OK, so I’m pulling an all-nighter and had time while showering to think about the semantics about what MO322 (or even AO322) would involve.
And let me first say that I am sitting in Le Tent as I type this. I don’t think any of this is spoiler, but I’m going to cover it up. I feel bad for ouatrandothoughts.
1) We have been told that Neal is dead. Like for realsies dead. But what we’re talking about in this thread at this point is not resurrecting him but keeping him from dying OR simply reconnecting Emma + Bae = Henry. This would not negate the for realsies death that we saw in FUO315.
2) We have been told that Neal will (likely?) appear in flashbacks. Anytime we were graced with MRJ during this adventure in quest for Neal would be technically in the past and technically flashback.
3) We have been told that “the actor will leave the show.” What does that mean? As a regular? Occasional guest spots are still okay? If we are to believe the =cough= “truth mill” on Twitter, MRJ left on good terms, so no reason he can’t come back from time to time when plot dictates. Also, see #2.
4) None of this would knock CS out of contention, necessarily. Bringing Henry back from an AU screw up would trump Neal never existing. It doesn’t even have to be Emma realizing her love, wanting to find Neal for herself, etc.
Finally, a while ago, on Twitter, Adam responded to some SFer who said they weren’t watching anymore with “Let me know when you’re watching again” or some such nonsense. At the time, I took it to be some extra insensitive, “you’re not CS, so you don’t matter” type business, but what if it was meant like, “you’ll be back”? Hmmm…And let me close with I think that we are getting ready to drop over the edge. Bringing on more male regulars bodes poorly for MRJ. JMo’s interview bodes poorly for the conspiracy train in any other direction than sad town. The crap writing does not bolster my confidence in A&E + writing team. At this point, I’m just hoping to avoid AO322.
[adrotate group="5"]lecygneParticipantThere’s been no hint that someone is coming back (wouldn’t that come into play in a promo or spoiler? it certainly did LAST week…) and who would then be off’ed permanently?
The only thing that will SHOCK me at this point is if CS itself is shelved. So far, all of the big “shockers” this arc have only impacted those of us who believed in these characters, believed in this story, and believed in A&E. If you believed in any or all of these things, yeah, you were caught unawares. Otherwise, it’s been predictable CS fanfic (outside of Emma’s magic going poof and her unbelievable resistance to his sexxiness): lots of screen time, lots of opportunities, and now the promise of adventures in the finale. (Where was Neal and Belle’s adventure? WHERE?!)
I understand they’re (CSers) not happy… mostly re:Emma being a spiteful biddy. However, it has been all kinds of crazy plot devices to drive these two together (and rid the field of any competition… including SQ).
lecygneParticipantAre there any explanations why Zelena has focused her attention on Hook and not Henry? Why on earth would she try to get Emma to sacrifice for a man she barely knows (let’s get real on the timeline here folks) as opposed to going after her child? Or are we just to turn a blind eye to all signs pointing to this as contrived CS garbage, =cough, cough= I mean, a sign that Zelena knows more about Emma than Emma knows about herself?
lecygneParticipant-bracing myself for more CS fanfic- will catch up on episode via spoilers, y’all. This girl can’t watch.
lecygneParticipantIt’s clear that the show has jumped the shark, so any current resemblance to breadcrumbs pre-3B is purely coincidental or perhaps residual at this point, IMHO.
-sigh-
lecygneParticipantPerhaps in order to save SB, Emma and Hook MUST marry… You know, to go along with cursed lips.
lecygneParticipantIn what world does Emma make sense marrying Hook at this point?!!! Gag. Even if it is AU, there’s been anti-build up to this point.
lecygneParticipantOMG, @Phee, that flaming BTTF3 train is exactly how I picture what happens when the conspiracy train passes through Sad Town and breaks through the barricade (DSB drew) at the end of the track… lol!
Seriously, though, the show has totally lost its way. I feared that this would happen as early as S1… like, do they really have a story to tell, or are they just winging it episode by episode? Then there was Swanfire, and I said, YES they DO have a story to tell! And now with Swanfire with a damaged hull in a dry dock that has been permanently evacuated of all repairmen due to radioactive fallout from a nearby nuclear meltdown… well, everything has been destroyed.
I want a refund for this trip. Vacation destination changed by conductors while in route and highly unsatisfactory substitution made.
lecygneParticipantIt’s actually Shatner’s face superimposed on a stained glass window of St. Hugh of Lincoln, who is associated with SWANS. Here is a repost of the whole image, because I love it and I will share it again. (Please forgive me everyone who’s seen it before.)
I keep telling myself that Shatner thinks he’s coming back and, well, it’s SHATNER.
lecygneParticipantAnd Shatner says have hope!
