I’m with you Naomi – I’ve been a Swanfire supporters since I started in this fandom – but IF he isn’t Bae, pretty sure I’ll have to go with Swanthief. Whoever Neal ends up being, he and Emma need to be together. ASAP!
Just-call-me-a-hooker made the above gif series on Tumblr and I have to share it will MRJ fans! It’s based around ‘the way he looks’ at Emma and WOW! This guy can convey EVERYTHING (…almost 😆 ) in just a few scenes.
Got an anonymous message on Tumblr about how Neal probably doesn’t even remember Emma after 10 years…sure! That makes sense with what this actor showed us so far! 🙄

I think his birthdate was March 21st? 1977 – and I’m betting it’s false information. Maybe Bae landed in our world March 21st 1991, faked Amnesia when he couldn’t answer police/social worker questions – and the most they got out of him was that he was 14 years old. I read somewhere (think Tumblr theory) that 1991 was the year Beauty and the Beast was released in theaters so it could be another tie to Rumple – weren’t there like 3 more ties to Beauty and the Beast in his apartment?
I’m going to have to do a rematch of season 1 now – didn’t Emma say in episode 1 that (henry’s dad) doesn’t know. That seems pretty true..
Had the idea of listing everything we know about ‘Neal Cassady’ – kind of a way to get through this two week wait (possibly more.. 😥 ) and maybe add the list to the first post.

He was Emma’s Ex
He was the first person Emma said, “I love you” to. – Believe this was stated in Eddy&Adam’s podcast
He is Henry’s father
He has a scar from a knife fight on his left arm
Was a thief
Records claim he was born in New Jersey
Had no idea what a dreamcatcher was

If Henry is in danger, could that force Neal/Baelfire to reveal himself to Rumple earlier rather than later? Even if he doesn’t figure out Henry’s his yet, can see Neal trying to save Emma’s son.
Think Adam & Eddy confirmed ‘Neal’ is the father on their podcast. Could have happened after. Or maybe even before. ‘Neal’ told August he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her-setting up a lot of possible stife for the rest of Emma’s backstory.
I’ve been searching for something like this since Sunday – thanks so much! Really enjoying it and can’t wait for more! 😀

Was shocked at first that Neal hasn’t popped up in Storybrooke after we learned what the postcard meant – but it kind of makes sense. He abandoned her and I can see Neal internalizing his guilt into feeling he has no place in her life ten years after the fact. For all he knows, Emma has broken the curse and started living her happily ever after – since I think he is legitimately still in love with her, can see him debating what will make her happy and thinking it isn’t him. 😥
As for his job – I’m thinking, like Emma, it will be something linked to his criminal skill set and he was spot on with pricing those stolen watches. Plus, the collection of interesting gadgets and things in his apartment…I’m going to say Pawnbroker and Antiques Dealer.
Like Adam and Eddy seem to be teasing us about, it really could be anything.
