Spoekekickenkicker– Frankenstein was a man of serious purpose and ambition.  Whale seemed a man of ego and libido but we really only saw a few scenes to set up his personality.   Frankenstein-Whale post curse seemed like a drunken mess of wasted plot potential tossed aside for a few jokes more than an attempt to fashion a whole character. The whole science versus magic thing ending in a crushed neck of missed opportunities.  Was Whale-F capable of growing and changing? We’ll never know entirely but we saw a moment of friendship of sorts start to form between him and Red, “monster to monster”.   You’re right, sending her off with him is too soon in a happily ever after romance way but they could write them out as dealing with werewolves in his own world or something–maybe just say Sydney and Jefferson go too!  They filmed a scene with King George and cut it, so I wonder what other things make sense to the writers but not to us because of things like this–we were all wondering what they did with George ( I wonder where he is in the EF since not chained in the mines now!).

I just want the obvious gaps about characters who logically we ought to hear a peep from or about to be mentioned, at least given some explanation and dismissed.  I’d want much more screen time for them but as it is I feel we don’t see enough of all the central characters actively in the main plot.

I agree RG–she’s even said in interviews that she’d hoped they would CGI a little wolf in.  I know they had so much going on, but just ONE small line somewhere like “Red’s rounding up everyone else…”

Peter and the Wolf–Red’s  victim/boyfriend was named Peter so they did that one already 😛

Personally right now, I’m hoping they just do a fun thing to sort of “conclude” her story and set up why we hardly see her in the future…like Bride of Frankenstein, and they go back to the world without color to deal with his brother 😛

It is a missing link–my  thought was she found out what Jefferson and Whale did to fool her to give false hope and yank it away.  She brought Whale to SB after all and she had an issue with Jefferson because it seemed she was not all that sorry to leave him in WL–plus she just let Grace stay with those neighbors, in SB rather than reunite them, she made him know the two lives, but trapped him in the house.  An extra special torture for him.

lol Slurpeez, I love that headcannon story.

Really, when you think about OZ, the theme of “home” resonates a lot.  It was what Dorothy spent the entire movie trying to do, and then found out she could do so easily by just wishing for it.  Some say what a manipulator that Glinda was, making her do all those things when she could have just gone home easily–but as Glinda said, Dorothy wouldn’t have believed her!  I feel that resonates with Neal and Emma.  Had he told her all the things she’d have to do, had August–she wouldn’t have believed them.  She found it impossible, and probably will with Hook trying to convince her too, but he will have help of sorts in the form of “impossible’ things to show her.  Plus I think she won’t be quite as edgy and jaded having raised Henry (the ultimate believer even if he doesn’t remember he is) for the last year.  Neal didn’t have that on his side.

I really hope we get to see some scenes to explain many things about Neal.  He is not “Mystery Man” anymore and I feel the writers need to start unloading the mythology secrets and build characters not random plot twists.

What if “SB” isn’t SB but a city in Oz?  Like part of the Emerald City….or Munchkin land….(dwarf eggs hatched somewhere eventually)

    RG *hugs*
I stopped visiting the CS thread here awhile back because I realized whatever fun I had in multi-shipping what I call now “Hookiecup” or JonesSwan…is just overshadowed by how much I disagree with certain negative posts about SF and Neal and those who ship it.  I’m a lot happier for it  but the thing is–I still visit Tumblr.  I’ll stop by Schmacky’s site and see her respond to things from anti-cs or in the general tags or even from..curious…anons in her ask box.   Then there are things I see  that I react to like on confession sites, or there’s things said in Chat.

I guess I could just bubble up in the safe happy SF zone, wait for the pretty but I never really wanted to be a plug-my-eyes-ears sort of shipper.  I’m interested in different opinions, willing to try to see Hook and Neal in their best lights, indeed all the characters, but at the same time, I’m not one to do something very popular in this fandom: Blame character B because they object to being hurt/nearly killed/damaged/manipulated/stolen from or whatever else by Character A or think hope for a ship I like = destroying hope for a ship I don’t like as much.  I don’t care what character it is–Neal versus Emma or Rumple versus Pan or Cora versus Xavier–I’m going to basically have the same train of thought: Those with power shouldn’t abuse it, and those without it have some right to defend themselves, but not to the extent they get on the vindictive revenge train.  As for ships–I mean today I was all headcannoning WickedHatter in between flipping to Rapunzel’s dad as the Frog for Wicked Princess…..why can’t it be that fun for Emma’s love life?

Anyway…I feel like some things aren’t about shipping at all but very different, bedrock views of character personality morality, concepts of logic (a lot of time I feel like I”m trying to explain the logical fallacy in something like A dog is a pet that has four legs…the spoiler said they had a pet with four legs, therefore they have a dog!…NO you don’t KNOW its a dog….you don’t know its not either!  You just know they have A pet with four legs.  ).

I’m not 100% done but I don’t have to moderate.  I think if I did, I would be.  I just ignore chat now or try to more and more (and before it was sidebar I never particpated in it anyway).  It can be fun sometimes, but all too often, no matter how much you throw glitter and talk about Dwarf Eggs ( mammals don’t lay eggs…..just saying, what ARE dwarves?)–it doesn’t work.  People get too passionate about certain things and…well…it ought to be fun, so just going to avoid getting into it there.

I can’t promise not to wax on about something that happens to be a topic of discussion on the CS forums, but it isn’t going to be because I was looking there–I want to focus here on pro-SF things more, not anti anything else….even if it means not having a really good place to think about Hookiecup/JonesSwan or Hook’s character….or Dwarf Eggs.

Was Rose on set? Couldn’t it be both? They said they’re doing a new format for storytelling, so what if they aren’t doing “Centrics” as much as filling in story for multiple characters at a time.

    Good point Obisgirl!

I’m wondering about Cinder’s speculation here–I guess it is possible that Rumple baby swapped Regina and Wicked.  I’m not 100% on board with the idea because they cast Henry and Xavier in a way to align with Lana’s heritage, but who knows.  Mader’s very pale (when not green!) with red hair and I suppose Cora had dark red /brown hair and was pale.  I’d buy Cora had a 2nd kid, but doubt it was with Rumple, don’t see him going near her again romantically. I could see him getting a deal out of Cora for a 2nd kid though,  after whatever events led to Xavier’s kingdom no longer existing/Cora & Henry Sr. no longer being royalty just nobility, which then resulted in some kind of “truce” of sorts that lasted a long time until Regina’s marriage when Rumple saw an opportunity to manipulate and exploit an emotionally vulnerable Regina.
