Captain Eala
Participant@obisgirl – Personally, i doubt that they’re holding hands. Even if the “triangle” has been dispatched with fully by then, I think it would take Emma a while to get the the whole “hand-holding” stage. Especially when it looks like *stuff* is going down hahaha!
@MysteryKat25 – I kind of agree on the whole Milah thing, but i’ve seen it in so many fics that I’ve grown used to the idea of it đ He has the tattoo on his wrist after all. But I love the idea of Liam soooo much. Loved your thoughts, sad to hear that things haven’t been going so well for you at the moment. Hopefully you’ll be around at normal time this Sunday đOn the red jacket thing, JMo has stated that it’s her armour, so I’m thinking that yes, she is probably going back to season 1 Emma a bit. BUT at the same time she has had all that character development so she won’t fully. It probably helps her to feel in control of things.
Some more thoughts I’ve had on rewatch no. (i’ve lost count):
Along with the foreshadowing of Emma choosing Killian, there was also some serious foreshadowing that he will give up the rum AND the hook, and possibly get his hand back.
“Need a hand love?”
“One-handed pirate with a drinking problem.”
This was also emphasised by the throwing of the rum bottle into the sea and the throwing of his jacket into the sea. The jacket represents who he was then – a lieutenant in the employ of a corrupt king. So when he throws his hook into the sea he will be throwing away Captain Hook as well.
I would love for him to get his hand back, especially if it’s Emma that does it, it would be great symbolism for her bringing him back to Killian. What i love about how they’re redeeming Killian is that they’re doing it through his love of Emma (as was made clear by how he didn’t want to take credit for saving her fathers life), not because he wants Emma to love him. And that is True Love, I cannot say it enough.
Also STILL can’t get over how Pan played on Killian’s insecurities about Emma. Because it’s just SO FREAKING OBVIOUS that they’re TL.
Let’s be real here, Pan seems to know everything. I mean, if Swanfire were TL, don’t you think that Pan would be playing to Neal’s insecurities about losing his mother to Hook? “Oh, Neal, guess what, Emma is with Hook and they have a budding romance” and that would be SURE to inflame Neal’s insecurities to boiling point. But no, Pan is focussing on Killian’s own shortcomings and emphasising that Emma loves Neal. And instead, Pan is playing to Neal’s insecurities about his father. Which to be honest, says to me that Neal’s journey this season is about Baelfire and his relationship with Rumple, and not Emma.
Now, on yesterdays spoiler pics:
I can’t get over them, i really can’t. Because even though we know that Killian is going to struggle with his old habit of being selfish this season, we can see that in the end it won’t matter. He is still alongside Emma, interacting with her family. And Neal is nowhere near Emma in those pictures. Do you think that was an accident? I don’t. So to summarise, no matter what struggles Killian has in Neverland, he still does the right thing in the end, and that will mean something to Emma.
SPOILER AHEAD IN QUOTE:
Any news on what comes next for Once Upon a Time’s Neal, now that he is in Neverland?
Though it appears that Hook will soon share with the others the secret of Nealâs presence on the island, SwanThief fans might be wise to worry about the pirate losing his latest (figurative!) grab of booty. As Colin OâDonoghue notes, âHook spent 300 years looking for revenge because he lost one woman. Who knows what would happen to him if it happened again?â For the short-term, though, the captain wonât be making waves. âHe is desperately trying his best to be a team player, to try and help save Henry. Because he now sees theres more to life than that side of things,â the actor previews. But that said, âItâs very easy to go back to old habits.â
I find this so interesting. Why should Swanfire shippers worry about bumpy seas ahead with CS? Because Killian is in love, and he believes in fighting for what he wants. Now, we as CS shippers know that, but some SF shippers are stubbornly holding on to the idea that Emma is Neal’s object and he should step back, thus taking away Emma’s choice. As we know from 3×05, his storyline is no longer rotating around Rumple/Milah/Bae. It’s around Emma(and now his new found friendship with Charming). The way i’m interpreting what Colin said is that Killian is in love again and it took him 300 years to get over losing one woman, and that it isn’t going to happen to him again. For the moment he’s going to focus on saving Henry along with the rest of the group, but once Henry has been saved he’s going to tell Emma he loves her, and fight for her, because he will also be witnessing how Neal doesn’t/won’t make Emma happy.
So yeah, we got a good bunch of spoilers there.

ParticipantGuys, I just watched the episode!!!!! aaaaaahhh khgirhgkfncbrhgogg They are perfect, just perfect! You basically wrote everything I had in mind and Iâm so happy reading that they really played the CS theme. I thought I imagined it. The way Killian acted after the kiss â he realized he loves her! And she thought: Oh my god, I gotta get out of here before I kiss him again. After seeing this I totally think theyâll be together someday. Even if Pan gets in the way. He couldnât handle it, she couldnât handle it â and I canât handle it at all!!!!
I KNOW WASN’T IT FREAKING AMAZING
I’M WATCHING IT AGAIN RIGHT NOW
HE DEFINITELY LOVES HER
AND YES THEY’RE GOING TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE A BOY CALLED LIAM AND A GIRL CALLED MILAH

ParticipantIt was almost as if this episode was designed to disprove all of the arguments for why Hook isnât good enough for Emmaâboth the ones the characters voice and the ones some parts of the audience have been voicing. Killian Jones became a pirate not because he liked being corrupt but because he wanted to fight against the corrupt king whose desire to slaughter his enemies cost Killian his beloved brother. Killian Jones was a man of honor, and this flashback made me believe that honorable heart was just waiting to be reawakened. He had once been a noble man; he just needed reminding that he could be that man again.
And who was his reminder? A beautiful, strong savior who is just as broken as he is. âGood Formâ showed us Hook coming to the realization that he is, in fact, in love with Emma Swan. It began with their scene in the cave, when Hook tried to tell Emma he understood what it was like to lose hope. The way his eyes lit up when he looked at her as he said the word âhopeâ was breathtaking. OâDonoghue played that moment to perfection; Hook found in Emma a reason to hope again after 300 years without it, and he needed her to know that. But Emmaâs walls came up once again in the face of such disarming sincerity, and she pulled away. Morrison is so good at showing the exact moment when Emmaâs walls come back up around people, and it was so painfully evident in that scene.
The rest of the episode was one scene after another of Hook proving just how much he cares for, understands, and respects Emma. I loved the way he refused to get more rope when Charming told him to but acquiesced as soon as Emma demanded it (or maybe I just loved hearing him call her a lady in that gorgeous accent of his). I loved the fact that he told Charming Emma was a grown woman who could make up her mind about him for herself, especially since so many people have tried to make decisions for Emma throughout her life. I loved that Charming confirmed what we knew to be true: Hook came to Neverland for Emma; he risked his life, gave up his quest for revenge, and journeyed back to the place that killed his brother for Emma. And he also told Charming that he saved him because of Emmaâthat little moment (the wink!) probably serving as my second-favorite moment in the episode. (I think you can all guess the first.) It took me by surprise with its honesty in the best possible way.
The most telling scene concerning Hookâs relationship with Emma was his first confrontation with Pan in the episode. Pan already knew Emma was Hookâs weakness, but Hook never took the bait; he never took the easy way out. He knew Emma would never leave without Henry. Emmaâs strength as a mother is part of the fighting spirit that drew him to her right away, so it was wonderful to see him do the right thing for Emma rather than the thing that would make him happiest. Emmaâs happiness matters more to him than his own, and thatâs the sign of a truly honorable man.
Because Emmaâs happiness matters more than his, Hook was willing to forgo any glory or gratitude from Emma and keep her fatherâs secret even after he saved him. He saved Charming not for any selfish idea that Emma would thank him or feel indebted to him but from a real belief that she shouldnât have to lose anyone else; thatâs what he meant when he said he didnât do it for Charming. But then Charming told a half-truth about Hook saving his life, and this man who was once reviled as a pirate got his recognition as a hero. OâDonoghue played Hookâs reaction to Charmingâs praise perfectly; the living embodiment of honor thanked Hook for being an honorable man, and the bashful half-smile on his face said everything about how much that must have meant to Hook, especially after all we learned about his past.
And then the Charmings and Regina walked away from the toast, leaving only Emma and Hook behind. Iâll admit it; I watched the kiss scene sneak peek more than my fair share of times before this episode aired, but it still managed to take my breath away. There were just so many wonderful things happening in that scene: Hook surprising Emma with his sincerity once again (putting special emphasis on the fact that it was her father he couldnât let die); Emma surprising him right back with her sincere âThank you;â Hook playfully tapping his lips to ask for a kiss he never imagined getting; Emma smiling for the first time in ages as she realized just how much he wants her to kiss him; Emma playing along with his flirting and throwing Hook completely off-guard; the two of them challenging each other; and then the actual kiss. I may love Snow and Charming the most out of any Once Upon a Time couple, but there was no denying this was the showâs best kissâthe showâs hottest kiss. And it was all Emmaâs choice, something she has been denied so many times in her life. Hook let her know he wanted to kiss her, but he let her make that decision on her own. She had all the power in that moment, and she seemed to relish the power he was giving her. And thereâs no way that was a one-time thing. Both Emma and Hook were fundamentally affected by that momentâjust look at his face when they stop kissing and her trance-like walk after she leaves him. But once again, Hook will wait until sheâs ready because he wants to be her choiceâheâs a gentleman of honor. Until then, heâll follow her orders and watch her walk away with an âAs you wishâ on his lips, making Emma smile once again (two smiles in one sceneâitâs an Emma fanâs dream!) and making us all wonder if Hook could be the Westley to Emmaâs Buttercup. The most telling moment in that scene though, comes when the camera focuses on Hook after Emma leaves. Standing there, with his fingers tracing the path her lips made on his, we know thereâs no going back for him. And he knows it, too. For the first time in 300 years, Hook has fallen in loveânot lust, but love. For the first time in 300 years, he has a reason to hope. Emma kissed himâshe kissed himâand nothing will ever be the same for him; itâs written all over his face.

ParticipantI think its huge that Pan is trying to tear apart Hook and Emma, thatâs the big bad always does with true love couples and Neal IS the obstacle this episode made that clear.
1 billion percent agree. Honestly though, if you’re watching the show with any logic at all, you’d be able to spot that IMO.
So i’d just like to, you know, reiterate that next week is going to be TOUGH for us. But regardless of any circumstances under which the saving of Neal goes down, the inescapable fact is that Killian is going to try to rescue him. That will mean something to Emma.
3×06 is going to be designed to make us empathise very strongly with Killian. Jeez, just his face in the promo alone KILLED me. And in the long term it’ll be great, because anyone who is watching the show with no shipping in mind will start to root for Killian to “get the girl”, which is what the writers intend to do, make no mistake.
I have a feeling that the Swanfire reunion will be very emotional and heartfelt – she does love the guy after all. There’ll probably be tears and watery smiles (there won’t be any kissing though). But once that initial reunion is over, Emma will begin to emotionally retreat. We’ve had confirmation from A+E that Emma won’t be running into his arms. So, probably when Neal, Emma and Killian get lost in the jungle together Emma is going to face what she “feels or doesn’t feel” for Neal (quote JMo) and we’re going to see that “the things you say to someone when they’re going to die are not the same as the things you say when you have a chance to sit down and talk” (quote Eddy). So in light of all that I’m going to stick with what i believe that Emma will realise she loves Killian in the season finale, probably in 3×11 but maybe not until 3×22, when he does something sacrificial that constitutes to a “leap of faith” and thus paralleling Emma in 3×01. She won’t necessarily tell him though.

ParticipantOh thank goodness, the press release for Ariel was put out and Hook and David are going to try to rescue Neal, YAY he doesn’t keep it to himself.
So this probably means that Killian’s internal struggle is the fact that he loves Emma, his “sons” girl. But this is a good thingggggg. It’s what we expected all along. Killian will struggle BUT if Emma wants him(and she will)…. you know, that’s it.
But do you seeeeee, he’s going to try to rescue Neal for her, putting her happiness above his own YET AGAIN
THAT IS

Participant@obisgirl – I love your avatar, it’s beautiful, did you make it???
Ooh I have a thought what if Emma tries to kiss Hook again but he stops her and tells her that Neal is alive! Then kablooey everything blows up in his face, and heâs left heart broken as Emma storms off!
Hm, I can’t quite see it playing out like that. I think they’re going to save their next kiss for something special. You know, at a time when they’re looking at each other all intensely and knowing that the other wants to kiss them.
Looking at the kiss in context now there was a very obvious build up to it. It was actually quite similar to “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”. At the beginning of the episodes, Emma rebuffs Graham/Killian denying that she has feelings for them. And after an “eventful” day she plucks up her courage and kisses them. The difference being that Killian didn’t die in her arms.
After watching the whole episode that kiss scene was just so much more special to me.
In their first scene he wanted her to know that he completely knew what having no hope felt like (gawd these two just make me want to FASKFJAKF), just as he had felt at a time, and was telling her that if she wanted to talk about it she could. She of course was terrified at this, feeling like they were connected enough already, so she tried to shut him down. But her body language. He was touching her arm that entire scene, of that i’m nearly sure, and yet she made no move to remove it.
Then in their next scene together she is clearly at war with herself, she is staring at him and he at her, almost flirty, both trying to figure the other out. I just can’t with these two.
Then the kiss scene. It was just so amazing because he had basically spent the entire episode putting her needs above his own. Was completely bashful when Charming gave him credit for saving him. Couldn’t handle her genuine thanks at the situation. And then she kissed him, and both of them were reeling. Him because he realises he’s in love with her. And she, well, she knows now that she’s in deeper with him than she thinks.
The haters favourite argument is that Emma only kissed him just to prove a point, not because she has any feelings for him. But the truth is she has been wanting to do it for a while IMO. She must have been terrified because the last man she kissed that she had feelings for died. And the other one she had feelings for? Left her. It must have taken all her courage to kiss him, and she took a leap of faith.
The fact that her walls slammed back up afterwards doesn’t mean she has no feelings for him, it means precisely the opposite. Because she has to leave, before she gets in too deep with him. And she doesn’t want anything to distract her from saving Henry.
And that is why I don’t think she’ll just randomly try to kiss him again anytime in the next episode or two. Haha.
*sighs* This ship will be the death of me.

Participant@Captain Eala Totally agree with you about what could happen when Hook has to decide whether to tell Emma about Neal or not. You just know Pan isnât going to leave it TOTALLY up to the characters to decide on their own but will try to come up with some way to mess things up.
Oh yes, definitely he will. Because as we know, villains like to mess with True Love, lol đ I mean, he’s consistently messed things up for everyone so far, why would he change now?
OMG so I knew there were some parallels between Good Form and Tallahassee that I noticed, and I thought there would be more since we knew that this episode was to emphasise how Killian and Emma have such a strong connection.
I just logged on to tumblr and saw a post about the parallels, THERE ARE LOADS, go and read them now and your mind WILL BE BLOWN.

Participant****SPOILERS AHOY MATEYS****
Loved, loved, loved it!!! What I loved the BEST was that they did such an excellent job of continuing to show that Killian has been doing everything FOR Emma â coming back, trying to save Henry, saving her Dad â because he loves her and he wants her to see who he REALLY is. When you love someone you want to be the best version of yourself you can be for them â they MAKE you want to be a good person. But at the same time doing those things are also reminding HIM of who he really is â and that is where I think Panâs little plan is going to backfire.
Oh I so agree, and it just kind of underlines the whole “true love” brings out the best in people thing. Because they DO bring out the best in each other. She pushes him to be a better person and he pushes her to open up, to trust and fall in love again. God, these two, I just can’t.
And yessssssssssssss Pan’s plan WILL backfire, because if there’s one thing Pan doesn’t understand it’s LOVE (Kinda like Voldemort lol) but in all seriousness, yes, I agree. They’re the complete antithesis of each other – Pan who has no idea what love is and Killian who loves with everything he has.
I’ve seen some people on tumblr speculating that the New Neverland will be born from Emma’s TL kiss, and well as i’ve speculated that Killian will do something sacrificial in the name of love it only follows on that that TL kiss would come from Emma. I don’t know though, it’s wild speculation, and seems a tad fast for them, but then, they’ve started the ball rolling for Captain Swan in a big way.
I really don’t buy the whole HoTTB thing for the moment, because Pan is a liar. A big fat liar. And he just completely downplayed Emma’s role in the breaking of the curse. But yet we’ve been told that TL is the most powerful magic of all, and Emma is the personification of TL.
Killian will tell Emma that Neal is alive and now will not only lead the effort to rescue to Henry but when he discovers that Neal has been taken captive, will also lead the effort to rescue him as well. He turned him over to Pan once â I donât think he would allow himself to let Pan take him again. There may be some back and forth stuff that goes on in there that makes Emma think poorly of him for some reason but daddy David has been impressed enough with Killian to give him the go ahead with Emma and he has found similarities in their backgrounds with losing brothers so I think he has David on his side to stick up for him now.
Oh I hope you’re right and Killian does that!
But I don’t know, I’ve got some foreboding about the whole thing, it’s been emphasised that Killian will be struggling with himself, and I think this is it. What better thing for him to struggle over but his love for Emma? So i’m going to stick to my original theory so i’m not disappointed. Killian will delay telling Emma, decide to then tell her, Pan will plant Neal’s jacket or something, Emma will find out Neal is alive, she will be furious with Killian. But this is where Charming will step in and stick up for/support Killian.Â
That kiss was only the start, and it’s an uphill battle from here. Ultimately, as David says, TL isn’t easy and must be fought for. I would be worried if we didn’t have to fight for our ship, but honestly, I think that the story between Killian and Emma will be even more epic than Snowing’s. I really do think that’s what they’re going for. And honestly, so far, it is not disappointing IN THE LEAST.
And Iâm wondering about the person in the other box? Could that possibly be Wendy??
I’m leaning towards adult Wendy or Tink, yes. I think Tink is more likely because Pan obviously knows everything that’s going on the island, and so would have seen that Tink betrayed him (he even knew about the CS kiss). UNLESS Tink shouldn’t be trusted by the JR5. I don’t know, everything’s jumbled up.
And can I just say how happy I am that they had Killian refuse to just put his tail between his legs and run away when told to leave Emma alone the way Neal did many years ago???? I thought they handled that brilliantly!! They kept him in true Hook character of in no way ever backing down from what he wants but also not being disrespectful to Emmaâs dad since he was basically telling David âLook, you arenât even going to be CAPABLE of giving orders as her father since you are going to be dead so itâs a good thing that I donât have to be disrespectful when I refuse to stay away from her.â But, in spite of the fact that he knows David doesnât want him around Emma, he saves him anyway and then makes it perfectly clear to David that he did it for EMMA!!!! This guy does EVERYTHING for Emma!!!
LALALALA, nothing to add, you’ve said it perfectly!
Compare that to Neal who was ALL about self-preservation when August told him he knew he was Baelfire and then used the excuse that he wanted to make sure Emma would be safe so he could leave her to protect himself. If he really wanted to protect her he could have said âGreat! Then you know I am familiar with the Enchanted Forest and the Fairy Tales. Since I now know she has this special calling and since I love her so much I will change and make sure she is protected so she can fulfill her destiny, because YOU (August) certainly did a HORRIBLE job taking care of her up to now so why would I EVER trust YOU to tell me what to do to keep the woman I love safe???â
Agree with this 95% of this, but I don’t think ALL of his reasons for leaving Emma were self serving. It think it was 50% about him and 50% about her. But that doesn’t make it ok.
SF shippers are always saying that we think that Neal caused all of her abandonment issues, and while he certainly didn’t help them, what he DID cause were her trust issues. Huge, huge trust issues, which, combined with her abandonment issues made her unable to move on or find closure from him. SHE WAS ALONE FOR 11 YEARS.
And another thing that REALLY annoys me is that we’re called hypocrites for saying that what Neal did to Emma was wrong because Snowing did the same. That both Snowing and Neal have things in common because they were separated from their loved ones by the curse. And while that is true on a very shallow level, it’s just not the same.
Neal made several choices. He made a choice to leave Emma without talking anything over with her. He chose to take the word of a KNOWN LIAR by FTL standards. He chose to give her absolutely NO CLOSURE whatsoever, and in doing so damaged her so badly she’ll probably never be able to fully recover.
Snowing were fighting to get to the real world WITH Emma, not to leave her alone, even if it meant that they would be separated. They made a mutual choice to do it, both knew what was going on and what the consequences would be.
So to me the whole Snowing and Neal having things in common that way is crap, not even on the same planet, that’s my opinion and it’s not going to change. Even if we find out that Neal DIDN’T send Emma to jail (unlikely, but whatever) it won’t change my opinion about Swanfire in the slightest, because theirs is not an equal partnership and make no mistake.
I have been thinking this for awhile but after last nightâs episode I am becoming more and more convinced that Killian (even as Hook) is the most emotionally mature of the characters on the shows. He seems to have an amazing ability to âreadâ other people and to understand exactly what they need, yet he also understands that no one truly grows or learns anything if they arenât allowed to make their own choices â they canât be TOLD what to do, they have to figure it out on their own. Itâs actually sad because he is exactly the kind of parent that Baelfire wanted but rejected. He would be a great father and I think it is interesting that it seems they are trying to show some bonding between Killian and David.
I love everything you just said, and yes, I completely agree that Killian is the most emotionally mature character on the show. We saw evidence of that last night, because he realises now that he loves Emma, and they haven’t actually known each other all that long. Emma is very emotionally stunted, but you can’t blame her. It’s probably going to take her a while before Killian gets an “I love you too” from her.
