ParticipantPollyana would be funny –on OUAT she’d be a pessimist I bet. The term is a synonym for relentless optimism, sort of like Snow!

ParticipantIt was also an opportunity for Hook to see his actions through some else’s eyes. Hook may truly believe that he is behaving with honor and not realize that others don’t see him that way. This could assist in growing his character.
I don’t know that Neal had any idea of the context of the kiss, or was thinking about showing up Hook.
Neal did it in the same manner he challenged Rumple about Whale. There is a right thing to do and he wants to make sure his father does it, if his father wants him to believe he has really changed.
It was important to establish Neal’s issues with Rumple were not just about being abandoned but also the horror of seeing good people hurt for minor offenses/threat, and leading into can he trust him not to kill hos own grandson. Irony then that great-grandad actually goes through with it.
I do think though you bring up a great point, that Hook might learn but the camera did not really frame his reaction to suggest such a thought registered. They seem to love to cutaway to Hook easily so that he was on the edge of the frame was interesting. The camera caught Emma looking at Hook then back at Neal, but Hook sort of is just staring at Neal. He does not notice Emma’s reaction so much.
I’m not sure that Hook believed Emma’s secret was the Kiss. If he did believe that, what did he consider the basis for Neal hugging Emma?
Excellent point! I think you are right he was trying to figure out what Emma said. He knows it was something about the way she feels that she cannot change, so perhaps Hook hoped the secret was about him, but he did not know for sure. I doubt he thought it was nothing to do with him because I see him as you said as wanting to be honorable but not really knowing how to be as he has grown so used to shifting convenient interpretations of his code of honor.

ParticipantApparently this actor is someone the producers worked with before, so it seems to me like they contacted him to play this part, as they have done with many other actors in the series, too many to list.

ParticipantWhy would they cast someone who is the lead in another show?

ParticipantWell Robbie will probably get another gig because he overflows with talent. If they remake Star Wars, he would be awesome as a Luke or descendant. I think they already are shooting something though or a year or two after Disney got rights.

ParticipantIt is Charming’s dad 🙂 I like Brother Swan but also first love grown up would be good. Emma could have had a boyfriend at 15/16 that she left for Neal that she runs into in NY.

ParticipantWhat if the Swans never gave her up–what if she was kidnapped and it was the Home Office doing it–and his whole life, brother swan has been searching for her?

ParticipantLass makes me think of Merida, so could be new spin on a not so old tale.

ParticipantLol true those pants are awful. Apparently someone said its in fashion though now so I guess it’s just that I’m too dowdy to appreciate their awesomeness. This frequently happens when I watch Project Runway (though have missed latest season).
In time we’ll get more context I suppose!
