Midnight Dreary, you gave me an idea! When Cinderella asked Rumpel if he ever used a wand before he answered “of course I do” with plenty of confidence. Maybe he said this arrogantly because he is all powerful, so thus of course he would know how to use it, but what if he said it because he used a wand before. Maybe there was a fight between the fairies and Rumpel over his son running away to Neverland?

Well she did kill her father, but by then her soul was already tainted. Killing her mother is an interesting theory. The queen has truly reached a dark point of no return. I’m sure the writers will not disappoint if they ever explain why!
End result is it looks like he predicted it when in fact he just engineered the whole situation.
I like this idea a lot Phee, but it still does not explain how Rumpel could have known the exact day Emma would return on her 28th birthday.
