Kind of thought he’d be in the Whale spectrum of ‘creeper’ but he really wasn’t. Overall, interested in seeing his character develop and see how dark he’s become after losing Milha and everything that went down in Neverland. Worried that his motivation is a bit faulty since they didn’t really develop the Milha/Hook love story – except saying that it totally happened and they loved each other.
I’ll buy that they were in love and everything – but wonder if it was ‘true love’. Probably should assume it was since Hook reacted to her death by living forever for the purpose of killing ‘the crocodile’…but still wonder if he’ll end up being another redeemable villain in a few seasons…

Looks like it! And Daniel seems to be the famous Frankenstein monster. I guess now the question is who will kill the monster? Looks like Regina may have…

Really can see Hook and Cora sailing into Storybrooke before Emma and Snow.Really like this idea (ideas more like! 😀 ). It allows for so many future plots and seasons. It explains why this guy was firstly labeled the Mystery Man – and not an alias of Jack or Neal Cassady to start. Could even see him thinking of himself as ‘the Mystery Man’ – since he’s had so many different identities/lives and has been other ‘characters’ longer than he was Baelfire.
I think, if Bae/Mystery Man is a portal jumper who has assisted characters in other lands (in other well-known stories) there would be a very interesting parallel between him and Rumple. Also, between Mystery Man and Henry- who could have been essential learning and piecing together the stories that his grandfather and father brought about.
That being said, my only issue is Bae using magic. Even before his father abandoned him for magic/power, Bae resisted using it. Can’t see an adultBaelfire really utilizing magic or making it part of his persona. I can see him instead looking down on overuse of magic and the people desperate enough to want it. Then again, if he is partly the Wizard of Oz – he wouldn’t be ‘using’ magic just tricking people into thinking he is while using his gadgets and intelligence. Again, another interesting parallel between him and Rumple – if it’s true.

Seriously second this. For all everyone knows, he was also a victim of the curse (don’t know why Regina hasn’t publicized that he created it – yet!) I think Emma was the only person told that he created the curse and she’s not around to tell. Even with past histories on the table, Mr. Gold is the only one who can match Regina in power. I can’t see anyone believing that Regina has repented, given up magic, and is no longer a threat. Mr. Gold is who you’d want on your side in this magical power-struggle – even when everything tells you he’ll continue working all angles. 😕
Also, image is everything in politics. He’s back to looking like a human, not a shiny imp anymore. Plus, Belle as a true love has to be good PR. Look at their matching blue and red outfits for next week: Rumple and Belle could pull off a political power-couple!
The only main obstacle would be the Blue Fairy, who KNOWS he was planning to make a curse and find his son since day one of this scheme. But: maybe fear will win out over reason?
I think Rumple might have the Holy Grail! Didn’t he remove a golden goblet and replace it with Belle’s chipped cup in Skin Deep?
Maybe his centuries of life aren’t just a part of being the Dark One..
So since in later episodes spoilers – we see Cora and Hook on a ship together, is it safe to assume he tricked Emma out of the compass (and possibly left her to the Giant) while he and Cora sail to Storybrook. If he and Cora get there before Snow and Emma – things are going to get VERY BAD! 😮
I assume everyone already reads the other episode spoilers since their on this thread, but I’ve spoil tagged this just in case someone isn’t caught up with the spoils. 😀
It was Cora boarding the ship with Hook. I guess there is a movement going in the fandom where they could be one and the same, but right now we can safety say that Hook and Cora were on a ship together in later episodes.
So…I guess the massacre of the survivors means we’ll never find out if any of them were important fairytale characters….was kind of wondering if anyone else there would be an important storyline – guess not!
Really! Hook looks like he’s just taking a nap amongst the bodies, not like he just managed to survive! Emma and Snow will so call his bluff!
