Re-watching it, I see I buggered up Hook’s quote a bit in my previous post. It’s “I’ve outrun many a storm,” so I now vote for the rest of the line being, “but this storm appears to be chasing us.” We’d been thinking that the mermaid attack was right after they arrive in NL, but now I’m thinking there’s some time between the two. Maybe that scene with Hook and Emma comes first, and then the boat starts rocking as the storm whips up, and during the storm is the mermaid attack. Could explain Hook having the key in what appears to be 2 different scenes, one with the jacket, one without? Maybe the storm interrupts their first scene when he’s about the talk about the key, and they pick it up again after the storm/mermaids, (Hook doesn’t have his jacket because he’s drying out after the storm)? That would also allow time for Regina to change into her blue jacket that everyone was all upset about being a continuity error because she wasn’t wearing it at the end of 222.
I like your thinking Phee. What does Emma say to him before that though? “What have you done?!” it sounds like to me. But why would he answer with “I’ve outrun many a storm”…? It makes no sense. Unless that line isn’t actually supposed to follow Emma’s question. But it looks like the same scene.
Sidenote: I love the shot of Hook’s hook catching the wheel.

Also does it look to anyone else that Emma is definitely saying that ” or get out of the way” line to Regina? It looks like that to me.

You mean during the second round of the duel? Because that was not on Hook’s ship. I’m talking about the final confrontation on Hook’s ship.
Yes, the duel in the alley where Rumple beat Hook. He was going to rip out his heart until Milah said “stop!”. If he was intending to leave Hook alive then why was he going to do that?
Dark One Rumple in the Crocodile hasn’t thought of creating the curse yet. I don’t think. There was no mention of it.
Sorry I should have clarified my thoughts better, I meant that if Rumple knew that he was going to need Hook for levarage 300+ years in the future to find his son, how did he expect Hook would do that if he didn’t keep the bean and travel to Neverland? Like Rumple said: “only the Dark One has life eternal”.

If you check out this gif set here, specifically, the last one in the set because the image is lighter. Hook’s hook is actually lying on top of the scarf.
I admit it does seem to be the scarf. I just wish we could see a frayed edge or something, like we do when he’s bandaging her hand. And if it’s not the scarf what else could it be? Ok lol, i’ve just convinced myself haha (most of the credit to you though!)

Wow. I had never considered it that way before. Wow. A+E are just incredible.
BUT how do you explain that it appears that Rumple fully intended to rip out Hooks heart before Milah stopped him? And also, while it appears that Rumple WAS goading Hook into “living long enough”, how did he think he was going to do that without the bean? Rumple thought he had the bean, he was furious when he found out he didn’t have it.

Ok obisgirl, LOVED the post. But I have a couple of questions, hopefully you have the answer to! 🙂
1. Do we definitively know that Hooks scarf was in Emma’s desk? I looked at it really hard several times to try and confirm it but couldn’t seem to. If you have anything that resembles proof that would be great!
2. Do you really think Rumple wanted Hook to stay alive for Emma? I mean, in the present day he is a total SF shipper lol. And then there’s the fact that he wanted him to suffer like he did.
