suppose you can look forward to a tweet chat with MRJ tomorrow right?

ParticipantSo does anyone remember when Emma starts wearing that Swan Pendant? I wanted to see the scene again where she puts it on, with all the context and such.

ParticipantJefferson lost Grace’s mother. That’s all we know, not that they were married, not that she died–he lost her mother. So who knows?
As I understood it, everyone goes back where they came from originally except Henry who was not just born, but conceived in the Land Without Magic. So Ashley’s baby goes back. We can also conclude no one got busy and pregnant and delivered in a year that time moved forward in SB–or SB counted as some king of magical annex for EF. Anyway, Emma is the other exception as the Savior in the curse, it doesn’t affect her. That’s what they said, logical or not.
Lonebamf: Yup silly as it is we all keep trying to put logic on something inherently illogical. Yet even for magic we feel there must be rules of some sort or it just takes too much suspension of disbelief. I agree, Neal should have been left behind too but it didn’t work for the plot they wanted to do whatever it is. Bet we’ll never hear about the Darlings again too. “Oh off you go chaps, to a modern London nothing like the one you remember, don’t spare a thought about where the boy you spent 300 years trying to save is going, so anyway good luck with that!”.

ParticipantEmma’s burgundy jacket is extremely similar to Neal’s flashback leather jacket. You know what it is also a bit like?
Bae’s Darling Robe .
There are some other instances too of the wardrobe people putting Emma and Neal in clothing that kind of matches. There’s one where she has a purple scarf just like he does.
Neal’s first entrance as an adult also has him in semi-formal clothes (a 3 pc suit) and Emma is the same (a cocktail dress).
Maybe it is the outfit Emma wore on the beanstalk, but I think as with Bae’s Sword it is one of those things where just about anything with Hook sort of connects back to Neal on some level. As Slurpeez said, they’re “foils” in a lot of ways.
Of course, there are many things Emma shares with Neal that don’t really connect back to Hook in any significant way.

ParticipantCould be a flashback with Greg to set up WWW being captured and now is free, explaining the “you think this is the first time” comment to Regina.
When Home Office fell apart after Pan’s death, who knows if it was a real organization or if was just DB and GOAT. They took down Dragon, so maybe Pan hunted other magical creatures because he just wanted to knock off any potential competitors who might get in the way of his goals, or because he was trying to string GOAT along until they did what he needed.
I’m not sure they’d bring him back though, b/c why bother? So I think it is more likely that the TV guide people brought him up for something the actor is doing unrelated to OUAT.
I don’t know–maybe they’re trying to un Nikki-Paolo Greg at least and fix the shoddy fixing?
