Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
Yes, and I do not think she is going dark; she is actually becoming like the rest of us! No one is all good, or all evil, but they can be in the middle. Well, maybe Cora, but she is an anomaly because she took out her heart. I hate how they had her so depressed that she could not get out of bed, as she saved her family. Although she manipulated Regina, she was right when she said “..or she can be the Dark One”. The bottom line is that their entire family would have been annihilated, and Henry would never, ever forgive Regina if that happened. I think sometimes David is naive in saying that he will never let Cora hurt them, because he can’t do that with a sword? and the poof right? Rumple did his thing w/her, but she got real and saved her family.
I love the Evil Queen, but Regina has never been a fool, and it is odd that she could not see that Cora was manipulating her so she could be the Dark One. Seriously, it seemed like she was in some kind of trance 1/2 the time! I think that several things were at play: she did not want to be alone, she wanted Henry so badly that she was willing to risk her mother becoming the Dark One.
That said, I believe Snow did the right thing, and if there was a moment when she should have taken to her bed, was at the end of the last episode. She was devastated when she found out Cora killed her mother, and then killed Johanna. It was heart breaking to see her break down w/David holding her up after Cora tossed Johanna out of the window. It would have been more in her character to pull herself together after that, and do what she did w/complete conviction. I would say that if she had been the badass Snow we have come to know and love, I would have liked this “dark” Snow story arc.
I know she and David are the penultimate fairy tale characters so the whole aspect of her becoming suicidal because she is no longer “good” or “pure of heart” would fly with me. I think the one element of the show that will and always remain part of the fairy tale element is the idea of “true love”, because it comes in so many forms.
