What are examples of previous times when they did mislead us? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
Depends on how sharp you are. Me, not so much. I totally missed the Sheriff as the Huntsman until that episode, Red as the wolf until about 10 seconds before the reveal. Meaning I didn’t notice anything in the previous episodes.
[adrotate group="5"]lorem ipsumParticipantI re-watched the episode where Rumple becomes the dark one and Bael doesn’t leave to fight the ogre wars. It ends with Rumple asking his son if he is afraid and Bael answering yes. From the pics posted for this upcoming episode, Rumple and Bael are together so Bael is still around in FTL (at this point). And Rumple has the dagger so no one can control him. I too agree with other posters that the dagger is what Rumple buried in the woods and I think August finds it. Who besides Bae would know what that dagger is and its purpose? I think the true love potion that Rumple made out of Snow and Charming’s hair is part of the curse. The part that breaks it. The hairs joined together when he made the potion and together they had a child, the savior. But there is definitely a backdoor in that curse for Rumple and for Bae I believe.
lorem ipsumParticipantDefinitely love the character development and the character heavy show. I prefer books that are more about character than plot and that’s what this show reminds me of. A great fantasy read come to life. Those “filler” episodes are important, not just for character development, but for the little things they might reveal. Like in “Dreamy” when Mr. Gold says he hates the nuns e.g. fairies. And the first thing that came to my mind was, WHY????
lorem ipsumParticipantPilot:
Archie: Henry, what did I tell you about lying? Giving in to one’s dark side never accomplishes anything.
Jiminy Cricket to Charming: Fighting is a bad idea. Giving in to one’s dark side never accomplishes anything.lorem ipsumParticipant@darcyfarrow wrote:
After viewing the promo for “The Return” I’m convinced Lissy is right: August is Bae. He’s the only one, I think, who could strike such fear in Gold: if anyone else threatened him, Gold would fight back, but he wouldn’t fight Bae…who, Gold may think, would kill him to free him from the curse.
So I’ll agree that August is Bae AND the librarian…who, having learned the truth from the book, nobly tried to fight Regina and was driven out of town, to return now that the savior has come.
Would explain why the library is boarded up. Regina did that after the discovery of the book though from the pilot she doesn’t seem to be aware that the book exists. But wouldn’t Mr. Gold/Rumple know that August is Bae since he remembers everything even if Bae didn’t remember? And if Regina drove August out of town, wouldn’t she have recognized him? I have noticed that Gold and August haven’t been in any scenes together or in near vicinity so it is possible that they just haven’t crossed each other’s paths. Meaning Mr. Gold doesn’t know Bae is in town. But I don’t think Regina knows who he is, yet. Would love to know what Gold meant from the last episode (Stable Boy) “we all know what happens when someone leaves Storybrooke”.
lorem ipsumParticipantOk, I just thought of something else! Sorry, I know I’m rambling. Just trying to get my thoughts in order or hope someone can help me make sense of them!
In the Pilot, The Blue Fairy shows up with a magic tree that can be made into a wardrobe to save one person from the curse. Gepetto says he and his boy will make it. It is decided Snow will go through w/ baby in utero.
This episode, The Return, lists the Blue Fairy in the cast list. It is about Rumple and Bae in FTL.
In the Disney movie of Peter Pan, Peter Pan’s secret hideout is a tree, right?
Could it be the same tree?
Did the Blue Fairy take Bae through the tree to Neverland resulting in Rumple hating fairies and remarking that he “lost” his son?
lorem ipsumParticipantOk, what have we got for August:
Pinocchio: Yes because of the hints dropped – shin splint, does not lie – (but Pinocchio does lie), saved by Gepetto since Gepetto made the wardrobe. Only way that’s possible, IMO, is if Pinocchio became part of the wardrobe otherwise Emma wouldn’t have been able to go through.
Bae: Can’t be because the timing doesn’t work unless he is saved either by Rumple or the Blue Fairy.
August knows too much re the curse and FTL not to be a major player. Yet he was able to arrive in Storybrooke. Which means he was able to leave or was never there to begin with until the day he showed up. If he was able to leave, he was unaffected by the curse (or there is a loophole we don’t know about yet). If he was never in SB to begin with, but is part of FTL, how did he escape the curse? Is he from one of the other worlds/realms that Jefferson mentions to Emma? If he is Peter Pan, he could have escaped the curse because he was visiting Wendy and et al at the time the curse was enacted but how would he know what he knows? I have the same question if he is a character from Oz. If they hadn’t shown Prince Thomas from FTL as Sean in SB I would venture to guess August is the missing Prince Thomas.
August as Pinocchio explains how he knows about the curse and Emma as the savior. Still doesn’t explain to me how he escaped the curse nor how Gepetto could possibly have helped him.
August as Rumple’s son can be explained how he escapes the curse (a little Rumple magic) but if Bael escapes FTL way before the curse how does he know what he knows?
So which character knows about the curse, knows about the savior and had a way to escape the curse without jeopardizing Emma’s escape?
lorem ipsumParticipantSo each time they want to use Peter Pan they have to get permission. Is that correct? Disney has already used Peter Pan which, if I understand correctly, does not extend to today. Do I have this right?
lorem ipsumParticipantThank you Lissy!
lorem ipsumParticipantMaybe those were the pages August added: Rumple’s story. I just re watched “Desperate Souls” and Gold reminds Emma that she still owes him that favor and now that she’s sheriff she just might be able to pay him back. My guess he’s going to ask something illegal or unethical.
