I’m not sure about Emilie de Ravin playing her. If, in a past life, Belle abandoned her child and husband to run away with Hook – I’m not sure how I’d feel about Rumbelle anymore… I guess I’m more comfortable with Rumple’s marriage being, at best, polite. But both had another true love waiting for them. Someone from another site was ranting that Belle couldn’t be Rumple’s true love because he loved his son so much, Bae’s mother had to be his one true love. (Isn’t the show pretty clear that Rumbelle is true love!)

Leaving out the possibility that she may be Rumple’s ex and Bae’s mom, I could see this character being Cora or a Mills ancestor. I’ve even tried saying miller in a Scottish accent and keep getting ‘Mil-ha’ . I could see Cora changing her name to something grander after her deal with Rumple. Also, I’ve read theories that Jefferson may have been Cora’s first son (the one the miller’s daughter promised to Rumpelstiltskin.) If there’s any merit to that: could Jefferson be the son of Hook and Cora? Grace is the name of a famous pirate I adored as a kid….

I think we’ve got a troll. Can’t tell though, started laughing at Henry being explained as a weak bastard boy. Wow! Someone needs to watch their language on this site!

It is strange that she would know his name and his bond with his father…the Keegan Connor interview said something along the lines that she may have had a past/past interactions with Rumple and have been protective of him/wanted him to be the man she remembered again. Of course, vague enough that it could mean a couple things, but it does seem like she is connected to this family and had been watching them for some time. Which sounds kind of creepy! 😯

Maybe she was Baelfire’s fairy Godmother or behind the mystery of what happened to Bae’s mom?

Most of the first season has Rumpelstiltskin as the puppet master/ trickster. As good as he is in that role, I could see someone else really holding the strings.

Had thought the BF sent Bae away, planted the idea of the curse into Rumples mind, because of the diminishing resources in EF for awhile. Which led to Rumple tricking Regina – and Regina manipulating all she could.

Now, I’m wondering if we haven’t met the true ‘puppet master’ yet! The BF may be the oldest and most powerful being in EF, but when I look at the doors: I wouldn’t be surprised if there was someone else lurking who has even more power. We haven’t yet learned where the Dark One originated from, or how he came to the EF?

Has anyone else thought that Rumple as the ‘Dark One’ is very similar to Loki from Norse mythology. Both are tricksters, can help in a journey or cause untold hardships. Mischievous! I’m not sure the creators would take on Norse Mythology (since it’s currently present in pop culture), but now I need a picture of the portal doors again!

Yeah, I should have phrased everything better. I’m assuming Jack will be some type of criminal since theft and murder seem to be such a large part of the actual story: but he could easily JUST be a guy that travel by bean/beanstalk.

As for Beaman: if Hook was a notorious pirate-villian, I can see him laying low while he figures out the power struggle in Storybrooke. He sounds like another clever villain, so waltzing around town, waving his hook around and introducing himself as Capt. James Hook doesn’t make infiltrating different sides as possible.

I think I could get on board with MJR being Peter Pan because it would shock me. Right now, I really think that’s who he is… He would definitely be different than most Peter Pans I’ve seen, including the grown up Peter played by Robin Williams in Hook. Which would be exciting: don’t most of us love this show because we get to see these characters re-done?

I don’t know what to think of Milha, yet. Googled the name, appears to be a mile/distance unit in Brazil. Ever time I see it, though, I think of ‘Miller’…don’t know why.

Why it makes sense that she is Rumple’s wife who abandoned her family for adventure and dashing pirates- I also wonder if there’s a connection to Regina’s story…Probably not!

The thing is, I don’t trust Gepetto. We already know that he’s worked behind the scenes for his own happiness. Although I find it hard to dislike him because he chose his son over the world, it wouldn’t be a shock if he finds August (still in wooden form), is for some reason turned away by the Blue Fairy, and turns to Regina out of desperation (maybe mirroring the father/son desperate souls dynamics.)

I’m intrigued by the possibility of Emma, the savior, turing against her own. Is there a bigger shocker than Emma being the traitor? Now that magics back, I’m sure reneging on a deal with Rumpelstiltskin is impossible.

IDK, maybe she just thought a woman who would try to kill a girl she {kind of} raised was incapable of love. But…I guess we really don’t know what the Snow/Regina dynamic was like from age 13 on. Regina could easily be a ‘handsoff-stepmother’.

We’ve had questionable dialogue from Snow before. Her telling Charming in the first episode that Regina made her eat a poisoned apple because she thought Snow was ‘prettier than her’ still kind of irks me: there had to have been several ways they could have phrased this without giving the backstory away, but still have it make sense for fans re-watching! And Snow knew very well why Regina wanted her gone.

They are SO messing with us. Stupid ‘mysterious-man’ label!

The following is just based on seeing MJR in True Blood and Walking Dead: so it is somewhat limited in the scope of his acting, I’m sure.

Beaman: I really think this is the Storybrooke counterpart of Hook, that a notorious pirate would be a real world antiques dealer that obtained some pieces through….questionable means. 😎

Smee: I even think I suggested this at first, thinking he had to tie in with Hook (and that MJR would make a cool pirate based on what I’ve seen him in). Really though, Smee is comic relief. I’m not saying the actor couldn’t be a riot in a comedy, but I haven’t seen him in that role.

Jack: He does have a swagger and since Jack is going to be a criminal: I could see it. Also, Jack sounds pretty layered as a character. In True Blood: he definitely pulled off a highly layered man. Compassionate listener, understanding boyfriend, great with kids, loving brother but also a psychotic killer! 😯

Peter Pan: Not my favorite option, but looking at the tree house picture…and the episode order, I am starting to wonder. I would be shocked to watch MJR on a sunday night, flying around in green tights…so maybe it’s a wonderful idea? 😀

The thing is, I would hate (if he is Peter Pan) that he was also Emma’s Ex, Baelfire, or all three. Baelfire landed in a world without magic and, since he probably had horrible experiences in our world like all the other FTL kids, the least they could give the character is a period of time without dealing with magic, fairies, and power-hungry adult males! About the Emma’s Ex part: I don’t want the excuse for whatever happened between them to just be, “Well gosh! He never grew up! Isn’t that just adorably forgivable?” No, it’s a cop-out! 👿 I’m even for Emma’s Ex being her true love, but that’s WAY DOWN THE LINE! Seasons away! I read too much into, “Well if true love was easy, then we’d all have it.”

I was ready to finally admit that MJR is probably going to be Baelfire, Henry’s dad, Emma’s Ex, and Jack upon entering this forum today….but now I’m not sure. I assume Baelfire, Henry’s dad, and Emma’s Ex is going to be a pretty big character and in most, after he’s introduced, episodes. It doesn’t make sense, based on how central I thought Bae would be, that he would be flying back and forth for a season. Is that normal for main cast members? I don’t stalk their twitters. (probably should). Clearly, he is going to be an important character, if he’s flying back and forth.

I find it interesting that he is proud to have not fallen down yet during a scene. His character possibly has some action scenes??? Now, I’m going to the Peter Pan option again and thinking about MJR flying around Storybrooke in green tights!

I kind of like the idea of the Blue Fairy for a traitor…but since she is the leader of the fairies: wouldn’t most follow her? Do think it would be powerful to have a rift between the fairies at some point, especially after the interview revealed that BF is/was training Nova to be the future leader. Can definitely see a divide between the BF’s ‘greater good’ motives and a reformation of these ideas lead by Nova.

‘Turn against their own kind” has me thinking it isn’t just someone from the good side joining/spying for Regina (or another baddie): but turning against their species. Could it be a Dwarf? That doesn’t make sense to me, none of them would turn on Snow!

What would be interesting, IMHO, would be this being about Ariel. We know that both Snow and Emma were absent the first few days of filming (I think I read somewhere about water training?) What if their going to introduce Merpeople early on in the season (as allies or just ‘good’ guys) and Ariel befriends Snow/Emma. Although ‘we had come to believe could be trusted’ first had me thinking it had to be a character from season 1, since the Little Mermaid is a character some of us have known since childhood, won’t we assume she’s going to be a trustworthy friend of the ‘good guys’.

Her motives? Ever since it was revealed how young (and attractive) Hook is going to be, I’ve wondered if he could have another counterpart. Now, I kind of like the idea that he is also Prince Eric…without actually being a prince of course! The actor kind of looks like Eric. My first thought was Ariel turns against her own kind by falling in love and trying to help HOOK in whatever his motives are going to be. To add angst, they’ll work more from the Hans Christian Anderson story: he’ll just not be into her, possibly loves the desperate housewife from the bar, and Ariel will continually sacrifice and sacrifice for his well being: not sure if she’ll become sea foam at some point, but hopefully she’ll get over him in a few seasons….

Another thought, probably the most likely, would be Ariel made a deal with Regina and is now indebted to serve her. That will probably be it, if any of this….

You bring up a good point AntBee, I’m probably just being shallow not wanting him to be Bae. In everything I’ve seen him in, he is a compelling actor that constantly surprises me: plus he could hold his own against Robert. Still feels too cut and dry, like once again their leading us off. Every time they describe someone as ‘dark’ or ‘mysterious’ now, I just want to call their bluff.

If he does tie into Captain Hook’s story, I think he could make an interesting Pirate! Maybe a darker Mr. Smee? Or, again, he could be Beaman.

Michael Raymond-James is joining the show as a recurring

    ‘mysterious new character…’

Please, please don’t be Baelfire…Beaman? Fine, I could easily see him playing that kind of character. But, I really don’t think he looks like Dylan. Thoughts anyone?
