ParticipantI did expect that Hook would be older, a contemporary of Gold
Me too. At least 40s.
Have they hired any non-brunette males yet for next season?

ParticipantBrown hair, stunning blue eyes…and scruffy facial hair? Sounds like we just replaced Eion Bailey. 😆
Excited to see a hot new baddie! With an Irish accent! 😉I think we need to gather all brunette, male cast-members between the ages of 20-30 in town square. Line them up, and have Rumple pick out his son.
And when he chooses a guy with blue eyes again, the real Baelfire can step forward and let his father have it! 😈lilred
Participant1. The character you first fell in love with…
Henry: hands down.2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now…
Rumplestiltskin: never thought I’d be so invested in his happy ending. Things just started to click when we met Gold in Storybrooke and I realized the creeper in the cell was Robert Carlyle!3. The character everyone else loves that you don’t…
Regina? Maybe? As much as Evil Regals’ defend her, there has to be more in the Young Snow chronicles to get me to buy her goals/motivation. Having a love’s heart ripped out by your emotionally abusive mother is harsh, but there has to be more to the story…4. The character you love, but everyone else hates…
Henry? Honestly just read a rant about what a horrible child he is, that he should be grateful to have had Regina raise him (even her buying him a video game was used to illustrate what a good parent she was and what a HORRIBLE CHILD Henry is) Apparently, money buys blind love! Also, read some complaints about Jared being a bad actor…5. The character you used to love, but don’t any longer…
Strangely enough, King Leopold. Maybe not love, but I kind of liked his character for…maybe a second. Wing Wing fan, so seeing Richard Schiff as a king was exciting! And then…he wasn’t a very nice guy. Sure, he wanted everyone within his kingdom to be happy (but Regina). I already admitted to not liking Regina, but I don’t think she deserved being ignored: in the great hall speech scene and when he asked her to marry him (clearly, she wasn’t willing, but mommy was AND HE DIDN’T care). Seems like the character was play-acting the noble king, going on about her beauty and bravery, but really just wanted a female around for when Snow started menstruating……6. The character you would totally smooch…
Archie! Maybe this new character Jack???7. The character you’d want to be like…
I really admire Abigail and Kathryn. At first she seemed like such a spoiled cliché of a princess, but I really admire her devotion to Fredrick and how her counterpart realized her marriage wasn’t working and had the bravery to attempt to start a new in Boston. If she had only been more ‘hands on’ with retrieving the water to awaken him, she’d be my hero!8. The character you’d like to slap…
Jefferson. STOP WORKING WITH REGINA! There’s only so many times a person can double cross you before things click, like wow! Sidney is at least pathetically in love with her. Jefferson knows she’s horrible, hates her, but goes back to work with her again???9. A pairing that you love…
Abigail/Fredrick! (Would the pairing name be ‘Golden Knight???’) Snowing and Rumbelle obviously. And Baelfire/Emma for a non-current-canon hopeful…
10. A pairing that you despise…
I don’t really get Golden Swan, but I’m repealed by Swan Queen! As people have already said: they hate each other and will probably be trying to destroy each other from now on! Regina has killed or attempted to kill Emma’s family! Plus, Regina is technically her step-grandmother.That was fun! Learned a lot about myself and this fandom! 😯

ParticipantAntBee, Out of the Jefferson/August possibilities, at least Jefferson had reason. The audience could at least see why he was driven mad and why he acts out of desperation. Maybe, if he dated Emma, she could get him to stop MAKING DEALS WITH REGINA THAT ARE GOING TO SLAP HIM IN THE FACE.
If there was a focus on August returning to check on his father, I could possibly like him more. Could he have checked up on Emma at some point? Nope, he returns because he is in pain (Never got over him telling Henry that he’s throwing in the towel because he’s dying, instead of this motivating him to be a hero..) He is a character depicting human failings: lying, selfish, pleasure-seeker so maybe I’m being too hard on him?
I like that idea hjbau, of having a relationship just NOT work with no one being villainized or a victim. That’s just what happens sometimes.

ParticipantReally thought Rumple and the Blue Fairy had their memories for most of the first season: knowing now that they didn’t leaves so many questions…How did he manage to track baby-Henry in Phoenix? Why a baby states away when there had to have been available babies in New England? Who brought him to Maine if Rumple couldn’t leave?
I assumed, when I thought he remembered all along, that Rumple had PIs tracking Emma and sending him info. for 28 years: so he knew about Henry and where she was.
I think I read somewhere that we’ll be seeing more of Emma’s past next season, so maybe some of these questions could be answered..Intrigued: what’s the alternative???
PriceofMagic: I’m getting to the point where I’m probably just seeing what I want to see..

ParticipantThat would actually make a lot more sense than just all these HIGHLY important items showing up in one location that Rumple/Gold just happens to own. If Beaman has been dealing with Gold for 28 years, I’m still on him being Hook rather than Baelfire (who wouldn’t be in town to collect them/under the curse). If Beaman is Hook, that could explain why he enters the shop in the promo. After 28 years of visiting to sell to Gold, when he finally gets his memory back he could remember seeing his Hook in Gold’s shop!

ParticipantI agree that it doesn’t quite make sense though if Bae is Henry’s father why Rumple would see Emma and Henry and not know Bae’s is the father. I think he’s just very good at predicting human behavior which makes it seem like he’s psychic.
I do think it’d be cool to have such a powerfully magical man, rumored to see the future – just be very good at reading people.
If he does have some type of power allowing him to see the future, maybe he does know? Maybe he saw Emma/Baelfire having a future pre-curse; could explain part of his obsession/excitement? at learning her name? Since Rumple stated the power of knowing JUST a name before, maybe that helps him excess a person’s future; by knowing their name?My first watch of Price of Gold, I was fascinated by the scene where Henry enters the apartment after Gold hired Emma. Gold’s demeanor, voice, stance changes when Henry enters. At first, I was very confused by this. Then, after Desperate Soul, just assumed he acted that way remembering his son. (A lot of ‘IF’S coming, skip if you’re already annoyed). If Baelfire is Henry father, if Rumple had known about this pre-curse, this would have been the first scene between Henry and Gold after he remembers; also remembering that he had given his only grandchild to be raised by Regina.
I’m not saying I’m completely sold on Rumple having this much awareness, but if they told us so later in the series, I could see it work with this scene and others; there’d be other things the series could do that seem more ‘pulled out of thin air’.
Mother Superior tells August, “I can’t do anything with this body.”
I’ve read this too somewhere, but don’t hear it at all!

ParticipantFood idea: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Try this recipe, but add a dash of nutmeg to get the dough to have more of a pumpkin pie taste.
http://kirbiecravings.com/2011/10/pumpkin-chocolate-chip-cookies-3.htmlBeware one thing, the recipe states that the dough doesn’t spread out after you shape it on the cookie sheet, just rises a bit – NOT MY EXPERIENCE AT ALL. My first attempt has cookies fused together and huge. House smells great, though.

ParticipantI think that by having an outsider arrive in Storybrooke that was untouched by the Curse like JackBae and that she presumably knew before, at least Emma can have one person to go to when she’s stressed about everyone wanting her to be the Savior, or when she’s upset about her situation with her parents…
That’s a good point, AntBee. Being the ‘savior’ could turn into something along the lines of Harry Potter being the ‘chosen one’ – she could be hounded by people’s problems, fanboys, media at all angles. Knowing someone who, although he grew up in EF and is more familiar with fairytale culture than she is, came into adulthood and survived in our world would be comforting. And she can also use him as a source of information on what he remembers about the EF. I see both Emma and Baelfire as people who struggled, but survived and even prefer this world to fairytales. We all know Baelfire won’t be embracing magic when he finally appears, and I don’t see Emma relaying on it heavily (or at least hope she’ll remain fixed on ‘doing it yourself’). I can see them bonding over this…
Even if Baelfire isn’t Henry’s dad, I can see having this understanding of a ‘normal’ life easily connect the two during magic-mania.
I do get a feeling that a love triangle may be on the horizon for Emma, so maybe the other guy (a foil to Bae 😉 ) would relay heavily on magic/fairytale stuff to illustrate this fundamental difference.

ParticipantThey are, though. At least Lancelot is appearing this season as a sword for hire. They may not go into the other story lines this seasons, but if their doing Lancelot- seems like the other’s will appear at some point. If Merlin does appear, maybe he’ll be closer to the Sword in the Stone than the recent television Merlin. There have just been so many adaptions of King Arthur: the idea is starting to feel exhausted and I even liked the Legends growing up.
