VanessaParticipant
Tried to post some pictures but didn’t work. I guess I’ll try again later.
[adrotate group="5"]VanessaParticipantHi! I haven’t posted in quite a while. After reading all the drama with Hook and the barmaid, I thought of this scene from the movie The Wedding Date
VanessaParticipantI really enjoyed last nights episode! How nice to see Red/Ruby at the beginning with everyone else! There must be a reason she was included.
Loved the Charming and Hook conversation. I liked the little smile Charming had when Hook galloped away.
I completely understand why he left. The Jolly Roger was his home and he wanted to see if it was out there. It’s like the way people return home after natural disasters. They just want to see what is left. I don’t see why some criticize Hook for this…whatever. But most importantly, he wants to find a way back to Emma too.I liked all the CaptainSwan moments. My favorite was when they were drinking in Emma’s apartment. The look on Hook’s face when Emma left to talk to Walsh was just heartbreaking! Felt so bad for him.
I do have more questions now, even more important (to me) than how Hook found Emma and Henry? What happened after Emma’s fight with the flying monkey? Where did Hook sleep – in Central Park, Neal’s apartment, where? Oh well, I guess we’ll find out later, hopefully.
So Belle and Neal are teaming up to find Rumple. Is it forbidden to ship Neal and Belle? I know how sensitive some are around here. They could be Bellefire or Beal or Nelle. Just saying…
VanessaParticipantHi everyone! Haven’t posted in a while I even forgot my username/password! LOL
Just watched the the Wicked Is Coming special. My favorite part was when Emma was described as a character looking for home but since she never had one she doesn’t know what it is.
Can’t wait for the new episode tonight. I will be watching with hubby. He likes to watch spoiler-free so I haven’t told him ANYTHING! He is more of a casual viewer but it will be fun to see his reactions.
VanessaParticipantEmma is holding a picture of Henry in her right hand also. I zoomed into the picture and turned my phone 45 degrees counter clockwise.
VanessaParticipantI read this on tumblr and thought I would post it here.
Captain Swanservation: The Echo Caves
So something struck me as I was rewatching Ariel (WHICH I WAS DOING FOR REASONS OK).
Hook gives Emma his confession in the Echo Cave:
“It’s what the kiss exposed. I never thought that I’d be capable of letting go of my first love, of my Milah. That is, until I met you.”
And Emma absorbs this. Accepts it even.
Then when it’s her turn to confess, homegirl literally goes and LETS GO OF HER FIRST LOVE.
(*cough*You jump, I Jump, Jack*cough*)
Because no matter what the haters say, that is exactly what Emma did in that scene. By confessing that she loved Neal and probably always would, but had hoped he was dead, she is telling him she won’t go back. She can’t. That’s she’s moving on, much like he did with Tamara. She even reinforces this outside the caves, saying she wished she could change the way she felt, but she just can’t. She’s letting him as her first love go.
After that, you notice the “love triangle” from her POV is officially dead. She is only ever platonic with Neal. She doesn’t go on the date with him. Their goodbye at the town line is familial at best. She is carefully neutral every time they talk, as to not encourage his romantic affections, because we all know Emma does not give false hope.
Yet after the Echo Caves, she does go on to give hope to another certain someone.
Someone who had been surprising her and supporting her and challenging her and making her smile and kissing her senseless and pouring his heart out to her. Someone who let go of his first love for her. Someone that I suspect helped her finally let go of her first love as well.
I just can’t see this as coincidence. That both Emma and Hook had very significant first loves before they found each other. And that both of those first loves ended badly, altering them forever. They both took years to move on, building ridiculously high walls against love. But then they met each other, and immediately were able to ferret out the cracks in each other’s walls. To connect in a frighteningly intimate way quite quickly, because they were such kindred spirits emotionally. They recognized the rawest part of themselves mirrored in the other, saw that here was someone who got it when so many people don’t.
And that’s why there’s no question in my mind that these two are destined. Because a connection like this is rare and precious. The show went through a lot of trouble to canonically establish it. Because it gives their love a strong root, a root that is anchored in the deepest parts of their characters, born from their deepest insecurities and fears, but growing into something strong and beautiful, something that heals them both and makes them into better people.
VanessaParticipantWhat if Hook dies and then Emma wakes him up with True Loves Kiss? All those that want Hook dead would get their wish, sort of. Just wondering…Also, if Hook dies that doesn’t mean she is going to reunite with Neal.
VanessaParticipantWow! So much on the impending death. That other thread is getting pretty tense with all those hoping for Hook’s death. I’m not surprised that someone is being killed off. I figured it was going to happen soon or later. I have no idea why writers like to do this. Can’t they be more creative?
]Another thing we will probably see before the series ends is Emma tempted to turn evil or seek revenge. We’ve seen Snow do bad things and of course we know why Hook, Regina and Rumple went bad. It just seems like Emma needs to be faced with the same situation. Something extremely traumatic/catastrophic has to happen for Emma to even consider going bad. Henry’s death would be the event that breaks her. Henry’s death would affect many characters besides Emma – Neal, Rumple, Regina, Snow and Charming. Also, Emma has spent most of the series being the savior/hero. I think somewhere in this story Emma is going to have to be saved. How ironic would it be if Regina and Rumple have to work with the Charmings and Hook to save Emma?
I thought I would throw that out there. I think I saw maybe two others mention the same thing. I guess we will have to wait.
VanessaParticipantVanessa wrote: Has this been mentioned before? I put it as a spoiler to be on the safe side. I can see everyone in the Enchanted Forest debating who should find Emma and Henry. Maybe Charming decides that Hook should go because Hook saved Charming’s life in Neverland. Basically, Charming owes his mate a favor. I like it! I think a duel between Neal and Hook to decide who goes after Emma would be fun to watch. I don’t condone violence but this is a fairytale/fantasy show afterall.
No spoilers here, just speculation I too can see a possible discussion about who will be going to find Emma and Henry – however i don’t expect it to last long, since A&E themselves have just said it’s not the “why” it’s the “how and when”. I think the jail thing is going to come up. Neal will be pretty passive in this convo, i think. Killian will be the active participant, pushing for them to go after Emma. That’s my theory/headcanon right now lol. I also think Charming and Killian will speak about TL – Killian get’s the idea to kiss her from SOMEWHERE. I think that Neal and Killian will have a conversation that will lead to Neal telling Killian about his apartment, the dreamcatcher etc. The dreamcatcher will plant the seeds in Emma’s mind that what Killian is saying is the truth NO DUEL lol, so far, Neal has been a VERY PASSIVE PARTICIPANT in trying to win back Emma, i don’t expect that to change, honestly!
I like the dreamcatcher point. But how can Neal still have an apartment if he hasn’t been in NYC for a year? Did he live with Tamara?
I love OUAT in Wonderland and this is probably a pretty pathetic idea but….I would love it if Hook found Alice’s White Rabbit and the rabbit dug a hole that leads to New York. I would enjoy seeing some sort of crossover between the two shows.
VanessaParticipantAlso, Hook has no family. If he dies on his quest to find Emma and Henry then it doesn’t really affect anyone else. For example, if Neal goes and dies then Henry loses his father and Rumple loses a son. Charming goes and fails then Snow loses her husband, Emma loses her father and Henry loses a grandfather. So it makes sense for Hook to go because he really doesn’t have any family ties – that we know of.
