Lots of holiday action in the States, also winter setting in and causing some chaotic days in some places, a break in the ONCE action, a bit of weariness with the same, incessantly unappealing approaches of some postings, and general mid season blues would all lead to some slowdowns.
The cyclical nature of message boards everywhere
You wear out for a bit, then re-energize.I think also, specifically relating to our beloved couple, small steps are wonderful and often heart satisfying but a big “reveal” and advancement in their air time is next to impossible with the sheer amount of storytelling that is taking place in the time they have. We are, as seen above, collecting some lovely visual moments . (Thank-you!) But after awhile you hunger for a meal not a snack ( grin) and fantasy can be greedy.
In the interim, we go into a quieter mode to keep ourselves attached to our individual realities!
All the story lines suffer when there is just too much happening. And there IS just too much happening!! There is no answer or remedy either, without some faction of the massive fandom being verbosely angry. TV combined with the Internet media frenzies creates an overload, at times, of obsessive speculation, rampant opinion and for the creators of all these shows, big headaches. The process of “Entertainment” is never calm.
It will all be back to normal chatting business, soon!
To everyone in the States, may you be able to be thankful for whatever brings you joy in your life as Thanksgiving approaches. To the rest of the globe… Hug yourself, breathe and be at peace!

I agree with all said above and with that said, wish OUAT would wrap things up and produce a new series featuring the Charmings, Killian, Emma, Henry, Regina (Henry’s other Mom), and if applicable, Robin and Roland (assuming a corrected timeline regarding Marian); all focused on that family unit, and thier adventures. No parades of character gimmicks (fun, as Frozen was) taking focus and development away from the core cast. Given it’s popularity, I don’t believe anyone can credibly argue against a program focused on Hook and Emma (and the family surrounding them) would be appealing to a large audience. I would love to see Colin O’Donoghue take that role again if this were to happen, but if he didn’t take it, then doesn’t the character belong to ABC? As such, I’d see no problem recasting a dashing and charismatic replacement, one of which I am sure is out there to suffice.
I don’t know what is in store for Once’s story for the remainder of the series, but where Captain Swan is concerned, not taking full advantage of that potential brings Phil Collins’ song “Throwing it All Away” to my mind. Why “pave paradise to put up a parking lot”? If the story can be altered to allow it (if needed), I hope this will not be missed. That would be a terrible shame, and a huge disappointment for people like me.

This may upset some folks. It’s not meant to do that, to be rude, or even to be ungracious, but I will not be ashamed of my opinion. Rumple is so predictable at this point, I am truly bored by him, and I am frustrated by so many guest character arcs distracting from main character and story development. If I were a cast member of this show, I think that would really bring me to question whether I wanted to be a part of it, as it seems it’d be having a contract with such restricted professional development. I am not concerned about, whether appreciating whatever the show’s writers do, makes me a “real fan” of the show. I am a “real viewer”, and I’m the one, whose emotions bear the consequences from what I allow into my life from the tv set in my living room. I am a Colin O’Donoghue fan, I watch for Captain Hook, and disappointments like so much saturation of guest characters, such as was the case in today’s release of promo pictures and spoilers, are things why if nothing changes in Once Upon A Time to give me what I want to see, I will eh…”Let it Go” (pun intended).

This is a great picture, but how do we know this is from today, and wasn’t “taken out of moth balls” for Jen’s “101 Smiles” project in twitter? She never said it’s from today and I can’t find anything where anybody saw Colin filming, so I’m just wondering.
I read in twitter that apparently, Colin’s not in a few mid-season episodes, and that has some people scared (that he may not be in #11). Now this wasn’t for certain, it’s just somebody repeating what somebody else supposedly told them, but that information is what prompts me to ask about when this picture was taken, before Colin’s fans get too excited. I just don’t want anybody set up for disappointment.

I miss getting more news about my favorite pirate. Nothing, here lately. I wish so badly, that Adam would say in one way or another, something that might give me some encouragement. I agree with you on both points too- I’m not sure what to think… but I have got a darn good giggle out of the whole concept if nothing else at this point, I mean is there really anything else we can do other than go “ohhhhhhhhhh Kaaaaaaaaay” & LOAO I get on the holy crabby patties batman- the CS thread is active again! …. I actually went ‘OMG, there must have been a sneak peek,’ when I woke up to 2 additional pages lol 
I know, right?! It’s just so dumb if that’s actually what happens! In addition to the fact that he wasn’t evil when he had the hand, there’s also the issue that if the rest of him is “redeemed”, shouldn’t he just be able to hang on to the hand for a while and control it until it gets with the program and redeems itself as well? (Haha, that sounds so ridiculous!) I’m sorry, I just can’t handle (pun intended) that idea because (a) it’s ridiculous; (b) he had the hook for his worst actions; and (c) even if that were the case, there’s no reason why it should be permanent if the rest of his body successfully redeemed itself…that just sounds so ludicrous! I was actually looking forward to all of the drama from Rumple having cursed his hand, but for the hand itself to somehow be evil? No way to take that seriously!

I mean it’s an absolutely ridiculous concept right off the bat for the reasons you’ve pointed out…. but I mean, seriously…. body parts have minds of their own… bahahahahahahahahaha I actually have this mental image of Killy’s hand jumping out of the jar & fleeing across the room “Thing” like lolThe hand: LOL!!!! Great episode, tonight! We know for sure who blackmailed Rumple, though. I used to feel sorry for Rumplestiltskin. Not that I ever thought Hook was responsible for anything other than loving Milah (and now, Emma), but I used to think Rumple was just a product of a bad deck of cards. He keeps making decisions that show he gratifies himself first before anybody else though, and that is why I can’t be a “devil’s advocate” where he’s concerned. Not, anymore. I look forward to more Captain Swan this season, and hope Killian comes out okay, in the end.

I LOVE what they did with Sven. I love being able to laugh, like that. I love that Sven is PERFECT to his character, from the movie. I hope we see more of him.

Have the producers mentioned a story arc for either in 4B? I know Hook’s past will be explored, but my worries are he doesn’t necessarily need to be there for that.
Heck will freeze over and the oceans will turn turn to ice before ABC ever lets A and E put Hook in any sort of danger that isn’t resolved before the hour is up. Ain’t gonna happen, now or ever. And of course they haven’t mentioned a story arc for S4B for anyone. All we know is that Mal is coming. The first half of the season is 2 episodes in. They don’t tease the second half much until we get closer to the end.
Thanks, RG. I hope you’re right. I really enjoy conversing with so many wonderful people here on this board, and love posting here , but the sad thing is that if they do the same thing with Hook they did with Neal (if memory serves, I think there were some who didn’t think A and E would really do that) , I’ll lose my reason for watching the show. If that happens, I’ll probably be here to help console, but then will quietly take my leave. I guess we’ll just have to wait, and see.

I’m just remembering an old interview Bobby did, that by episode 9, things get very bad for Rumple. We may start to see the fallout of him lying to Belle about the dagger.
