Probably for the best, GoldenKey – it can get pretty addictive.

We seem to have an official title now: ‘The Doctor’.

So – just read a post on Tumblr claiming that ‘Once Upon A Tail’ is not the correct title for this episode.

“Once Upon a Tail” is NOT the correct title of Episode 5 of season two. Neither is “Hook Night” the title of Episode 3. I’ve been researching the hell out of this “news”, and both titles seem to be traced from IMDB. This website is NOT an accurate source of information, I repeat, DO NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE.

Looked around, and can’t find an official source that has titled this episode. Some fan theories about Whale may still work – if ‘tail’ doesn’t factor in.

I remember someone posting a pretty strong argument that a ‘Whale’ is on a banner seen in Desperate Soul, the banner of the Duke of the Frontlands. That could be the link to his name, that he is a descendent/heir of this family. His hatred for Regina (seen in the first season 2 clip) could be rooted in her changing him into an animal form (with a tail). An actual giant whale (Monstro) could make sense. But wouldn’t they have dropped a scene where there is some type of natural tension between him, August, or Mario? Especially in Return. Could take up to even half a second but at least plant the idea…It could be Puss in Boots….or any number of fairytale characters who were turned into animals.

Wonder what happened between him and Regina? How could he have gotten on her bad side?

I keep going back to this whole lecher characteristic. What literary character was a complete lech? Must have blocked a lot of them out….

Now knowing his reveal episode is titled, ‘Once Upon A Tail’ – Puss in Boots could be it. Don’t know much about that character, but it seems possible. The BIG Bad Wolf could be interesting – but don’t see how ‘Whale’ came from that idea.

David: Oh man, you don’t even know. We just finished episode 5, which is gonna knock your socks off. I’m back in a big way! You’ll learn who Dr. Whale is – I’m the only fairytale character who hasn’t been revealed yet, but I promise you, I’m not just a womanizing lech who occasionally heals people. I’m still a pussy-hound, but the magic is released so everyone is realizing who they are. We’re dealing with the magic in Stroybrooke first and the love stories will come later. But you learn what world I come from, who I am and it’s really cool. I think there was a poll of 10,000 people and six guessed who I am correctly. All is revealed in the Halloween episode.

Thought this was interesting, mainly because I thought Whale being a creeper was just part of the curse and that his character would really be an honorable guy (for the most part). Some people are reading into his ‘you learn what world I come from’ comment to mean he’s defiantly not from Enchanted Forest…

Already decided he HAD to be Gulliver or Dr. Frankenstein…Quick, can anyone come up with evidence that works ‘tail’ into Frankenstein?

I wonder if the shock will somehow work into a ‘layered’ reveal. He was _____________ in fairytale land until Regina turned him into something else: possibly Monstro. He seems to be laughing at what appears to be Regina unable to cast a spell (just my opinion on the interaction, sure it’s wrong).

I think Michael Raymond-James is Jack from the casting call who is really Henry’s dad/Baelfire. Again, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s the real Jack as in the real Jack from the Beanstalk story just going by that particular much more common name in our world.

That would kind of be an amazing twist. Didn’t the actor playing Lancelot think he was auditioning for another character until he got the role? It doesn’t seem to work when I think about the beanstalk and the ‘Giant’ but those could easily equal other things. ‘THE GIANT’ could be another role, the beanstalk easily how Snow and Emma are returning. I’ll be disappointed not to see Dylan Schmid climbing that thing…but will recover!

zlfh4 – Exactly! The balance needed to be restored from Charming killing the siren, and it ends up being his mother.

I’m pretty sure Charming has been using the same sword since the Shepherd. But, if they are setting up Ruth to make an appearance every once and awhile – I could see her giving swords out to different characters – Emma or Henry included. I can’t really factor Arthur into the equation yet but maybe his story/character will only be lightly referenced next season and we won’t get his story until season 3 or later.

I’m calling that: Ruth will become the Lady of the Lake.
