Had a theory, then saw this.
Maybe Belle was coming on the road trip (and he’s told her what’s going on….)
[adrotate group="5"]He did have out maps from 3 New England States: Mass., New York, and what I’m guessing is Maine. That doesn’t mean he’s narrowed it down to those locations. Since their the closest to his current location, I’m guessing he had planned to start local and then branch out. If he hadn’t been looking at a globe last season, I’d question if he realizes how big this world is.
I don’t think he wants to go back either, but I think of all the characters that would have a safeguard – it would be Rumple. For a rainy day, etc. Sorry I didn’t make that clear in my post.
I think he could get Jefferson to help – make a deal etc. Jefferson avoids Charming for awhile but then pops and has ‘an idea’ to help Charming bring them home. Rumple can pretend that he and Charming were hands off the other’s problems and gets Emma back in time to use up his deal. But Rumple could have a way up his sleeve. He and Regina didn’t want anyone knowing the Enchanted Forest still existed but I wouldn’t put it past Rumple to have been saving something for after he finds Baelfire.
Totally agree with everyone- daughter of finders, career as a finder, I really think a lot of Emma’s backstory is to make her a strong tracker for finding Bae. Now – will Rumple be more active in helping to bring Emma and Snow home, now that he’s invested in their return? I buy that he’s not one for realm jumping, but I can see him approaching Jefferson and getting the ball moving – all without Charming’s knowledge of course.
Could she have even just walked out when he started breaking things to see what was going on? He better explain to her at some point about losing Bae and having to find him in this world. I really don’t get how it hasn’t come up – maybe just so the writers can have added tension in their relationship 😡

That could be interesting! Maybe Regina is called to do something that requires an unsafe amount of magic (somehow linked to saving/protecting Henry) and it backfire’s turing her green.

I do think Emma is going to end up being the most magically powerful thing in our world based on last week – and I’d love to see her reaction if/when she finds out she’s a witch! It is Emma though, so she probably won’t be traveling by pink bubble… 😆
I’m probably just impatient to see OZ. Ever since the portal door in Jefferson’s hat – I’ve been excited!
If Cora is the Queen of Hearts, maybe she did end up losing her Queenship the first time to ‘the White Queen’ aka – Snow’s mother? Both King Leopold and King George seem to be the rulers of the surrounding lands – and both seemed to have chosen ‘true love’ over a girl who can spin straw into gold.
There doesn’t really seem to be a deep passion or love between Cora and Henry Sr. (who seems to be only a lord or something) but maybe he ended up being the best she could do.
He did make a point that Regina didn’t look like a young Cora – which could bring to question who she does look like…But I linked that more in Regina being innocent and hopeful still. I’m betting the Cora he meet was a very desperate soul, and already power-hungry.
Can’t wait to see the Miller’s daughter scenario play out! I do think Regina was the child he was promised. I’m wondering if Cora double-crossed him on the deal – something beyond just figuring out his name or stealing his spell book – there’s something dark between those two that lead to that kind of revenge…
Rumple really was beyond creeper in this episode towards Regina – I wonder what plans he had for her if she had stayed his? Since he needed the product of true love, would he have played ‘fairy godmother’ to Regina and gotten her a happy ending with her true love – and been ‘grandfather’ to the savior? I might not be able to like Rumple if all this was orchestrated – that he saw what needed to happen and made sure the Regina became the evil queen, etc…. 👿
