ParticipantPeter was some type of realm jumper: he did travel to our world from Neverland for Wendy’s stories. I’m not sure how they’ll explain it: magical hat again???, but he is capable. Maybe there’s a whole society of magical hat carriers who can realm jump?
I could live with an adult Peter Pan being Henry’s father and Baelfire being Emma’s true love. Then I wouldn’t have this hang-up with the message that someone you’ve slept with as a teenage, got pregnant by, chosen to rid from your life, HAS TO BE YOUR ONE TRUE LOVE.

I’m still hung up on Emma’s mention of pumpkin pie in the story about him, (and then they had Henry bring her a piece of pumpkin pie too, so it wasn’t just a throw away line), and how it could relate to Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater. And there’d be a certain delightful irony if Peter Pan, the boy who couldn’t grow up, (until he stayed in our world one day and began to age), fathered a child who became the only boy in Storybrooke who did grow up.
In the Price of Gold, Emma also suggests the nickname of ‘PUMPKIN’. Pumpkin being used so often, does make me feel like it is significant: between Emma and whoever the dad is…
Is it weird to admit the pumpkin stuff started me on Henry’s dad being from FL? 😆
If anyone’s seen ‘HOOK’ with Robin Williams, I guess something along those lines could have happened: resulting in Peter Pan being a dad. I think I’d prefer a Neverland-storyline centered around Henry more than an adult Peter Pan being a jaded jerk again. I just don’t want to see Baelfire being a child still. It’s such a cop-out to allow Rumple to pick-up where he left off and, after he makes it up to the kid, he get’s to raise his son and have his true love: where’s the lost time or sacrifice?

ParticipantIf Baelfire turns up a ginger: Gepetto and Rumple can just have a son-swap! 😆
Henry needs to roll his sleeves up like grandpa Charming!

Participant* instead of using ‘red herring’ to describe the ‘Henry’s daddy mystery’, MacGuffin would probably be the better term.

ParticipantSince Henry knows who August is, hopefully he will direct Gepetto to the Inn…I can’t see Gepetto being that conniving after ‘waking up’. Maybe it just hasn’t clicked that he’s missed 28 years of his son’s life yet…
One screen shot was a close-up of the Heritage Center Seal: which they are standing outside of. Could this be a center for Fairytale characters to meet up with their loved ones? Possibly why Gepetto is there with flyers? Whale could be waiting for someone then…lilred
ParticipantFor a moment there, the spoilers had me wondering if Baelfire would be Peter Pan (a theory that seems like even more of a cop-out to the Rumple storyline – but I digress).
Now, I’m catching up in the interviews and back to Swanfire.
@A Chipped Cup wrote:I actually really the idea of Baelfire being Henry’s father. To me, the inspiration for the curse meeting and falling in love with the person who was destined to break the curse makes total sense. They’re both intimately conencted the curse, they’re both from Fairytale land, they’re both parentless, and they both probably ended up in foster care. They already have a ton in common. The groundwork is already there.
This, all of it! There is a nice symmetry going on if this happens. Plus, when asked if they liked updating and modernizing fairytales, they answered something along the lines that the REAL fun is layering and intertwining the different stories. How is Baelfire, at this moment in time, tied to any other character but Rumple? He’s not, which seems strange since in an interview after the final episode aired the creators stated that although Baelfire would not appear in the last episode, his absence would be felt. They also stated that Bae was the missing puzzle piece for the story. By linking him with Emma, the key players are all going to be invested in Henry’s future: the level of dysfunction may cause Henry to lose it, but he can now always runaway and become a pirate with Hook. 😈
It does seem to be a bit predictable, but I’m starting to wonder if the Henry’s dad mystery was setting up a red herring over the summer for fans to theorize about while missing the BIGGER picture. Even in interviews, they seem to try to turn it back to ‘Henry’s dad’ and Baelfire, like when asked about Emma’s foster family. Could this not be a big, drawn out mystery? Like breaking the curse, will it just happen early on – and while everyone still has to deal with the outcome, there will be bigger issues (other twists) to dominate the season? If Baelfire returns, is the dad, sure a lot of characters will be effected by this development and have to work on new relationships, but A FINAL BATTLE IS ALSO STARTING! Family drama is going to happen next season, one way or another, but will probably be placed on the back burner for war..
ANTBEE told me that they described season 2 as being about discovery and I myself was quick to latch on to discovering Henry’s dad/Baelfire’s backstory…but we also have doors to other realms and a new kind of magic next season…

ParticipantHe’s probably still looking for a ginger kid, too. Is that why nothing with August knowing how to fix a clock clicked when memories returned?

ParticipantWOW! Very pleased to see no CGI cricket now that ‘magic’s back’!
This has me crying a bit: poor Gepetto! 😥 Things seem to be going in the direction that August is still a wooden: would Gepetto’s kiss save him? There seem to be a couple shots of ‘play fighting’ between Whale and Henry: just the actors playing around??? Jared’s clutching the prop book in most of them…

ParticipantJennifer knew that far back? I really need to keep up with things…
