This! I too wish they’d just man up & say “he wont ever be redeemed in m eyes”, rather than trying to justify all the bollocks they bring up, which either 1) has been addressed or 2) isnt fact/true. I’m not ashamed to admit that while I’m saddened by Neal’s death, I still dont see him allowing Emma to go to prison, then abandoning her Twice (at least) more as being redeemed- however Emma seems to be ‘over it’ so I have to build a bridge, deal & move on. Same is true of some of Rumple’s actions- some of Belle’s less than true/informed remarks & many of Regina’s actions.

Yes I agree as well. The whole “I know you didn’t have a choice” Emma told Neal in the hospital drove me a little crazy but it is in the show now that she forgave him so I am letting it go as well.

Is this a flash fwd? Alternate reality? Dream? Argh sometimes these spoilers/pics confuse me more than anything else. I can’t wait to see how it plays out though.
As to the other stuff I can understand why some people have run hot and cold on Hook because he hasn’t been consistent until he gave up his revenge. I think a lot of people want to break it down into he is bad or he is good but really he was neither (imo). He was on Team Hook and he didn’t really care which side he was assisting as long as it got him closer to his goal. This was clearly shown when he switched sides in Tallahassee then switched sides again when Emma betrayed him. I think that is what really makes him the Anti-Hero and I always kind of thought his revenge was borne out of love and therefore not as bad (though I don’t think Milah was worth it). Perhaps that is just me with my shipper goggles though.
My husband and I get into it because he is always like HOOK KILLED PEOPLE HE IS EVIL. First off you never see him kill anybody on screen and even if he did… Snow White and Charming have killed before. They think they are on the side of good and it is justified. I don’t disagree that they are justified but is a knight obeying the orders of his queen/king necessarily “evil/bad”? It is all about POV. Hook was somewhat wrong taking Milah (though personally I think that is on her) and was definitely wrong picking on pre-DO Rumple but Rumple DID kill her right in front of Hook and mutilated him. I can easily see why Hook sees himself as justified in his revenge. Belle allied herself with Rumple just as Charming did with Snow. Nobody blinks an eye at Regina attacking Charming. Again I don’t agree with these actions but they make sense to me.
Chat occasionally gets me riled up because I do think sometimes people are unfair to Hook or as has already been brought up… suspect his motives for everything. I fight the urge to jump in, which is why I don’t really stray from this thread.
On an unrelated note do you guys thing it is possible for Emma to “heal” Hook’s hand one day when she masters her powers? I know Rumple fixed Whale but he still actually had the arm on ice. I wonder too if he would even want it healed since he might consider it a part of him at this point. He certainly seemed to miss it when he had to wear the hand attachment instead.
The Knave was my favorite part of OUATIW so I would be happy with him coming aboard. I find it interesting though that they are already pegging him as a regular for S4. That seems too early unless A&E were already pre-planning in case of a Wonderland cancel. I remember reading a previous interview about it being difficult to bring characters on from Wonderland because the timelines are not the same right now. It will be interesting to see how they work him in.
I doubt he would be yet another love interest for Emma on screen. I suppose some people could possibly ship though anyway, potentially out of spite even. There is definitely a lot of Hook hate out there. To be honest though I am hoping some people start to come around with the events of 3B, the reveal of Hook’s last year, as well as the pain of Neal dying too soon subsiding a bit. I shipped Emma and Graham back in the day and it was definitely tough when he died.
I agree @rumplegoldfan I really hate hearing the argument that Hook doesn’treally love Emma and only cares about ‘the taco side’ of things.
I find this so amazing… i’m sure there are other women in SB if this is all he was interested in… and if that was all he was interested in with only Emma, I dont think ‘making a taco’ is worth going back to NL, facing a terrible Villian with the serious potential of dying. Really now! I am really starting to think SF fans are just terribly young.

As a mom to a 12 year old boy who has a second husband who stepped in to the “father” role in my son’s life since his bio dad is not in his life, I can’t wait for the upcoming CaptainCobra scenes. And I can confirm from a real life perspective that those scenes will NOT be about CS but will be about a man stepping up to fill a role that is desparately needed in a young man’s life. A man CANNOT fake interest in a child in order to score points with mom – it is obvious, trust me. And I am just talking from a situation where a child has been abandoned by his bio father not one in which there has been a death and the man stepping in to fill the role of the father loved the missing dad as well. Henry is going to be one very lucky kid in terms of what he is going to get from Hook. Hook wanted to be a father to Bae and regretted that he was never able to do so/made a huge mistake with him. How much more of an effort do you think he is going to put forth in fathering Henry for that reasom ALONE?? Than add in the fact that he will want to do it to honor Bae’s memory AND he will want to it because he loves Emma and Henry is a part of Emma, plus he doesn’t want to make the same mistake he made with Milah again – only loving the woman and not insisting on taking the entire package even if SHE didn’t want to. That man is going to be the most dedicated father figure any one has ever seen – and he is going to make darn sure Henry knows all about Neal – with or without his memories. CS has NOTHING to do with this relationship which is what makes it so beautiful to me.!!

I have a feeling the Captain Cobra scenes are going to be more about honoring Bae (and Milah) than CS. Funny how Hook seems to have taken over the role of official protector so far in 3B.
I hope the ratings don’t dip too much next week. I doubt it will impact renewal but technically Once hasn’t been officially renewed yet as far as I know.
On the side not, when Neal asked to be alone with Emma in the hospital, did you guys notice Emma looking at Hook like ” it’s ok babe, we’ll just talk”. And when Hook was walking away Emma had to look back at him XD… so married
Haha I saw that too 🙂 The look she gave him to get him to apologize to Belle also made me think of a married couple.

I don’t think it really changes much *in the show* because Neal was never a barrier to CS just as Hook was never a barrier to SF. At most it will slow it down due to grief/mourning and respect for Neal. Personally though I wish Emma would have chosen Hook before a Neal death because that sets up a lot of problems within the fandom. Obviously not all SF fans are like this but there was definitely a lot of “fan service”, “Once Upon a Hook”, etc. comments last night, particularly on Twitter. Hopefully once things settle it will get better. It makes me sad that there is so much hate in the fandom.
I don’t mean to rub salt in the wound to any SF shipper that happens to look into this thread but…..what I found curious is that a lot of people have said that they established Neal and Emma as TL’s this episode and I just don’t see it. I know Belle said something about that but that doesn’t make it so. Neal even admitted that they never found Tallahassee. Perhaps it would have been selfish to leave Neal/Rumple as they were to keep Neal alive but I don’t see Snowing making the choice that Emma did, which knowingly resulted in Neal’s death. Why wasn’t TLK even tried? I know he told Rumple he loved him but did he tell Emma he loved her?
The death and how it happened just makes me more nervous about the potential wedding
Wow, well that was an emotional episode. There were definitely some aspects I really liked and some aspects I really did not like.
I loved Hook finally apologizing to Belle even if it was a bit forced lol. LOVED OQ! I wonder how Regina is going to move forward with that knowledge.
Loved CaptainFire but sad that it is all we are going to get. I had a 2 year old screaming in my ear while watching it but it sounded like some of us were right and Neal sent the message to Hook? Did I hear that right? I want to re-watch but I am currently watching My Little Pony because my daughter refuses to go to sleep >< I still think overall Bae/Neal drew the short straw when it came to character development. I think they did a good job considering it was only one episode but I felt it shouldn't have been just one. Even his death seemed like a plot device to explain how Rumple was returned back to life. I suppose the story line they developed with him and Rumple becoming one would make it difficult for him to be present prior to all of this but that confused me. I didn't understand how they separated initially but were still "together". What I did like is that for the first time I actually felt that Neal = Bae. Throughout this show to me it always seemed to me that they were two different people. I loved Bae but I did not like Neal. I liked the banter that Emma and Neal had in the woods and for the first time I actually understood why so many people ship Swanfire. I do feel really bad for Neal fans. That episode made me cry and I am not a Neal fan so I can't imagine how they feel. I was glad Emma told Henry that his father was a hero right away. Did anybody think that after such an emotional episode the promo [spoiler] was a little ridiculous/silly? [/spoiler]
So I have been thinking about the big end of season spoiler and
if it is CS I hope it is a flash to the future. A&E like to play with timelines so maybe Hook proposes end of 3×22 and like the end of 3A it flashes 1-2 years later with a peek at a CS wedding. The new big bad for season 4 interrupts just like Regina did in the pilot. I think our characters could use a break from being in constant crisis mode. This would allow the writers to flash back to more fun things like Emma’s first ball in season 4. The more I think about it the less I like the CS wedding at the end of this season as it just seems so rushed. IMO this would be a nice way to work it in this season without rushing it. Regardless though I am trusting A&E to make it work well as this season progresses 🙂 I think season 3B has been really good so far.
