Bottom line, and i sound like a butthole : Hook would be missed FAR MORE than Neal. Period.
True, but here is where I fear this is headed. I really, really hope I’m wrong because even I, at an age of 37, who shouldn’t care so much about what happens with fictional characters, want for Captain Swan to be endgame.
My fear is, that Neal will die, and then that Hook later sacrificially dies with a result of Neal’s resurrection (meaning MRJ isn’t gone, just taking a break). I don’t know if this is where they are headed, it’s just a theory, but if they are going to give us Captain Swan, then that’s what I want to see them keep and develop. I’d like the freedom to let myself loose, and be excited about this, in other words.

How many times have they said “Emma would have suitors” …. then introduced Neal & Killian. *sigh* I HATE when they answer Qs like that- If you wont give a straight up answer- like S2 or S3 or whatever, just dont answer it! It’s not hard really :/Haha @SK! Nice sassing the Master of Sass! And proving my belief that you can’t trust A&E as far as you could throw them! Love it.
Well, let’s see:
1. Paleyfest 2013, when Eddy Kitsis was asked about Captain Swan from a member of the audience: “We’d like to see it”
2. Hook to Emma at the end of “Going Home”: “There’s not a day that will go by when I don’t think of you”
3. And finally, that kiss in Good Form! Emma grabbed Hook, and kissed him. One can argue that it was not a sincere kiss, true, but she wouldn’t have had her tounge in Hook’s throat like that, if she were not attracted to him. Of course, she was. She just took the moment, and used it for all it was worth.

I have a hard time believing that the person to whom the PA was referring–unhappy, trashing their trailer–is any of the main cast. They all hang out together! They go to concerts and the bar and are actually all friends off set. MRJ just said during his #AskMRJ that working with JMo is like working with a close friend. Sean has tweeted pics of MRJ, Colin, Josh and himself hanging out. We’ve seen pics of Josh, JMo, Colin and MRJ together having a good time. JMo and Ginny are best friends. Everyone speaks of each other very highly. In other words, I don’t think that the PA was referring to one of our regulars. Also..I find her tweets fishy. Without prompting or being asked for information: she just tweets a major spoiler about a death?
I know what you mean, but don’t forget….she’s a media professional in training. She’s young, and starting out in this industry. I don’t think it was an accident that this got leaked. Call me a conspiracy freak, but I would entertain a possibility that she, Adam, and Eddy were all in on this as a way to get conversation started.
I would also entertain a possibility that you are correct, though. That is kind of fishy. If that news wasn’t supposed to get out, and A&E really thought they could use it to their advantage, my question is what in the world were they thinking?!?!?! I think by doing this they did stir up buzz, but in the process have made a lot of their fanbase very unhappy and dissatisfied. They cast a black cloud over everything, just like you said earlier. That’s going to wear on people, and will eventually turn them off. It may be after March, but the question will always loom: “Who is going to die”? That’s going to ruin the show for everyone, because just like somebody said earlier in the thread, nobody’s going to watch for the episodes. They’ll be watching to see if their favorite makes it past another week.

The spoiler got released when it did because the PA tweeted about having heard that someone was gonna die. Once that info was out there, Adam and Eddy had no choice but to confirm or deny it officially. I do think they’d have released the spoiler before S3B started anyway, but they probably would have saved it for an ad campaign that would have launched maybe a couple of weeks before the show comes back. Just enough time to get people, (the general viewership who see the TV promos, not just the online fandom) worked up about it and generate some momentum to hopefully boost the ratings for the first ep back. I can just imagine the promo, dramatic music, “Before the season is over…one…will…diiiiieeee,” with dramatic individual shots of the cast and each one fades to black. But they got beaten to the punch when the PA tweeted about it.
I don’t think it’s the same person, I just don’t…….. I don’t believe that any of the major actors would be that unhappy as to make his or her misery blatatnly obvious to everyone nor do I think they’d leave their trailers like a trash heap. I don’t think it’s the same person, frankly…….. Back to some older posts, RG, I agree – this is a huge black cloud hanging over the season. I think it was a terrible mistake to release this. Yeah, you want people to talk about your show, but you want them to be EXCITED AND HAPPY for it’s return, especially when you’re already losing viewers at a rapid rate. This sort of manipulation of the fans tends to turn them off. Jenna, I don’t think it’s an unhappy person who’s leaving, but let’s say it is. I can only really speak for Emilie, but she was extremely underutilized on LOST and she never left. Her character was written out for 1 season, but eventually came back. I DO at times (even now) wish that she would leave because she’s an actress – she should work and – but of course I want what she wants. She’s clearly extremely happy being on the show; she adores Belle, ADORES Rumbelle and loves Bobby….I think if she wanted to leave, A/E would find a way to send Belle away without killing her, without ending the Rumbelle story, in case Em wanted to return. They love her, even if they don’t love Belle. There are plenty of people who don’t think Hook’s a hero……I don’t, I don’t even like his arc (I don’t buy it). I think his death would make far less of an impact than Belle or Bae, the only two other people I can see dying. So, if it’s for story purposes, it has to be either of these two…..anything to make Gold suffer more.

It would have been in the back of a lot of minds, but would have never taken off like it did when A&E spoiled it. One an theorize they took “lemons” and made them into “lemonade” by using the leak to manipulate their fans into becoming a buzz machine for the show, but I don’t think there were any lemons here. They poured gasoline on a flame when news of the upcoming death was released, and turned that flame it into a bonfire. A&E are seasoned professionals. They are too smart to goof up by not forseeing the consequences of news like this. That’s why I do not believe this was in any way, an accident. On their part, or even possibly, on part of the PA.

There is a reason I don’t believe what he is saying is 100% true. I believe there is truth mixed in it, but not completely genuine at face value. Here’s the reason why: The spoiler. The spoiler, make no mistake, is a tool. It is a very manipulative tool to keep fans anxious about their favorites pending the start of 3B so they’ll watch. The anxiety is already doing what it was supposed to do. It’s provoked conversation, which generates interest, which helps to cultivate viewers for Once’s return in March. It’s ingenious, but it’s also very manipulative. It turns people into tools, and thus makes them objects for use, rather than individuals to value.
For him to so easily do that, tells me that he has a mindset that the reasons justify the means; that values such as a respect for honesty, are subject to circumstances, and so nothing is sacred. That’s what shows me a lot about Adam, as a Hollywood executive. If it meets a purpose, I don’t think he’d have any qualms at all about being creative where the truth is concerned.

But would he lie about lying? See we could do this forever. TV is a business. So if it WAS for creative differences or unhappniess I don’t think he’d come out and say.
I think it’s a half-truth; the story was pre-planned to fit an actor’s wishes, dismissal, or circumstances; one of the three, well at the stage of outlining the plot and story line for season 3. I don’t know this 100% to be the case, but Adam isn’t going to come right out with information on whether the decision really was out of his hands, and implementation of the actor’s departure would be delayed for adherence to contractual agreements….part of that contract, possibly containing a pre-stipulated requirement that certain information be kept priate; whether medical, personal, professional, or any combination of the 3 which ultimately, may be why the actor is leaving, and why Adam is having to dance a fancy two-step to put on an act for the public eye.

This thread is just to put your guess of who dies so that when the episode airs, we can see who guessed correctly. My guess is Hook or Henry Hook because they seemed to be trying to push the “man of honour” aspect with Hook in 3A so I think it would be fitting for Hook to die as a true “man of honour” by sacrificing himself for Neal, Emma or Henry. Henry because he’s the show’s biggest plot device and his death would affect all the other characters.
My guess is Hook. It will take a lot to convice me otherwise, even with recent Neal spoilers.

It’s exciting, that the show has a baby on the way both for the Charmings, and for Ginny and Josh in real life. I’m really looking forward to this part of the story in 3B.

I hate to say this because I like Colin O’Donoghue, and he is the best Captain Hook ever, but I’d have had a stand-in for him when he broke his leg last season. This person could have just been there until Colin healed, and returned to set.
I think the absence of Hook set the show off-course from it’s intended story-flow. I read a theory elsewhere on the board in a different topic, that the show may be rebooting itself. If that’s what they are doing, I’d say it’s because they were driven off course from their original vision, and have to find a way for them to return back to home base. Having to accomodate for someone’s absence may have been the catalyst, which began their mis-directed route, if that’s what is going on. I’d have stayed on target with the story as planned, even if it meant having to temporarily recast a role to do it.
In short, I guess what I am saying is, “the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few” (~Spock, Star Trek II, Wrath of Khan), and the big picture (the “many”) was impacted when the “few” were prioritized over the show, the actors, the fans, and everyone. I wouldn’t have let someone’s absence drive my project off-course.
