ParticipantMy headcannon forever is that since she lived in Boston, that the mechanics shop would be the Clappert Brothers (“Click and Clack, of Car talk.”) They’re like classic characters in their own right 😛

ParticipantI am wondering this too. It would make sense for her to be the next Dark One. That would be a game changer for sure, but what’s he doing there by her side?
What if that isn’t well, him? I’m wondering whether RC might play an entirely different character from the land of Oz. Some said his suit is exactly the same one he had on. It looks more leathery and the pants are longer.
They do so many off-the-wall and weird things in this show. A Doppelganger wouldn’t be the least of it.

ParticipantI think misdirection could be what they are after as well. I had that feeling about the Charlie’s girl song and then it stopped. It was like they were saying we know you hope it is going to be Neal, but, no, story is not over so it is Hook and family is in danger. I think they always envisioned Emma kicking Hook in the nuts as the end, after he tries to kiss her. They know they got away from tough Emma who responds plainly, so they’re showing us she’s back. After a year in NY as a single mother, with memories of having been one for a decade? I think she’s going to be in quite a different frame of mind than when everyone left her. I do think once she has memories restored and we know that happens from spoilers she is going to get back to being on task about helping the people who really matter to her. Her family, and that includes Neal in her opinion.

ParticipantYes, I want more Neal! They decorated an apartment for him, sketched out a life for him. What does it mean? We saw glimpses of his life in London. We saw the setting for his life in NL.
Many times it is true these moments served other main characters reactions but a few scenes were SOLELY about Neal.
His reaction in Broken, his reactions with August and Mulan, Robin Hood, Wendy & Darlings, Felix. He had scenes with no other main cast present, just to tell his side of things. They showed us he can use magic if necessary, that he isn’t a knee-jerk no magic person. They showed us he loves Emma and Henry. He’s smart and capable, as we saw resourceful teaching Emma certain tricks of the thief trade, thinking up that squid trick, “Why I didn’t coat the tip”. Yes, Neal gets cocky and makes mistakes sometimes but he has humility enough to also take a back seat when he trust someone else to take point. Like he does with Emma, and finally his father.
I do want to know more of the backstory. I know the writers were excited to do NL. I hope they got out of it what they wanted, because it was a detour I felt. A non-essential part of the overall plot they had in their head because they didn’t know originally they would get the rights to it. I think they knew Bae went somewhere and Henry’s father left because of the curse. The details of it though are things they sketched out as they drew up Season 2, anchoring his backstory in NL, and with Hook. How they must have snickered when people asked about the connection between Emma and Hook. Yes there’s a connection alright. His name is Neal. They KNEW that when they made that episode and its been informing every single thing about the Hook/Emma/Neal relationship. J.mo even said her attraction to Hook was “complicated because he reminds her of Neal”. There’s complications with Neal too, but those are about HIM, not Hook. She could have said it the other way, that she fell for Neal because he had certain qualities she sees in Hook. She didn’t, or make it more neutral, that “its complicated because they’re two sides of a coin”. They are foils as Slurpeez was saying, but I think the actress clearly recognizes there is a stronger bond with Neal. Whatever kinship, kindred spirits, fellow-feeling or camraderie, or attraction sparks with Hook, at the end of the day? Neal is the man she will probably always love. Curses, memory wipes and things like that aside of course!

ParticipantDId he tweet that? Besides NL had no time, that’s part of its magical nature as a dreamland. Pan says you cannot see the future there, remember? So NL wouldn’t be a good example.
I believe Watcher said something like OZ doesnt’ have time either or at least people don’t age normally. I can’t remember but I would believe that as well. So who knows, when it comes to fantasy lands it is not unusual to have things like this (Narnia for example has the kids growing into adults then returning to the real world as kids, going back to find centuries passed and they were distant legends.)
I like the idea Cora had a baby she gave up BEFORE the events of Miller’s daughter, but I don’t know. I could also see her having twins, and because the children are born green as a side effect of practicing magic while pregnant, ends up making a deal with Rumple who conveniently shows up with a solution. He was in the crowd at the presentation of the baby and we did get the idea they’d clashed more than that one time. So he forces her hand by making her give ONE baby to him, and he takes it away, in exchange that the other one will be perfectly normal in appearance.
Rumple tries to mold Wicked but she proves unsuitable because to cast the curse you have to be able to love someone, and she isn’t, but Regina is. So he abandons her in Oz. Then he decides to go back after Regina. It’s a little retroactively changing what we saw but not too badly. It would explain why no mention of this sister ever because no one ever knew but Rumple, and he doesn’t volunteer information that’s not relevant. Neither does Regina “Who’s Jefferson” Mills. It might also explain why Wicked might want the curse –she might have been manipulated by Rumple into a similar fury of revenge against someone who went to the land without magic (Dorothy!). Regina is 18 by the time Rumple starts her training–surely he could have started earlier with Wicked or even simultaneously just hedging his bets.

ParticipantRG, you better not get all Cora with those lessons or Belle will come after you. 🙂
Well if there IS a Maple leaf (symbol of Canada!) ….just saying we know who went there 😛 I like this headcannon –Gorham is the reverse August?

ParticipantI agree with Happy Endings–my favorite spec is she is related to Mal.

ParticipantIf they did that, it would be quite soap-operatic wouldn’t it? I think Gorham could be the Wizard and Wicked’s father or some weird thing like that but not really loving the speculation of it as much as who Pan was.

ParticipantAnd I’m curious if he was in the scene, and if he was, what’s that red splotchy thing on his jacket? If its a maple leaf, and he was in Canada, and met Neal…..perhaps he’s important to Emma because he’s someone who had a role in Neal ‘s life in some way?

ParticipantIt’s not my favorite idea versus she’s Malificient’s sister. I agree, they’ve dipped the secret family too often. At least let it be another villain’s secret family–and one that would play very well into the myth of Oz where one witch is angry that her sister died. Certainly, what Regina did to her “old friend” Malecificent is deserving of some pay-back (if you’re thinking like a wicked witch that is!).
I do think it would be backtracking if Rumple is the papa. What I think could work though is that Rumple did something to Cora and either there’s another child or he did it to the baby she held up tot he crowd as Regina, and in a convoluted bit of magic and such, she ended up with the girl who grew up to be the Regina we know. So that might be a baby switch thing –if Cora switched her own baby because of a magical side-effect.
I could also see that her own child was born with green skin and Cora transferred the curse of it to Wicked. Who knows!
