Can’t wait to see this dynamic next season! Possibly more than Emma and Snow, since Emma already has a family-like dynamic with Mary Margaret. My first thought was Emma being irritated, but then it’s not like she’s ever had a positive male role model who’s protective of her before. She might try to pass it off with a shrug at first, but I can kind of see her as a daddy’s girl (within reason for someone who’s almost 30: no begging for a pony, etc.).
The pictures from the set seem to have a lot of Henry and Charming going on. Because of this, and how Charming was so adamant in the first episode that Emma was a boy (Rumpe's first scene), I'm kind of worried about a rift occurring between Charming and Emma, that pre-curse Charming had been dreaming of a son and will be living out everything he wanted to do with a son with Henry. If this happens, I can see Emma feeling very bitter: like she is being replaced as a parent and a child.
[adrotate group="5"]I’m really starting to second guess the Baelfire situation. Since ‘the Return’, I had assumed that Bae would come back as an adult (ranged around 30s-early 40s, August’s age) but now, I’m wondering if the twist will be Dylan returning to reprise the role or an elderly man being Bae (or Bae being dead). If Bae is still a child, the stakes seem lesser. He’ll be mad at his papa, but it won’t be like it’s festered for years. Rumple can then raise his son (with his true love) and really won’t have to redeem himself from the curse or pay a price (except waiting for centuries and all..)
If he’s now older than his father, lived the majority of his life: I can’t see them reconnecting at all. For Baelfire it would probably be obsolete to have a father in his life at that point and Rumple won’t have his ‘boy’…that might be an even sadder conclusion to the Rumple/Baelfire storyline than Bae’s death: if Bae was alive, elderly, and neither had a place for the other in their world… 😥I guess I liked the idea of Bae being 30-something because both he and Rumple would have to get over bitterness and resentment, and reestablish their relationship from what they knew in Fairytale Land. It could even mirror the point where parents and their adult children have to reshape their relationship when their 20-something/coming home from college.
Add that Baelfire might be having to learn to be a father for the first time, possibly remembering how his father treated him before he became the dark one, and we have a storyline filed with family angst: but still hope. And isn’t hope the point of the show! 😉

😥Scratch my last post: our fandom creators/casting were just trolling us…at this rate, fans and Rumple are going to go insane over the amount of brown haired, brown eyed men that could be Bae running around Storybrooke. Which is probably why he’ll pop up as a ginger and we’ll all be confused!
It’s creepy how good ONCE casting can be. They manage to find great actors, but also pick up on heredity and family/older-younger character resemblance.. except with August…

Come on show: you can’t just hire men with brown hair and brown eyes for everything this season just to send us into Baelfire Mania! It would get confusing at the very least! 😆
I actually wouldn’t mind her being Baelfire’s mom. Had expected a brave person (to explain Bae characteristics) but if she was just a bored housewife, at least we already know there’s no love lost on Rumple’s end: he found his true love!
Since Bae had no memory of his mother (only that his papa claimed her dead), the mom abandoning them both kind of just enhances the relationship Baelfire and Rumple has/had: Bae is/was such a good child because of his father devotion and love. If they were everything to each other in those 14 years, maybe reconnecting is STILL possible? After a lot of screaming to start!
When I saw the Beanstalk rising as a new opening sequence, I immediately thought it would be the theme for Baelfire. When I read the name JACK for casting, I screamed in excitement! I am so for this idea! For a peasant child, modern America could be viewed as a land for 'giants'. Also, what could a peasant do to survive in our world? Steal! They might even justify it since our world has so much. Since Jack wasn't just a thief, but also a murderer – I do worry about what Baelfire got into here. Maybe he's on the run from something in this world as well. If he keeps changing his name, changing locations: might be difficult for papa to find him…
I also bring to the forum Julian Morris for discussion: could he be Baelfire? Or someone else next season?

Although I don’t agree with some of his decisions (kidnapping, trusting Regina when YOU KNOW SHE IS EVIL: TWICE!) I was kind of worried we wouldn’t get a reunion between Jefferson and Grace – that the two would just pop up a few episodes in and we wouldn’t see the moment she sees him and remembers. While this is still possible, I’m now hoping for the reunion scene even more!
