It was you, Josephine! Couldn’t find the post anywhere, but it was your theory that got me started on a lot of my own theories for the show. Can’t believe no one on fanforum liked it, it makes so much sense – especially since true love is intertwined to anything and everything to do with this show now!
I’m also a believer that Baelfire is going to be Henry’s father and Rumple’s grandson. And only strengthen this resolve upon rewatch: Gold and Henry seem to always mirror each other during scenes: even in their first scene together, both end up looking over their shoulder at the other as Gold leaves. Both throw apples over their shoulder in The Thing You Love Most; and the entire exchange in the Pawn Shop. I used to just think it was a mistake in staging or that Robert and Jared just really enjoyed each other and that was what I was seeing/picking up on: but now I’m convinced they were setting up a connection for next season. I even freaked out when Gold asked Henry about a scheme to help Mary Margaret get out of jail, so now I have to convince my Gran that Gold isn’t going to kill Henry later in the season.
I’m not sure about the DNA thing and can see Baelfire/Henry’s dad coming to town and then things start to add up. Maybe things could start being hinted at if Rumple uses his favor and Emma has to help search for Baelfire, but part of me feels the favor has to be a bit more complex than simply find my son.[adrotate group="5"]Before I joined the site, I remember someone stated in a forum the possibility that Henry is the newest link in a cycle of true love. I’m currently looking through old posts, and hopefully can give this person credit later on. The idea was that Ruth and her husband were each other’s true love and had Charming. King Leopold and Snow’s mother had true love and made Snow. Then the products of true love meet, we’re each other’s true love, and made Emma. If Henry’s dad does turn out to be Emma’s true love, Henry has generations of true love behind him, and if magic is fueled by true love in this world, Henry could probably be very powerful (but in need of training.)
