Laugh at the SF fans. Afraid of the CS fans?
[adrotate group="5"]lecygneParticipantUgh. I cannot do this anymore. Nealfire is a creation of A&E. They can do whatever they want. We can say they “ruined it” or whatever, but ultimately, he is theirs. And if we accept their account of his arc, then their intent was always to destroy him.
Therefore, I refuse to mourn any longer. NF is apparently completely disposable. We – as fans – are disposable. This is a fictional character whose only goal – in all appearances – was to get people to think he was end game and then to kill him off at random.
The love triangle, the SoD were not the diversions. Swanfire was the diversion.
Separate NF from SF. Separate NF from MRJ. Put on the retrospective goggles. NF was a complete waste. SF was a distraction from the epic story of _____, and I don’t care to find out what _____ is.
lecygneParticipant:’(
I have no more words. I don’t know where we go from here.
I guess I’ll take my cue from A&E and pretend like I never watched this show…
lecygneParticipantAdam and Eddy’s attempts at justifying the decision are crap. I dunno what universe they live in where they thought this was a good and natural development for the story. It was anything but.
They need to explain (1) why it was necessary, (2) why it was necessary now, (3) why it was necessary in this way.
They also need to explain why they didn’t write it.
lecygneParticipantI didn’t like Graham death and I wasn’t into him, I just felt it was unfair… such an aweful life when you look at it. And now Neal… Is redemtion and happy ends only left to villains and trickers?! And I love Rumple, and seriously started to grow on Regina. Hook I won’t comment. But Graham, now Neal… Is that the message of this show, that nice guys will be screwed and, suck it that’s how life works? I don’t remember who says “I’m sick to my stomach”. I am too.
Graham… yes. Sad. But he was incidental. A minor FTL character with no real ties to Emma, the curse, or whatever.
((Not at all to belittle the sadness. I was devastated, but in retrospect, I ***have*** moved on here… I will ***not move on from…))
NF… major (OUAT) FTL character, reason for the curse, Henry’s father, EMMA’S CANON TRUE LOVE, etc etc etc.
This blows that death out of the water.
And then when I think about all the @(#$&%^^ fake deaths on this show.
lecygneParticipantPlease explain to me how this is a good thing other than permitting CaptainSwan? Give me one way that this is a good thing, INDEPENDENT of how it was handled?
A&E tried to turn this into Game of Thrones. Let’s see how it turns out for them.
lecygneParticipantI wasted 2.5 years on this show. For what? I wish I could burn all my memories away and get my 50+ hours back, not to mention all the hours I wasted in anticipation of and now in the wake of the SoD. What was the point of investing in this show? What enjoyment have I gotten, in the end?
lecygneParticipantIs Neal really dead?
Adam Horowitz: He is really dead. The decision was one that was not made lightly. Eddy and I, as we’ve been developing the larger story of Once beyond each individual episode, saw where it was going. Earlier this year, when we realized this is the time that Neal would die, we talked to Michael Raymond-James. We all discussed how to best do this. We did our best. We thought that Michael was brilliantly emotional and amazing on Sunday night as we brought that character’s life to an end.Voila. Done. Done. Doneski.
lecygneParticipantBOLD STORYTELLING MY *$%(*#
Never got a centric of his own
Never explored his past in Neverland
Never got a transition from when he got out of Neverland to Land without Magic
Never got to actually SIT AND TALK WITH EMMA ON REAL MATTERS (This really steams me up)
Never got to be a true father to Henry for more then a week. Or actually saying meaningful things to him.
Never got to explore more of his emotions with his father in front of him
Never got to explore his life within the 10 years he left Emma
Agree. To think about that quote wherever that said “this character had run its course” or whatever makes me want to scream. This character still has TONS of mystery and a LONG way to go. If they can waste/burn an entire season with Regina saying little more than “Stay away from my son, Ms. Swan,” could they not give Neal more than this? I would love to know what MRJ’s actual screen time was.
lecygneParticipantIt is too bold. Bold to the point of jarring and incongruent. Bold to the point of ridiculous and pointless, as if just to shock. This isn’t bold and daring, it’s bold and reckless. It has offended or off-put a large portion of the fanbase.
