LOST LOVERParticipant
He’s a coward, afraid to be powerless because he’s experienced it and how it can take away everything he loves. Every time he chose power over those he loved, he repented and was pretty severely punished. And every time he’s done it, it was because he was afraid–afraid of being unable to protect himself and losing his son/Belle, afraid of something worse happening. It’s not power that drives Rumplestiltskin. It’s fear. Power is what he believes will stop the fear. He’s wrong, and we as the audience recognize that, but the core motivation for just about everything Rumple has done is fear. And his greatest fear is that he is unloveable.
Exactly! And every time he chose power he was already the dark one (except for the first time). How much darkness did rumples heart have before he became the dark one? I’m guessing not much … If any.
[adrotate group="5"]LOST LOVERParticipantIn my brain I made sense of it like this ..the author cannot change the past so instead he writes a new memory of the past … Which is the AU and it played more like a dream/ nightmare depending on the characters pov then an actual memory. You wake from a dream and remember it even though it never happened. The AU never happened excpt how it effected isaacs real life in the sense that he gets to be a best seller in our world. (Not sure why but it was the only present day part of the AU we saw). We never got to see how this dream / memory would give the villians their happy ending. Perhaps they would have been trapped in it like an eternal sleep? . Henry was able to wake everyone from this AU/dream/memory because he went in with the author and then became the author. Mostly I think that the entire AU was just a vehicle for getting to watch evil snow and knight rumple. Like they were sitting in the writers room going …”ooh that would be fun to write.”

Which of course means Neal and also that hook taught Neal …so I actually thought it was a super sweet moment that was honoring both hook and Henry’s memories of Neal.
He says, I had a really good teacher: you (meaning Hook)
Thanks. I missed the “you” part …

LOST LOVERParticipantI thought Merlin too. Also I am wondering if lily will get in touch with her light potential now that Emma will be embracing her darkness …

Ya, that never happened. It was Neal who taught Henry how to sail that ship, back in S2x16, The Miller’s Daughter.

On another note, I thought for sure that when Rumple chipped the cup it would trigger Belles real memories. Didn’t Rumple put a spell on it?
I rearly enjoyed the episode. I don’t think rumple has been redeemed. He will go back to a powerless coward if he lives. Hardly what he would consider a happy ending. Loved Regina and Henry. Evil snow was fun. I can always do without Zelina. I honestly cannot stand her character. I loved that Emma sacrificed her self to save Regina. Their friendship is one of the things I enjoyed most this season. I hated the lily daddy dragon moment. Too weird. Loved evil dwarfs and granny. The scene with the apprentice and Henry almost felt almost like a series finally and I wonder if they played that card too soon. Henry becoming the author feels like closure in some ways but now it kind of just feels like a plot device to resolve heroes and villains book. I guess it will depend on if the fact that he is the new author ever becomes relevant in future episodes. I am really looking forward to seeing how this plays out next season.
LOST LOVERParticipantNot sure if this was mentioned … I have not read all 11 pages of postings but the heart of truest believer could refer to Henry and also maybe pan in a back story ( or is it too soon to see a backstory of a new character). Or maybe pan wants to trade Henry’s heart for rumples? I think our newest lost boy will definitely turn out to be pan since the breakdown describes pan perfectly and they don’t need 2 characters with the same personality. Okay … So those are my random thoughts for the moment. 2 months left to go … I am not sure i can take it!
