Henry told Gold he wanted the present for MM to be something special and he ended up giving her a BELL. Coincidence? I think not! So now we know that Rumpel had to resist Bell’s love because he needed his power to find his son. The man is torn between two loves 🙁

She has to live!!! Her character has the potential to play vital roles in the future!I do agree that the writers would be smart to maintain Mr. Gold’s mystique. Next to August, he’s the biggest mystery on the show.
Rumpel’s mystery definitely draws you towards his character. That and his extremely hot accent 😉

I completely agree. So do you think this means he will end up with Belle, but also die (like in the original Rumple story)!? I am hoping the writers give us a happy ending because they do always tweak stories. 😉

Since Rumpel takes on two different personas (Beast and Rumpel) I wonder which story line the writers are going to follow when it comes down to the end of the series. This is how the two original grim stories end….
Rumpel = Rumpelstiltskin “in his rage drove his right foot so far into the ground that it sank in up to his waist; then in a passion he seized the left foot with both hands and tore himself in two.” Other versions have Rumpelstiltskin driving his right foot so far into the ground that he creates a chasm and falls into it, never to be seen again. In the oral version originally collected by the brothers Grimm, Rumpelstiltskin flies out of the window on a cooking ladle.
Beast = His curse is broken by Belle’s true love kiss and they live happily ever after.
Rumpels story is quite gruesome…I hope that doesn’t happen! I know the writers always tweak stories, but it seems like they take a similar path. Maybe it will be a mixture of both?
