Totally agree – ‘Neal’/Emma is true love. They’re both broken but both were/are willing to do anything for the other – and becoming better people because of each other, IMHO. Yeah, they stole together but I feel they had a balance both probably hadn’t had their entire lives when they meet.
Before last night, I’d say we’d have to wait awhile to see them back in action – not so sure anymore. ‘Neal’ doesn’t really need redemption in the audiences eyes – just Emma’s. And I can’t see either of them dating or playing hard to get if they were within miles of each other – not even Emma. Shocking but true. I can see August getting the full force of both resentment.
The main issue is going to be Emma finding out what happened and think he put the curse before her, IMHO.

Rumple already has a vendetta against him for pretending to be Bae. When Papa learns that Bae’s ‘happily ever after’ was postponed by a puppet….
Snow and Charming still haven’t learned that he took Snow’s place (that she could have raised her child!).
……Gepetto and August will be universally hated at some point.

Oh, ALL FOR IT! Especially if he did have something to do with Henry’s adoption/knew Emma was pregnant (seems unlikely to me but I could see them doing that now!)
Wanted a bromance but I think Bae will at least get a punch in. August should be lucky if Bae get’s there before Emma. Bae at least seems level headed enough to stop at some point – Emma is going to destroy him when she finds out! 😈

We might also need to start raising money for the therapy sessions – not sure if they’ll be for us or for him yet. 😆I just realized that Emma spent two years in Tallahassee after she left prison. She was probably still waiting for Neal.
😥 That might be all my heart can take tonight! But so true! She made his gift into a necklace she always wears, kept his car – I bet she tried to track him down and waited for him in Tallahassee. So – why did she tell Henry she has nothing to remember him by? Is it just too painful to talk about it since she’s never found him but also never let go?
I don’t think I can picture Emma being with anybody but him–seriously, he was the one (the only one who was not family) that put her first because he loved her, and not because she was The Savior or because she had magic.

I’m probably lucky I didn’t have any other ships for Emma because these two NEED to be together. IMHO, she is clearly still in love with him and I’m going to say vice versa. I don’t think I could even watch the two of them try to date other people at this point (which is what I was expecting for awhile with Swanfire being end game).
Nope, no casual dating for them! They need to get back together, enjoy their awesome son, and have many more children like ASAP….or as soon as this ‘final battle’ is out of the way.
Can anyone now see either’s ‘happily ever after’ not linking back to each other?
I wondered if August arranged the adoption for a second but since Emma only learned she was pregnant after he was already spending her money in Phuket doesn’t seem like he’d come back to the US for 10 years or know about the baby yet.
If Emma and Neal came to Storybrooke after ten years, I was working under the assumption they would have raised Henry and he would have also come with his parents. Pretty confident (after what we saw tonight) kissing either Neal or Henry would have worked to break the curse.
It had to be Emma’s ‘true love kiss’ because of the drop of potion Rumple put on the parchment. No one else would have worked because she was the only product of that specific true love.
At least I’m not alone in my delusion of reality! 😀
Even the dreamcatcher thing had me thinking about Bae. First, really had no idea what it was (like a person who came into our world as a teenager, not a child might!) and then the hint that he has bad dreams (like I’m sure Bae has!)…and longing for a home. I know these could fit a lot of broken people – but it’s so like I’ve imagined an adult Bae!
Feel really sorry for this guy. Bae never seemed to catch a break in life (mother left, war, father becomes the dark one, trapped in a world alone)…If he is Bae, Bae is the most unlucky character!
Can’t wait for ‘Neal’ to come to town looking for Emma and meet Henry!
I’m actually wondering if August’s entire part in tonight’s episode might have prolonged the existence of the curse not ensured Emma broke it. I mean, if it was her destiny to break the curse – regardless if she moves to Tallahassee with her boyfriend or not- she would have still ended up in Storybrooke on her 28th birthday: possibly with a son and husband and happy last 10 years of life. And the first time she kisses either one within the borders of Storybrooke – BAM! No curse! 😀 No months of Emma trying to figure out what the heck is going on!
I think August was motivated because as a writer he see’s the hero suffering and alone leading up to their heroic deeds and thought that was necessary for Emma.
Yeah, I can’t see an adult male in our world reacting like that to ‘do you believe in magic?’ Plus, really understanding that he can’t be in the person he loves life because of a curse her destiny is to break – that isn’t something any man I’ve dated would just nod and accept! Full circle, if August’s story included Rumpelstiltskin’s part (but he probably just believes it was Regina – right?) I can see Bae knowing he needs to do the honorable thing so it’s broken.
He’s Bae! I may be delusional at this point but that’s still what I see.
