StahlopParticipant
So is Jack actually Hansel. I mean that would make some sense. Gretel said that he was traumatized both physically and emotionally and he uses candy to send his death card. Maybe he is seeking revenge on the witches for killing his sister who was trying to join them. The other question is how did Gothel know that Ivy would be the next victim. Did she find that box of candy on her doorstep or something? That scene did not make much sense.
I’m assuming he is. We came up with the fact that Hansel and Jack both come from the name John, so it makes sense.
Gothel found the bag with the candy in the lobby when she came up to see Ivy. That’s how she knew she was going to be next.
[adrotate group="5"]StahlopParticipantAnd Jack is a nickname for John, so that makes me suspect Hansel and Jack are one in the same.
Yeah I think that’s where this is headed. And it explains why the episode following is called “Breadcrumbs” which we all thought had a Hansel/Gretel feel to it but couldn’t explain why they would be inserted into a story in which they hadn’t actually been introduced thus far. Turns out, Jack is really Hansel. I guess…that’s one way to go. I would have preferred @gualtheria’s theory that Regina was being voodoo’d into doing it by Samdi but I guess it saves us a Henry/Ella/Jack triangle??
It also explains the first two victims. Assuming Jack is awake, he killed Dr. Sage because she knew Henry was Lucy’s father, and he killed the Blind witch because she tried to kill himself and Gretel back in the day. Maybe he dated Drizella at some point and that’s why she gets attacked this week.
StahlopParticipantThe etymology of “Hansel” and “Jack” is interesting.
According to Behind the Name, Hansel is a diminutive if Hans, which in itself is a shortened form of Johannes, which is derived from John. And Jack is a nickname for John, so that makes me suspect Hansel and Jack are one in the same.
I’m assuming they are calling them the Candy Killer because they send the marzipan hearts to each victim.
StahlopParticipantYes. We know this because A. Baelfire was still Henry’s father (even though his name shouldn’t technically be Henry, since Regina never adopted him), and B. Nook was already an old man, when Emma and Regina first met him, but he was young, when he had Alice.
Yet all that happened once the wish was made so everything before it would be false memories. That is the problem. The whole thing did not exist until it was wished. So it started as Nook being old, fat, and drunk. It started when Henry was a young adult. This is why none of this makes any sense. To make sense you have to assume that the wish realm was always there and then if Nook was in Neverland why didn’t real Hook ever see him, why wasn’t there any confusion from the other characters that there were two Hooks hanging around. This why the whole Wish Realm thing should have never been brought back up.
He was in Wish!Neverland. EF2 has a different rate of passage of time. Again, I bring up my Dark Realm theory.
Since the writers decided to make the Wish Realm a real realm, as opposed to only coming into existence when the wish was made last season, it would seem to be an alternate universe realm instead of a newly created one. So yes, there would be a Wish Neverland and everything.
StahlopParticipantHow do Alice wishes work exactly? When the Bug appeared, was it transported there from Storybrooke or was it a new copy? So does Emma still have her Bug in Storybrooke or not?
I don’t think it was Emma’s bug. I think she just remembered the picture Robyn showed her and wished her own version into existence.
StahlopParticipantSo are we just gonna ignore the killer is basically a rip off of the happy death day killer
I was going to say the killer from Valentine.
StahlopParticipantI assumed it was inherited through Gothel. I don’t see what realm Nook is from or has been to would make a difference. But her mother is a powerful witch so it would make sense that Alice would be too.
March 23, 2018 at 11:30 pm in reply to: 7×14 "The Girl in the Tower" Favorite/Least Favorite Moments #346200StahlopParticipantI really liked this episode. So that’s two in a row.
Liked:
Younger Alice when she got out of the tower. Loved that she was wearing a typical Alice in Wonderland outfit and having a tea party!
So Alice can wish for things and they appear or happen. Did that only start on that specific birthday (I want to say it’s her 18th, but I’m not 100% sure)? Also, I’m assuming the magic comes from Gothel being her mother.
And speaking of magic, does anyone else think a Gothel is framing Alice? I assumed that the reason no one knew Tilly was because Eloise made them forget somehow.
Tilly about to start reading Robin Hood in Henry’s apartment.
Just excellent acting from Rose Reynolds all around!
Mixed:
I’m liking Robin and Alice together, but I’m just not a fan of the actress playing Robin. Her acting just takes me out of the moment, especially with how well Rose Reynolds is as Alice. They still have great chemistry though.
Loved the Rogers/Tilly bonding, but I find it odd Weaver wasn’t helping out. And even weirder that Rogers asked, Henry to help him find out where Tilly was when he isn’t law enforcement. Keeping Tilly at Henry’s place, okay, I’ll buy that. Having a civilian help out in his investigation doesn’t make any sense. But I guess they had to get him involved somehow.
Disliked:
What the hell was Regina thinking sending Lucy into Samdi’s apartment?
Why did the troll turn into the troll bridge troll from Seattle and why did it come over in the curse?
StahlopParticipantRegina’s walk of shame. Really?
Regina had already been acting uncharacteristically smitten with Facilier, as if he had some magical influence over her judgement. Facilier is handsome and charming, but Regina is usually the queen of staying focused. Now Regina thinks she spent the night at Facilier’s. I wonder if that’s a false memory, implanted as a cover for some evil action. Did any coven members die around that time? Perhaps a body will turn up next episode. I think the mysterious hand at the doctor’s murder will be revealed as Regina’s, operating under Facilier’s full voodoo control.
That would definitely make things interesting.
StahlopParticipantAs a matter of fact I’m just gonna be honest, can all of this somehow be undone by the end of the series like it was all a dream because while Andrew did good, I’d much prefer the series to end with Jared Gilmore as Henry….so I can just pretend Season 7 didn’t even happen, LOL!!! But hey, that’s just me.
This season has given me quite the feeling of fan fiction. What if what we are seeing is actually Henry’s first attempt at writing a story as the author and we are just seeing it played out. I know he’s technically supposed to record the stories, but is it possible he went the way of Isaac and rewrote people?
