ParticipantCould someone explain to me why every time I post images (and I do check to make sure they aren’t already being discussed- I at least try to be respectful of others!) instead of discussing them from my posts, they turn up here? I get that they work into episode 5, but they are also relevant to where I posted them. And then to led with my scales idea and mock it – do you realize how rude you are?
I get that this is what the forums are like now, and actually am now expecting utter disrespect from all angles!
I guess thanks this time for actually including that I had posted them elsewhere and then rewording everything I had said – makes it SO much better! ๐

ParticipantNever mind scales. Other picture makes it clear that it IS the whole arm.

ParticipantSo…did Dr. Whale lose an arm? Is it in the cooler? That seems to be what everyone is jumping to right now.
But, the green screen on his arm is only covering a section. I’m wondering if he’s morphing and possibly hiding his arm in the other shots: scales maybe?lilred
ParticipantThat’s a really good point Marilou- whoever has written the book does seem to be limited in the story, maybe to highlight the viewers own understanding of the tales? I hadn’t really questioned the credibility of the book before – but now I really am! Thought it would be someone with first-hand knowledge of most of these stories (Rumple or Blue Fairy) but it could be an interesting twist to have it be a spectator of these events or maybe someone collecting these stories from second-hand sources…Is there a Rita Skeeter in Fairytale land? ๐

ParticipantBack to Henry – really do see him evolving into a very noble Prince-Charming type. Didn’t Jared even joke about wanting a sword this season on twitter?
Found this quote from the creators about Henry in season 2:
I think with Henry thereโs a real sense of getting what you want, but itโs not what you thought it would be. He just assumed that when the curse broke, he would end up in the Enchanted Forest and be learning how to be a knight.
For both Henry and Emma, there may be obvious allusions to well known characters and stories but in the end their not going to be unfolding as just one well known characters. Emma alluded to Prince Phillip in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, is symbolic of the Ugly Duckling, and may also be Alice like since she and Snow appear to be transported to another realm next season.

ParticipantCould this be the season for father/child angst? ๐
We give Rumpelstiltskin so many angsty options: he either discovers that his son has changed and become a dark individual with trust issues or has died, making centuries of work and obsession utterly pointless. For me, I think it will really come down to what they plan on doing with Rumple’s character. If Baelfire is alive and became a jaded adult – Rumple may actually have to become the ‘bigger’ man to restore him. My issue with this is that it may place Rumple into more of the ‘good’ spectrum a little early in the show. But, with this character, it’s always open that he will act more morally gray throughout the series – even if the goodies assume he’s working with them.
One route of Bae being dead may be Rumple making peace, tracking down his descendants, and piecing together that Bae had a happy (magical-less) life – but how likely does that seem? That doesn’t sound like Rumple to me. Maybe that’s what someone like Charming would have done in the situation, but not Rumple for me. I see a greater possibility of him completely losing it – becoming something darker than we’ve seen yet on the show and staying that way for some duration. If this happens, I’m not saying he’ll be the main antagonist/villain till the show ends (or that Belle can’t bring him out of it, to reach some portion of route one) but it will be a longer, bumpier road.
Why do you think he’ll serve the story better dead, PriceofMagic?

ParticipantI’m staying, but probably going to start utilizing the friend/foe settings for awhile…
He’s probably expecting his son to still be similar to the last memories he had, but if Bae became Jack and Henry’s father, while I think he’ll be on the side of good, he’ll also probably be very cynical at the very least, and perhaps seem very dark.
Second this! Think about his confrontation with August. I can’t think of the direct quote, but it was something along the lines of ‘you’ve always been the bigger (better) man, son. Now, I need you to be the bigger man once again and forgive me.’ He seems to expect the anger and bitterness, but still thinks his son has retained his bravery and noble nature. If Bae is (at least on the surface) the complete wreck some of us are suggesting – think how crushing that will be for Rumple and the amazing acting opportunity for Robert Carlyle (maybe enough to actually get a nomination!)
Have you heard anything else about MRJ’s proposed pilot, ANTBEE? That wonderful gif series on tumblr had me completely ready for him to be Baelfire…and now…….I’ll kind of be disappointed if he’s just Peter Pan or Jack (or other).

Participant….clearly we’re aware of that. Thought that was very upfront and what is already being commented about..

Participantbut the name Gordie means large fortification.
MY MIND IS BLOWN! WOW!
I don’t see how Baelfire would not have ended up in the system (assuming he’s alive and currently an adult around mid-30s…)
Honestly, Pinocchio wasn’t my favorite movie growing up, so I had to google the film..thought I remembered Pinocchio meeting up with a gang of boys and stealing…
From Wikipedia:
On his way (to Pleasure Island) he befriends Lampwick, a misbehaved and destructive boy. Soon Pinocchio and the other boys begin to enjoy gambling, smoking, getting drunk and destroying Pleasure Island..the island harbours a terrible curse which turns boys who “make jackasses of themselves” into real donkeys, who are then sold to work…
Was going to go into the possibility that Bae came into the group later (maybe Gordy recruits other orphans often?) and that Gordy was the leader of the gang…but now I’m just interested in the name ‘Lampwick’…..
