    Also, found this online about Mulans line to Neal today.

    Your belief in love wasn’t strong enough to overcome your fear of rejection

    Put that in Hook’s perspective:

    Hook’s need for revenge and to save his own skin wasn’t strong enough to overpower his feelings for Emma and his need to be a part of something

    THIS SHIP IS SO BEAUTIFUL :'( 😀

    I agree. And it goes back to what I’ve been saying. Neal is not only like his dad, in that he’s a coward, his actions, abandoning Emma when he needed her the most, taking the easy way out — that was exactly like Milah. And the fact that neither of them tried to make it work. And the funny thing is, most Oncers generally hate Milah because of what she did but the irony is that, Neal abandoning Emma because he couldn’t try for her and taking the easy way out, is exactly the same thing his mom did to Rumple. And fans love him for it.

    I mostly agree with you here! The difference for me is that Milah did it for very selfish reasons (and knew it), whereas Neal, while he was being cowardly and trying to avoid Rumple, abandoned her in a (misguided) attempt to do good. He probably saw it as a win-win situation. That makes me furious though. I stand by what i’ve said before:  sending her to prison was overkill. He had no right to make that kind of choice.

    I think it’s important to remember that, though Neal will always be a part of Emma’s life due to his connection with Henry, they don’t need to end up together. They can have a friendly relationship. Emma and Neal may try to give it a go, for Henry’s sake, but ultimately they are not the same people they were when they first met. A lot has happened since then.

    Yes, i agree. I don’t think they’ll actually give it another go though, rather discuss the possibility of it. Being in a relationship with Neal again would require Emma to be intimate with him both emotionally and sexually, the man who broke her, which just makes me want to shudder at the wrongness of it.

    First love does not always mean true love. Just ask Rumple. He loved Milah and Cora but it is Belle who is his true love. Characters may ship SwanFire in show because then it would tie everything up in a neat little package, but real life is not like that. Tamara may not have truly compared to Emma in Neal’s eyes, but there will be someone who will.

    Yep, i agree.

    As to whether Tamara didn’t compare to Emma in his eyes, well i believe she did. Because he moved on with her and was genuinely in love with her. Now i’m not saying that he doesn’t still have residual feelings for her, but i think that’s more due to lack of closure. He doesn’t know her anymore (or she him).

    Hook cares about both Emma and Neal so he’s not going to rub Neal’s face in it that he ended up with Emma and Neal didn’t. Hook isn’t going to try and replace Neal in Henry’s life.

    He definitely wouldn’t, it’s clear from the scene where they drink to him that Killian did actually love him. I agree that he won’t try to usurp Neal’s position in Henry’s life, but i am pretty sure he and Henry will get on very well (eventually lol).

    I am really enjoying watching Hook on screen this series. Emma’s “wouldn’t you like to know?” is definite flirty behaviour compared to how she reacted to him last season. Hook’s proven himself to Emma this season and whilst he will pursue Emma romantically, I think he knows when not to push his luck.

    LOL, yes it was definitely flirty!!! And don’t forget the genuine smile from her when he said “excellent show of patience love”. He compliments her so much all the time, I can’t wait until she actually starts taking his compliments seriously.

    He was definitely pushing his luck with that scene though IMO! In the way that when she said “wouldn’t you like to know?” she was expecting something equally as flippant back! But he genuinely surprised her when he said “perhaps i would”. You could see the moment when her walls slammed back up. But the funny thing about it, is that when she walks off and he’s watching her, you can see that he’s not actually surprised or disappointed. That was a VERY calculated, deliberate thing he said – he KNEW how she would react. He basically made his intentions towards her clear in that scene and it scared her.

    From someone who started out absolutely hating CaptainSwan, I must say this ship has grown on me to the point where I quite like it.

    WELCOME TO THE CAPTAIN SWAN SHIP!!! We have rum 😉

    Also between the following:

    1) We got the tweet “actions speak louder than words” from Colin

    2) We got the line from JMo “they have an interesting dynamic, which does play out”

    3) The amazing Snowing kiss that followed the Charming/dwarves drinking scene (foreshadowing!!!)

    we’re going to get a kiss this season. JMo has said that Emma isn’t thinking about romance, but that doesn’t mean that Emma won’t have any romantic moments. So I think we could get it before Neal comes back into the picture, and that would amp up the whole drama of it.

    Headcanon = nearly fulfilled! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Love all of this! Agreed, this stuff is NOT coming out of the blue but has been slowly building and is only now becoming SUPER obvious to those who may have questioned it before. Also really loving the analysis of the show. They have a very limited time to show stuff so to take the time to show us these moments and Hook’s reactions to what Emma says and to have some of these quiet moments where he’s helping and supporting her when they’re on this mission to go get Henry is important. It’s ALL important. Every time we see Hook or Emma talk about finding their happy endings or true love, the camera IMMEDIATELY goes to the other person. That’s deliberate. They could have gone to anyone when Emma talked about being the product of true love. They could have showed a beaming Snow & Charming holding hands and grinning at each other like idiots but they showed us HOOK. Hook and Regina had a genuinely nice moment in the premiere but they made a point of panning to him looking at Emma when he talked of hoping to find his happy ending. They could have just left it as a nice conversation between them, or him looking off into the distance somewhere, but they made a point of showing him looking directly at Emma.

    You’re not going to hear any argument from me! The camera work is very deliberate, trying to get us to see a connection between them, as we can see from obisgirls cinematography link above.

    On top of all the parallels and having Hook OBVIOUSLY trying to win over Charming just like Charming had to win over Grumpy I just…how is it so hard to see the setup? Or at least the potential of it meaning SOMETHING. This is not setting up a FLING, Hook genuinely cares for her and it’s only growing. We’re only 2 episodes in and so many feelings already! This season is going to be great! (Especially for CaptainSwan progression and it’s about time!)

    Not to mention the scene where Charming and the dwarves have a drink to toast starting over, and that leads right into the scene where Emma and Killian share a drink! How obvious can you get???? Hope 3×03 is just as good as the last two were, and I have a feeling it will be, Jane Espenson wrote it.

    So to recap: Hook knows and has always known who she was but still wants to know more, and Neal saying that if he had known who she really was, he wouldn’t have gone anywhere near her. Remind me why I’m NOT supposed to be shipping CaptainSwan?

    Yes!!! This is coupled with the fact that Swanfire don’t have any real deep emotional connection. Like seriously, if Swanfire was supposed to be endgame, WHY ON EARTH would they introduce a character who is just like Emma in many ways, has a huge capacity for love, just happens to be ready to find love again because of a certain person, and give them SUCH a deep emotional connection and sexual chemistry? Don’t Swanfire have enough issues to be dealing with rather than introducing such a good contender for Emma’s heart into the mix?

    Not to mention the fact that in Manhattan they were paralleling Milah/Rumple with Emma/Neal.

    You did this because a seer told you to?

    You left me because Pinnochio told you to?

    Seriously, if they’re trying to set up Swanfire as endgame, they’re doing it wrong. I was doing some small calculations one day on forums/polls and found that it seems to be a 65:35 divide in Captain Swans favour. And 35 is being generous to Swanfire. It doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things obviously, but it does mean that roughly 65 people out of 100 are interpreting things between Captain Swan in the same way. And that number will, I believe, only grow this season.

    Between these moments, the outright statement that Neal can (and has) moved on from Emma before (“If I knew she ok, I could move on”), Charming’s constant “Once you find [true love] it can never be replaced,” the camera purposefully panning to Emma/Hook’s reactions when the other is talking about TRUE LOVE and finding their HAPPY ENDINGS, and now the fact that not only does Hook KNOW who she really is (something that nobody else in her life seems to get yet, even stuff she didn’t want to admit but now has) and ACTUALLY WANTS TO KNOW HER EVEN BETTER vs the guy who, had he known WHO SHE WAS would never have gone near her I just….. Yep, this ship sails itself and they’ve been setting up the slow burn from the beginning. Can’t imagine how anybody thinks this is something new or that we’re still delusional or that it’s one-sided. Emma is becoming more and more impressed and open with him as time goes on and nobody gets the REAL her like he does. Right now it may be mostly Hook, but she is getting closer and closer to accepting just how close she feels to him. Love the gif of Charming reaching for Snow’s hand while Emma puts her arm behind Hook when they’re looking at the map!

    YES. It’s all in the body language at the moment. In EVERY SINGLE SCENE together they are leaning towards each other, mirroring each other, oftentimes are VERY close to each other unconsciously. And then there’s tone of voice changes too. It’s all deliberate. As for people who believe they are going to be a brOTP, well, they’re delusional IMO. Or they can’t interpret body language very well. Either way, body language says it all, and it says that Emma is VERY receptive to Hook. It’s her mind that won’t allow her to be.

    Yep can’t wait for this Sunday. 😉

    Cinematography analysis of Captain Swan scenes. I love this so much especially since we talk so much about these scenes, but not the art of it.

    VEEEERY interesting. Very, very interesting. 😉 hopefully he/she will do some more analysis!

    @obisgirl – LOL! Love that.

    @hookian
    and @MysteryKat – agree with everything you both said! 🙂

    You all may have seen this already, but said I would post it. It’s a review for 3×02 which, I think, sums up very accurately the strides CS made in Sunday’s episode 🙂

    I like to be surprised when I watch television, and nothing on television right now is surprising me more than Captain Hook’s sincere feelings for Emma. Their initial flirtation in this episode was very cute (the bit about perms was hilarious), and I liked that Emma actually seemed to be bantering with him and flirting with him rather than just rolling her eyes. The girl needs something to make her smile, and I think Hook could be exactly that.

    All of that initial flirting culminated in the scene where Hook once again offers Emma rum to heal her wounds. I’m continually impressed with just how intuitive Hook is concerning Emma; he can read her so well, and he offers her a kind of comfort she can accept because it’s simple. He’s not trying too hard like her parents; he’s just a pirate with a flask of rum and a knack for knowing exactly when she needs it.

    I loved the way that scene progressed, from the simple intimacy of drinking together from the same flask to the way Emma suggestively says, “Wouldn’t you like to know?” But then the whole flirtatious tone of the scene shifts when Hook tells her that he does want to know her. The sincerity O’Donoghue gave to that line reading was brilliant; it floored me as much as it floored Emma. There was something so honest, so vulnerable, about Hook in that moment. He wants to know Emma—to know who she is at her core. That’s not just a rogue looking for a conquest; that’s a man developing real feelings for a woman he genuinely cares for.

    The interesting thing about Hook’s desire to know Emma’s truest self is that he already knows it. It took Emma until this episode to admit that she still feels like an orphan, a lost girl. But Hook saw that in her the moment he first found himself alone with her. In an episode where true love was shown as understanding of who a person is at their core (Belle helping Rumplestiltskin see his goodness, Charming helping Snow see her leadership abilities), I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Emma sees in herself exactly what Hook saw when he first looked at her.

    ^^^ Makes me want to die with feels. The media is REALLY starting to get what we have since The Doctor.

    Lovely pic obisgirl – did you see last nights episode yet?? 🙂

    I was thinking about this line earlier:

    Try something new darling. It’s called trust.

    Well, I think we saw at least two examples of Emma trusting Hook’s judgement last night. And it was beautiful.

    I love them so much!!!! *cries*

    Noticing a LOT of positive media feedback for Captain Swan. Feel very vindicated right now. We’ve been saying it going to happen for a year already 😉

    Also forgot to make a note properly of the Captain Charming bromance, which i’m loving. They’re slowly but surely getting there.

    Pretty sure Killian will be the first one to notice that Charming is poisoned and will save him.
